My Way To You - Chapter 322
“I have Rahul, I don’t need you with me too.” Ariana explained flatly. Faraji looked at the chibi kitten and burst out into laughter. “You’re a riot! Now I feel bad for killing you before.” Faraji said as he wipped away a tear. “What did you just say?” Gregory asked but Faraji just ignored his question. Instead he gave him a stone faced look. Gregory backed into a corner then sat down.
“You’re sticking with her now right?” Faraji asked Gregory sweetly. “Of course, she,” Gregory started to say but Faraji ignored him by turning away. Leaving Gregory to draw circle in the corner. “I will recognize you then.” Faraji said as he reached out to touch Ariana.
“Keep your hands away from her!” Edlyn shouted as she pulled Ariana into her embrace. “Oh another kitty?” Faraji laughed as he looked Edlyn over. “Has anyone ever told you that you could be the next jewel eyed priestess?” Faraji asked. Ariana averted her gaze as Edlyn looked at her. “No.” She answered hesitantly. “I see.” Faraji said as his eyes flashed with disappointment.
“Well at least for me I would never recognize you. I’m very picky about who I serve and even pickier when pledging my life.” Faraji said as he narrowed his gaze. He then snapped his fingers. Rahul sensed something and jumped on to Faraji’s face. He started scratching like crazy, Faraji missed his target and a flames sparked an inch away from Ariana’s cheek.
“Enough!” Ariana yelled as she pried herself free. “Keep Edlyn safe.” Ariana instructed her Lumas and they quickly piled on top of her. Ariana took a few shaky step forward and pulled Rahul off Faraji’s face with ease. “Let’s get this over with.” Ariana said bluntly as she tossed Rahul towards Edlyn.
Edlyn fell back onto the bed and Gregory sat in the dark. “Ha! I knew you were interesting!” Faraji yelled excitedly as he grabbed Ariana’s cheek and pulled her closer. “Well if I had to chose a new life partner I would definitely pick you.” Faraji said with a giant grin. His face was so scratched up that Ariana couldn’t help but laugh.
“Sorry but I’m even pickier then you.” Ariana said as she pinched Faraji’s hand. Faraji let go of Ariana’s cheek as a small blush spread across his face. “L-let’s get this over with. I have other things to do.” Faraji stuttered as he averted his gaze. He then lifted his hand and placed it on top of Ariana’s forhead.
“I, Faraji the fire elemental promise to lend you my power whenever you need… As long as you entertain me for the rest of your life!” Faraji said with an evil grin. Ariana couldn’t stand him anymore and smacked his torso. “Ouff, J-just like that! You’re such an interesting girl, I can’t help but formally recognize and bless you.” Faraji said happily.
Ariana’s eyes rounded as her body started to heat up. It was like lava was coursing through her veins. Ariana dropped to her knees as she clutched her chest. Sweat started to break out and roll down her temples as she double over, trying her best to not scream out in pain. “Do something?!” Edlyn yelled as she tried to break free from the Lumas.
“Faraji what have you done?” Gregory said as he rushed to Ariana’s side. “Not many people can survive a blessing from an elemental. I’m actually surprised she has three already. The pain will worsen the further she travels down her destined path.” Faraji said as he looked down at Ariana with a bored expression. Gregory clicked his tongue as he tried to pick Ariana up but instantly retreated his hands. Her temperature was too high for any normal human to stand.
“Faraji is there anything you can do to lessen her suffering?” Gregory asked as he looked at Faraji. “Sure there is.” Faraji said with a shrug. “Do it!” Gregory commanded. Faraji sighed as he looked at Ariana. “Fine but only because I want a taste.” Faraji said arrogantly. Faraji squatted down and looked at Ariana. “So boring.” He said as he grabbed Ariana’s chin and leaned in.
In the next second a horrible cracking sound filled the room. Ariana looked at Faraji with a murderous glare. Her fist was in the air as Faraji stayed frozen in place. His hand was still Holding Ariana’d chin but his face was further away. Blood trickled down his nose as he blinked in confusion. He released Ariana and touched the blood. He looked at it in awe then looked at Ariana. “You are so amazing!” He shouted excitedly.
Ariana glared at Faraji as tears sat in the corners of her eyes. “Don’t touch me.” Ariana hissed breathlessly as she moved herself into a fetal position. “Never, not without your permission. I swear!” Faraji practically sang as he jumped around Ariana. “Ariana.” Edlyn called out as she watched Ariana become paler.
Ariana was now panting, her pajamas were now soaked with sweat and her cheeks were flushed. “I’m okay.” Ariana said in between pants. “Don’t worry she’ll be fine.” Faraji said with a bright smile. Just then a bright light was starting to glow. Ariana’s breathing started to calm down and her colour started to return to normal.
“See she’s fine. Didn’t even make a single peep, unlike the others… Well let’s see my blessing already.” Faraji said as he held out a hand for Ariana to grab. Ariana rolled her eyes then got up herself. “Chills.” Faraji sighed happily as he hugged himself. Ariana pulled down her soaked pajama collar and showed off her new blessing.
A firey orange, lower case Lambda appeared just under her left collar bone. “Just two more to go.” Faraji whispered as he looked at Ariana’s collar. He could see each blessing even if Ariana didn’t activate them. “Do you know where the last two are?” Ariana asked but Faraji looked uninterested. “I better go back. I have lots to do, SO Gregs call me when something interesting happens.” Faraji said as he tapped Gregory’s face a few times.
“Who knows I might get lonely again and come looking for you.” Faraji said with a wink. “And who knows I might even be willing to answer a question.” Faraji said as he looked at Ariana. He then turned to Edlyn and gave her a dirty look. “Well my priestess candidate I wish you the best of luck.” He said as he bowed then slowly started to dissolve into first grains. “Please don’t dissappoint me.” He laughed as he left.
