My Way To You - Chapter 369
“I’m sorry?” Ariana asked as she looked at Waldemar. “I said at least you know how to use your brain a little.” Waldemar snapped. Ariana’s jaw dropped, she wasn’t expecting such a change in attitude when he he was bored just moments ago. “Well are you coming in or do I have to invite you in?” Waldemar asked as he turned and walked back into the room. Ariana pursed her lips and silently followed Waldemar in, cursing inside her head as she walked.
Waldmar stopped walking abruptly causing Ariana to stumble to a stop. He then turned hs head and stared at a seat. Ariana looked over and wondered what he wanted now. “Do I have to instruct you sit too? Please remind me how you got a perfect score if you can’t even use common sense?” He asked as he pointed at a seat. Ariana sighed and just sat down. “You’re nothing like her.” Waldemar whispered as he took his own seat at his desk. “Are you talking about Evangeline?” Ariana asked as she looked at Waldemar.
Waldemar flinched. It looked like he wasn’t expecting Ariana to answer but he quickly recovered and resumed his indifferent face. “Tell me what you remember.” Waldemar said as he grabbed a pen. “About what?” Ariana asked as she held her own hands under the desk. She didn’t want to talk about what had happened, she finally got over her headache and really wanted to avoid getting another one. “Are you purposely trying to test me?” Waldemar asked as he started to tap his pen against his desk.
“No. Are you purposely trying to make me look stupid?” Ariana asked in a harsh tone. Waldemar started to tap his pen even harder and faster. “Do I need to even try?” He asked. “I guess not. It must be your personality that makes people lose brain cells.” Ariana hissed as she clutched her hands. She was trembling as she spoke to him. Trying her best to distract him.
Waldemar’s pen flew out of his hand the moment it touched the desk. His jaw dropped as he stared at Ariana. He looked ghostly pale and his eyes were wide and round. “What did you just say?” He asked in utter shock. Ariana was taken aback. All her courage flew out the window as she stared back at Waldemar. “I-I-I’m sorry. I ddn’t mean to be so…” She stared to say but then swallowed back her last word.
She didn’t want to lie. She wanted to be nasty, she wanted him to stop asking questions. “Say it again!” Waldemar shouted in a fit of rage. He slammed his fist against the desk causing his piles of papers to fly all over. Ariana stood up and took a step away from her seat. “I’m so-” She started to say as her body trembled as Waldemar gave her a deady glare. “SHUT UP! I SAID SAY IT AGAIN!” He yelled.
Ariana shook her head no and then turned to run out but was caught in Waldemar’s dark bubble. Fear gripped her tightly and she tried her best to break free but his magic was too strong. She was raised into the air, completely vulnerable. “Y-o-u.” Waldemar hissed as he walked up to the bubble. Ariana turned around and watched as Waldemar stalked up to her. His green eye started glowing while his blue eye tuned black. “I’m sorry! I just didn’t want to talk about what happened!” Ariana shouted as she watched him come closer.
“So you had to act like that bastard?” Waldemar asked. Ariana had no idea what Waldemar was asking, she scooted herself backwards as her heart pounded against her chest. “I can get any information I want from your head. It’s not hard but it is really painful. Some have even gone insane. Ariana do you want me to make things painful? Do you want to lose your mind? I can make it happen easily. I don’t mind, especially when you act like a certain bastard. Oh how I wish it was him that I got to torture instead of you.” Waldemar said as he placed his hand onto the bubble.
“W-w-who?” Ariana asked in a trembling voice. Waldemar looked absolutely murderous. “Stop talking or you’ll bite your tongue off and die.” Waldemar said as his hand started to glow a magenta colour. “Stop!” Ariana shouted as she blocked her face with her arms. A minute passed by and nothing happened. Another two minutes passed by and still nothing happened.
Ariana brought down her arms and dared to look at Waldemar. He started to sweat as he focused his magic but nothing was happening. His hand was still glowing a magenta colour but Ariana felt fine. Ariana moved closer to Waldmar’s hand and looked at it. Nothing was happening, it just glowed. Ariana was in awe, she didn’t know what gave her the courage but she raised her own hand and placed it over top of Waldemar’s.
The bubble dissolved instantly and her hand overlapped Waldmer’s. She could feel his magic slowly coursing through her body. It was warm and she couldn’t move her hand away. “What are you doing?!” Waldemar shouted but he couldn’t pull his hand away either. Ariana’s eyes half closed and Waldemar’s magic started to surround her gently. “It feels so warm.” She said in a daze as her ribbon came undone and her hair started to raise into the air.
Suddenly a King swan appeared over Ariana’s head. It looked like she had gotten possesed but Waldemar knew better. “Ottis!” Waldemar shouted. “Your familiar is protecting me.” Ariana said softly as she gave Waldemar a small smile. “Who are you?!” Waldemar shouted as he struggled to break free.
“I’m Evangeline’s daughter.” Ariana answered just as Ottis turned his cold glare to his own master. “You can’t be! There’s no way she would ever give birth! The church would have never allowed her to partner with anyone!” Waldemar shouted back in a panic. “My father was not just anyone.” Ariana answered. She then pulled back her hand and broke their connection. Ottis swooped forward and engulfed Waldemar causing him to fall backards.
“What are you?” Waldemar asked as he felt his consciousness slipping away. Ariana looked down at Waldemar. “I don’t know myself.” She answered before he closed his eyes.
