My System And I - Chapter 2

Just a teenager who was both a gamer and a reader. On nights after school, he will just read and game all he want. Just lazing around as he saw that life was very satisfying and he was contented with what he has.

Now let us not delve too much into his past life. He was sleeping in his bed that night and he was happily snoring in his sleep. But as soon as he woke up, he was paralyzed and he can’t feel he was breathing. Making him forcefully mustered his strength but it was all for nought.

Soon after, he can’t feel his whole body and started to feel that the world was spinning. He felt that his struggles were all in vain. To make it worst, it only made him get closer to his end.

After not moving at all, all went black. Breathing was even impossible for him to do at the moment. Just with more time that passed by, he was out of breath. Making him want to scream in his mind but he can’t.

His veins in his head popped as he struggled some more. Soon after, his pupils went up while his eyes were closed. It was so dark without no light to see in his eyes and he can’t breath. Making him feel being drowned trapped inside a sinking ship without lights.

His last struggle was very painful and his tears welled from his eyes. Straining his life as his body turned stiff with all his struggles.

His soul and spirit separated with his body, making him see his corpse as he floats in the air.

He started to touch his face but his hands just passed through. Making him startled by what was transpiring currently.

“Am I dead? So this is what they called being in spirit. I don’t want to die yet! I still have many things to do. I am too young to die!” Dezmund shouted and he started to feel uneasy.

He floated and travelled to his parents and siblings. Making the last moments at them. His brother and sister were in the kitchen late in the night. Opening the fridge for a midnight snack while watching animes.

Just as he finished with his last moments with them, he felt a great force that pulled him upwards. He passed through to the roof and saw a gate up in the sky. Brimming with silver lights while the gate sounded like it was humming in lullabies.

It was ornamented with golden pillars and precious diamonds while it has a waving cloth-like light in the pillars. Like a gate with wings that was made of light. Making Dezmund to be dumbstruck by how majestic it was.

He was mistified by the sound so he approached it. Making him see a figure from afar just outside the gate. He stared on their house for the last moment then sighed. He stared back at the gate and a lone guardian was standing just in front of it.

Dezmund approached the being while floating. Striding in the air like it was nothing at all.

As he has a clearer view of the being, it was a spitting image of an Angel as Dezmund saw in picture books. As obvious as it was, he still squinted his eyes if it was a dream or not.

Wings of an eagle on its back. Three on the left and three on the right. Not flapping them to float and an armor colored golden yellow with sword held upside down on his front.

“Greetings child, or should I say Dezmund Ozborn. I am your guardian Angel that was overseeing you till your death and I am proud to be the one who accompanied you till your last breath. I will guide you to the next life that you will face. Please follow me, we need someone like you in our world,” He said in a loud voice.

“Thank you for your guidance, I have read books about your kind and I didn’t know that you are all real. I can be rest ȧssured of your company,” Dezmund said to him bowing while eyes closed.

“Just rest ȧssured Dezmund. We Angels were all judged by humans in the Judgement. But we will be having a trip to another world just yet. We needed your kind in that world,” He said to him then opened the gate.

“Let us travel to Hearth where you will temporarily live a second life. A parallel universe that was like your world, the earth. You see Dezmund, the world here are infested with Demons and we are in dire straits just to save humankind. The humans are all now in their last stand as the Demons are all now making more than half of the world to be their own. You will live in a small village, that was in a body of a two-year-old child. That child died recently of sickness and you will live on his behalf. Remember, you are the child of hope that we are waiting for. You must save this world from peril,” The Angel said with a serious tone.

Just as Dezmund heard his speech, he noticed a plot hole in its content. So he asked politely about it.

“But how about Angels? You are greater than humans right? Why can’t you save them and sent humans on your behalf?

“Yes we are stronger, but humans have forgotten about our Creator and he was silent for many years. The demon’s invasion began right after the God of Creation was forgotten by the beloved humans. Prophets were sent but all are unbelieving. Many are slain by the Demons and so he will be sent forth humans to save humans. Angels are guarding the Heavenly realm too as it was being attacked too by demons. Remember that humans are not forsaken, until the humans as a whole will repent, then God himself will descend and save them. He was waiting for the right time, but until then, someone has to bring hope to the people,” The Angel said to him.

Just as they were talking, they were travelling in the galaxy at fast speeds. Arriving at a green planet that looked like Earth. Making Dezmund be in awe.

“Dezmund, you will receive help in due time. Many people and believers will help you someday. You will also receive a System from God himself as compensation for all the troubles. You should be strong in this journey, all things will be hard for you as the God of Demons is also eyeing you so be careful. I can’t be of much help to now but I will give the System now to you,” The Angel said to him.

He grabbed something on his back and it glowed like a ball of light. Domineering Dezmund’s eyes with its radiant yellow glow.

“Now hurry and receive the System. All of humanity’s fate is in your hands, you should be proud. You are chosen by God himself,” The Angel said to him then gave the ball of light to Dezmund.

Dezmund in turn received the System and his eyes glowed in yellow.

“I will go now, say my regards to God. It was nice meeting you, Guardian Angel,” Dezmund said to him. Smiling bitterly as he knew life will be very perilous and painful in the future.

“I don’t know why I have to be the one but this is exciting. My gamer and reader instinct is screaming with great glee. Better than my past life without purpose I guess?” Dezmund said as he drifted towards the Hearth.. Thinking of being excited but still, he felt he will miss his parents and siblings in the process.
