My Sweet Deceiver - Chapter 59
“We’re in trouble! It’s a riot!”
As soon as they heard that, Dennis and Tehez made eye contact.
Dennis’ brow frowned as he rose from his seat and spoke to the guard.
It all played slowly, like a slow scene.
It was a moment when the sense of reality disappeared.
A riot?
“Tehez! Wake up!”
“Yes, Prince.”
Tehez woke up like she was drowning in cold water for a moment.
He grabbed Tehez and made eye contact, and said.
“You go straight to the bedroom. Do not come out.”
Tehez tried to say she wanted to help him, too.
But when she saw his firm eyes, she couldn’t say it.
She just nodded.
“Yes, okay, Prince.”
“Guard the Princess down to the bedroom.”
“Yes, My Lord.”
Yarol, in the back, led Tehez to the room.
Tehez looked back as she moved to the bedroom escorted.
She could see Dennis telling people what to do behind there.
At first glance, words such as “Your Highness the King,” “evacuation,” and “fire suppression” buzzed in Tehez’s ears.

“Princess, I understand your concern, but can you sit down?”
Danielle said to her with a worried look. There was fatigue under Danielle’s eyes.
“Okay.”
In response, Tehez briefly sat on the chair, soon got up again, and wandered around the bedroom.
She stayed up all night without hearing any news.
The distant dawn was dawning dimly.
Tehez blamed herself.
Why did she not know this news until it happened?
Tehez clenched her fists.
Her hands turned white because blood didn’t flow.
She tried to find out the cause of what had happened.
She came to a conclusion.
She had been relieved.
She was fascinated by the fact that she connected with him.
Without looking back at anything else…
Tehez blamed herself for her stupidity and negligence. Even if she did, she always had to keep an eye on her surroundings.
So, she should have put her measures in place to prevent this from happening.
Either that or she had to put an end to all preparations before it happened.
Danielle spoke in a low voice as if he had noticed her mind.
“Princess, this case is by no means a mistake of yours. Please remember that you asked me to know about the rumours.”
Tehez looked up at Danielle.
“While collecting rumours in the capital, it was never noticed. It means that someone was determined to cover it up. So please don’t blame yourself.”
Danielle’s words seemed to soothe her Tehez, and she felt comforted.
That was right.
Nothing would change if she blamed herself for something that had already happened.
It will be necessary just to pick up the pieces quickly.
Tehez replied in a choked voice.
“Thank you for saying so.”
“…”
“I don’t know how fortunate I am to have you by my side.”
“I was also fortunate to be with you, Princess.”
“Why are you talking as if it’s all in the past now?”
When Tehez said jokingly, Danielle replied with a smile.
“I don’t have any thoughts of retiring yet, so don’t worry.”
The atmosphere was relaxed for a moment.
Tehez looked up and looked out the window.
The palace was quiet.
There was no sign of the fire.
She should calm down a little now…
Her heart was still beating irregularly.
She was so worried that she couldn’t sit still.
There were constant concerns about whether the fire had moved to other places or if there were any casualties.
Hundreds of tragic and disastrous possibilities flashed through her mind.
Then, someone knocked outside.
“Princess, it’s Sylvan.”
“Come in!”
Tehez ran out and opened the door.
He didn’t know the door would open so quickly, but Sylvan looked surprised and soon saw her desperate expression and looked convinced.
Perhaps it was the same that she stayed up all night, but the black shadow under her eyes was down to her chin.
“Prince has taken care of your meal. He said he wanted you to eat it without skipping it.”
Sylvan put a tray of several foods down on the tea table.
“Is he alright?”
Tehez asked the most curious question.
“He’s in the middle of a meeting.”
“Why, why did the fire start?”
Tehez asked, holding his sleeves to keep him from leaving the room.
“It seems that there was a disturbing force within the capital. They are believed to have set fire to the slums.”
“What do you mean, a disturbing force?”
Sylvan said with a troubled look.
“The exact thing is under investigation. I’m not sure, so I can’t tell you yet.”
“What do you mean you’re not sure?”
Tehez asked back.
“They’re called Republicans.”
“…”
Tehez was at a loss for words. Sylvan, who put down the tray, tried to turn around.
“Please eat well and rest.”
“What about him? Did he eat?”
“He’s taking care of the matter. He strictly ordered me to let you not miss a meal.”
“I see. Thank you. Then when-”
Sylvan, who immediately noticed what she was about to ask, replied.
