My Stubborn Mistress - Chapter 400 Somewhere, Trapped In Time
The last thing he recalls is he was jumping from a sinking fiery ship…
He gasps, but nothing coming through to breathe in. Quinn realizes that he was drowning. He shivers upon feeling the icy water on his body.
“Hah!” he pants heavily when he began inhaling.
“Quinn!”
He recognizes Derek’s voice and then Leroy.
“Master Williams!” he was shouting like his master– him was truly from a serious situation.
They were throwing up the moment they woke up. But it was Madison who going through the worse after they returned from time traveling. She suffers from great exhaustion, and it was in terrible dizziness.
“Madison!” Levi sat up and caresses her back. Yet he has no strength. But Madison won’t stop throwing up.
“Madison, are you alright? We need to bring you to the hospital.” Quinn who is the last one to wake up among them; he’s also feeling dizzy, struggled to come toward Madison.
“The three of you need to go to the hospital,” Derek suggested. “Butler Pete, please prepare the cars.” He demanded the old butler.
“I will go as well!” the other butler was about to get out of the room.
“No, Butler Leroy. Make sure Cassandra won’t get out of her bedroom.” Quinn’s order. He massages his forehead, but the pain striking the back of his head, deep in his skull.
“That’s right. I will go to notify Miss Marie!” Leroy agreed and hurriedly get out of the library.
They were telling the Cassandra here that Quinn was on a business trip. Now, three black cars on a convoy parked outside of France Medical Facility.
Derek runs complete tests for the three of them. After an hour, the results came out and found no problems with their health, but just slight headaches.
“Brother Quinn, I was too hungry,” Levi complains. They now seated in the lounge, but Madison still needed some oxygen and more rest.
Quinn tilted his head and stretches his back. They were just lying on the floor for the entire day. “Yeah. We have fed back that time, but our actual body left here, and take nothing.”
“I can’t believe this hunger I am feeling, right now…”
“Because the three of you just having IV and medicines.” Derek joins their conversation. He came out from Madison’s room, monitoring her condition. “Butler Leroy is in his way bringing food and clothes.”
“Ah, thank god!” Levi groans.
“Thank you, Derek. How are things in our absence?” Quinn asked Derek afterward.
“We are just following you by reading the book,” Derek replied and sat beside him.
“Really? We are in the book? Like, you could see what is happening to us?”
“Yes. The books are changing their storyline, and we learn a lot of facts.”
“For example?” Quinn was keenly listening to Derek. It intrigued him. Maybe there is another thing he didn’t learn in the past, but the book showing the one left in the future.
“Oh, right? Yes, Levi figures it out. Charles did not develop a feeling with Carlene as she was growing up as a lady, but the Carlene that we have here.” Quinn ponders about these facts. There are so many secrets in the past.
“There is no father-daughter love he develops.” Derek agreed. “And the old painting, it was actually Madison.”
“Yes. It was really her; now we have this confirmation.”
“Unbelievable, but it does the truth.”
“How was she, by the way?” Quinn too concerned about Madison. He doesn’t want her traveling with that condition. But they need to uncover answers about how to take Cassandra back and to never return in that life.
“She needs to stay on oxygen for the next half hour. She was weaker.”
Quinn heaves a worried sighed. “Okay, please make sure she stays in good health.”
“I’m on it.” He assured.
Quinn feels in deep thoughts, contemplating something. “Derek, what do you think about Prince Yoo Joon? Could it be, that he is one of the Chen twins?” he asked Derek afterward.
“It must be. If he could travel time like Madison and Cassie, one thing is clear, we have an enemy we haven’t realized yet.”
“I am unsure what is his true purpose. It seems, to kill me.”
“Before you steal my life, I will steal yours. That’s what he spoke, right?” Derek recalled what’s written in the book.
“Yes. Do you have any idea what was that means?”
“Klein Williams killed Dae-Hyun: for Klein to be reborn on his body when Marivella reincarnated in the 19th Century.”
“That is the book saying, right? So who really am I? I was Carlisle or Klein?”
“What I know, you are an entire soul. Carlisle and Klein are both fragment souls.”
“And he brought up that he sealed Carlisle’s fragment soul in that life.” Quinn was more like talking to himself while holding his chin.
“There is particularly one person who could answer.”
Quinn lifts his head and turns to Derek. With a serious gaze, he says. “It was Lady Isabella. Any news from the rescue mission?”
“Oh, Chairman Nicholas visited and checked out your condition. I asked him about it, and replied, he will contact the people he sent to rescue Lady Isabella.”
“Hmm…” Quinn nodded his head, and then Butler Leroy arrives.
“Master Williams, your change of clothes and the food is here. Where should I serve them?”
“I guess, it is fine here on the lounge.”
“All right, Master.”
“Thank you, Leroy. I will leave to have a shower first.”
The butler bows and Quinn sat up from the couch. Quinn went to one room in this facility and took a long shower. Staring at his reflection in the mirror, he began talking to himself.
“Who really are you?”
After putting on some clothes, Quinn walks out of the room and return to the lounge.
“Quinn, come on. You need to eat now.”
“Where’s Levi? He’s not eating yet?”
“Ah, he was already eating. He joins Madison.”
“I see. I’m glad.”
Quinn sat on the couch across Derek. Now he remembers about Cassandra, and his time traveling to where she is at the moment. Even if she is— Quinn stops putting the spoon in his mouth.
“Derek, do you think, the Cassandra traveling here is the fragmented soul of the Cassandra born on this RESET LIFE?”
“What are you trying to say?”
“The book, maybe it is just necessary for Cassandra to die in order, for Cassandra to stop switching to her fragment soul.”
“And maybe, the Quinn in that life should die as well, for Cassie to stop traveling to that life,” Derek concluded.
“You may correct and must be the right thing to do. Do you think so?”
“Maybe, it is better that way.” Derek tried to follow what Quinn is thinking.
“That they both die instead. Maybe this is the only way for that life to seal off forever,” Quinn mutters.
“Hmm… This is a too complicated plot twist. So, how Cassie died? How Quinn, I mean, Shun Crow should die after Cassandra died?” Derek raises these questions to Quinn who fell into another deep thought.
“Are you asking me I should kill myself and Cassandra?”
Derek recalled. “It was Dae-Hyun’s who killed Cassandra and attempt to kill Quinn. That’s right! Why we don’t ask that prince to do this?”
“What?” Quinn bursts out shockingly.
“Since he has the grudge against you. Let’s ask him to travel time and killed both Cassandra and you in that life. Then a total reset!”
“That is difficult. He wants to kill me. So after he kills me in that life, I think he will kill the— ME in the present.” Quinn heaves a long sighed.
“But, maybe it is not a bad idea. Like what you are suggesting.”
“Then, how we could ask my enemy to kill me on that life?”
“Damn. Why you dragged me into this? You are the one bringing this up, so spare me to do the plot twist. I am just the genius doctor here. Not having any special capability, but only a brain.” Derek smirks while pointing his head.
“What kind of Uncle are you?” Quinn frowned that made Derek laugh mockingly.
They were to continue jesting when the door at Madison’s room was open and Levi peeps out like in a panic.
