My Villainous Wife - Chapter 191
Yan Xiaoran pursed her lips tightly as she tried to keep her laughter from coming out of her mouth. However, she failed miserably as she couldn’t hold any longer.
“Ha… hahaha!”
She continued to laugh while holding her stomach, tears spilling in the corner of her eyes, and only stopped laughing when her head started to hurt.
She couldn’t believe it. She should have already known that the world was small the moment that Alexander found her after several years of separation since their childhood.
However, how could their fates be tightly intertwined like this?
Yan Xiaoran still couldn’t believe that Alina would sleep with a man. She always thought that her friend was strict to herself and her body, not letting herself engage in any sėxuȧŀ or physical acts involving a man. ;
But she actually slept with someone?
And it was Alexander’s brother, Reo.
This was a shock to her.
Just what was she thinking?
“Why are you laughing?” Alexander couldn’t understand why she kept laughing until her head hurt and complained. “Don’t laugh. ; Your wound will reopen if you continue like this.”
“Sorry. I just couldn’t help it.” Yan Xiaoran wiped the tears from her eyes and sat on top of his ŀȧp, letting her back lean against his ċhėst. “This is shocking news to me. I’ve known her since we met in prison and thought the worst she could do after being released was hack the government’s data. Never would I ever think that she would go after your brother.”
“She’s a hacker?” Alexander asked her.
Yan Xiaoran nodded. “She hacked several data from different countries. She’s quite a hotshot, and a celebrity in the Interpol’s wanted poster. However, she already served her time in prison for a few years.”
“Why only a few years?” Alexander became curious. ;
Hacking a country’s important data that was kept hidden from the public was punishable with several years, even reaching up to 50 years if that particular country deemed that the hacker was extremely notorious and dangerous. ;
And if Alina was exactly what Yan Xiaoran was saying, a woman who hacked several countries already, then it wouldn’t be strange if she was captured and tortured for several years.
In stricter countries, she might even get murdered in secrecy.
Alina’s secret was hers to keep. The things she told her husband were just a few of the details that even Alexander wouldn’t be able to find even with his armies of experts behind him.
At most, Alexander would probably scratch the top of Alina’s secret and wouldn’t understand anything.
—
After lying for a day and being taken care of by her husband, Yan Xiaoran started to walk around the villa. ;
It was huge and well-designed. The interior was grand and elegant, and simple. But still, it was beautiful.
Alexander left earlier and hasn’t come back. He went to take care of some important matters with two of his brothers, Reo and Jin Woo.
“Older sister, what do you think I should do?” ;
At this moment, Yan Xiaoran was spending time with Lucas, the youngest among the brothers. ;
He was currently depressed and wanted someone to listen to his troubles. Fortunately, there was Yan Xiaoran, the perfect victim and person to be his listener today, because his other brothers didn’t want to be bothered by him.
“I’m engaged to a woman taller than me. She’s born in a military family, and our marriage is fixed in stone. What should I do to get out of it?” Lucas lamented.
“You don’t like your fiancé?” Yan Xiaoran raised a brow at him.
“It’s not that I don’t like her.”
“Then, do you like her?”
Lucas took a few seconds to pause and think. Then, he shrugged. “Not that much.”
Yan Xiaoran sighed. “Try to get along with her. Maybe you will like her once you know her. Besides, you don’t know if she likes you either.”
Her words instantly made Lucas raise his eyes to look at her. ;
He was frowning as if he couldn’t understand what she meant. Lucas grew up in the military base, where he excelled and immediately shot past the ranks at such a young age. It was also one of the reasons why his fiancé’s parents reached out to him for an arranged marriage.
“You might not be the only one who’s forced to be in this marriage. Your fiancé might also want to be free,” Yan Xiaoran said. “She might even have someone else in her heart.”
Suddenly, an image of a man standing beside his fiancé while laughing and on a date with that man entered Lucas’ mind. ;
Lucas’ stomach took a dip as an uncomfortable feeling started to rise up to his throat, making him feel suffocated. What is happening to him? Was he that bothered to know that Leah, his fiancé, had someone she liked? That she was smiling at someone else other than him?
For years, he was angry at their parents for fixing their marriage without asking his thoughts on it. Leah didn’t seem to be bothered by it whenever they met up upon their parents’ orders, but thinking about it again, it appears that he didn’t know what she actually thinks of their engagement or about him being her fiancé.
He never thought about this kind of thing because no one would listen to his troubles seriously. And even if they did, they would just offer a perfunctory answer and comforting words that missed all the points.
However, after talking to Yan Xiaoran, Lucas’ mind became more open, and he suddenly wanted to meet his fiancé to talk things out with her and see what she thinks about them. ;
But alas, Leah was out of the country and was touring the world for her fashion shows.
Just as Yan Xiaoran was about to add more words to help Lucas erase his worries, her phone on the table chimed.
She reached for it and read the message.
After reading the message, her phone almost slipped from her hands and ended up on the ground as her body shook in anger.
Lucas sensed her rage and asked, “What’s wrong?”
He carefully approached her and wanted to read what was on her phone when Yan Xiaoran said, “I need to go back to the Mainland.”