“Please stay in your bedroom, Princess. It’s still dangerous.”
That was all.
Sylvan went out without saying anything.
With a thud, the bedroom door closed.
There was nothing she could do, so she was helpless.
Her hands and legs seemed to be all tied up.
She wanted to know what was going on.
However, the mob did not enter the palace until the night passed.
In other words, there was no threat to life in the palace.
Then, there was no need to hide in the bedroom…
Tehez thought so.
No matter where you are, you will be safe as long as you are inside the palace.
In the absence of the king, who went on vacation to the south, Dennis would take care of everything alone.
Let’s help him at a time like this.
Tehez made up her mind and stood up from her seat.
“I can’t do this. If I stay like this, I’m going to die.”
“Where are you going?”
“I have to go to the palace. There’ll be something I can do.”
Tehez stormed out of the bedroom.
Danielle followed her.
The guards at the door asked where she was going.
The vigilance was tight.
“I’m going to go to the palace, but where is he now?”
The guards answered with expressions that they would not let a single needle go in.
“My Lord told me to keep Princess safe in the bedroom.”
Tehez replied softly in a tone of persuasion.
“If the mob enters the palace, will my bedroom be safe?”
“It wouldn’t work, Princess.”
“…”
After a few seconds of silence, and…
Her eyes changed.
Tehez said, raising her head gracefully, looking at the guards taller than her.
It was a voice that was low but not pitiful at all, exuding the dignity of nobility.
“Are you stopping me now? I, the daughter of the Marquis of Ingeliger, a contributor to the founding of Valloise, and the wife of Prince of Valloise?”
Their attitude was overwhelming.
The guards looked perplexed at her attitude, which changed for a moment.
Not missing that time, Tehez pressed with dignity.
“I am very, very curious about your families and ranks.”
“I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. I ask for your forgiveness.”
The guards were contemplated when she spoke of the family and class with great force.
They were no longer in the way but quickly moved out of the way.
“Answer where the Prince is. I’ll forgive you.”
“The Prince is at the main palace meeting.”
“I see. Danielle.”
“Yes, Princess.”
When the guards sent her off with the utmost courtesy, Tehez nodded and left.

There was a momentary disturbance when Tehez appeared in the main palace conference room.
Officials and aristocrats looked at her blatantly.
It was as if they had seen something they shouldn’t have seen.
This may be because women have never come to the forefront of state affairs.
Tehez recalled her position anew.
However, she couldn’t afford to indulge in such trivial sentiments.
She took her steps elegantly as if those eyes were invisible.
As if they had been hit by an artillery shell overnight, the meeting hall of the main palace was in chaos.
Through the doors of the conference hall, low-ranking officials repeatedly entered and exited with documents.
There was nothing more to look at on the desks in the conference room.
Scattered papers, cigar ashes, and leftover bread crumbs were mixed together.
With all those things in higher s eyes, Tehez found a familiar face among people.
Finally, he was sitting at the top of the conference hall reading something with concentration.
The furrowed brow was the proof.
He was wearing a vest and a shirt, throwing his coat somewhere.
His long, white fingers clutching the papers, his collarbone visible through his loosely untied shirt, were very decadent.
His surroundings were quiet as if cut off from the hustle and bustle.
Languid but sharp.
Flexible but arrogant.
Tehez did not hesitate and went straight to him.
As she reached just a few steps away, the hem of the swaying dress seemed to be caught in his sight.
He raised his head, which he had lowered.
Standing right in front of him, her eyes met his.
He rubbed his eyes a few times, then put on the glasses he had left on one side of the desk.
He seemed to think of her as an illusion.
But even if he rubbed his eyes or wore glasses, he shouted in surprise as her figure became clearer.
“Tehez!”
He jumped up and grabbed her by the shoulders.
She frowned at the firm grip.
“I told you to stay in the bedroom. Why are you here?”
“Prince, you’ll need me. Let me help.”
“I don’t need you. Go back to the bedroom.”
Dennis’ voice was firm.
“You will need a detailed insider investigation. If you unravel the intelligence organization I have-”
“I said I don’t need it! Is it because you don’t know how dangerous it is out there right now?!”
When he screamed, she flinched.
The people in the conference hall stared at them for a moment.
He said, suppressing his voice, “I still have enough, Tehez. I can work only when you are safe. Don’t you know what that means?”
His bloodshot eyes were trembling slightly.
“I’m begging you, please, don’t do anything.”
