My Way To You - Chapter 384
“Loralei, I am so happy you’re alive.” Ariana said as she sniffedd back her tears. Loralei flinched. “Now I understand everything, I can finally understand why you, out of everyone else was willing to sacrifice so much. You didn’t want to exist but Loralei, I love you. I love everything about you. You’re so sweet and kind and I wish one day I can hear you sing. Loralei, no, Miss April Stand, I am very grateful that you were born.” Ariana said as he hugged Loralei tightly.
Loralei bit down on her bottom lip, trying her best to not burst out into another round of tears but the longer they embraced the less control she had.
“I’m so sorry you had to give up your wish but I glad you are with me.” Ariana said in a gentle voice. Loralei couldn’t hold it in anymore and started to cry hard. “I wanted to be the first to join your side! I wanted to tell you my story but part of me never wanted to admit my feelings for William!’ Loralei shouted as she pressed her face into Ariana’s cheek.
Ariana let Loralei cry against her and waited until she calmed down. When Loralei’s cries turned to small hiccups she sighed “Loralei, it wasn’t all bad, your life.” Ariana said in a hushed tone. Loralei looked up, blinking her beady, black eyes. “Your mom was happy you were in her life and so was William.” Ariana said with a small smile. ‘William?’ Loralei asked. “Silly Loralei.” Ariana giggle softy then placed a small kiss on top of her head.
“Yes William. He must have fallen in love with you at first sight.” Ariana said with an bight smile. Loralei’s jaw dropped. “Y-y-you d-don’t know that?!” Loralei shouted as her whole body started to blush. “Was he single?” Ariana asked. ‘W-well y-yes.’ Loralei stuttered. “And he was secretly watching over you, making sure you had a home, heat, water and food in your belly?” Ariana asked again. ‘Y-y-y-y-yes.’ Loralei replied as her stuttering got worse.
“Loralei no man is willing to take care of someone without something in return unless they loved them in some sort of way.” Ariana said in a teasing tone. Soon steam started to come out of Loralei’s body as she turned a brighter red. “Loralei, your existence was important no matter how you look at it. I will never try to make your wish come true. You are special and deserve to live a happy life.” Ariana said but her words never reached Loralei.
Her eyes were spinning and a goofy smile was plastered on her face. ‘H-h-he l-l-loved m-me.’ Loralei kept repeated in a giggling voice. Ariana shook her head. She was sure that Loralei would be okay. Ariana placed Loralei on the table and then patted her head. She wanted to give Loralei some time to think over what she learned but she also needed some time to herself.
Ariana walked over to the door and then quiety walked out. She knew it wasn’t a smart idea to walk away from everyone but she needed time to collect her thoughts. She slowly walked into the woods and made her way to the crystal lake. She walked onto the dock and made it all the way to the end. The autumn breeze brushed past her cheeks as she stared out into the water.
‘It wasn’t wise to leave without telling us where you were going.’ Rahul said as he sat beside her feet. “I needed some fresh air.” Ariana responded flatly. ‘Is that right?’ Rahul purred. Ariana said nothing as she stared out towards the water. The autumn wind blew past them rustling the trim of her dress. “Why is the Goddess playing with your lives? What purpose does she have to torture you all?” Ariana asked without moving her gaze.
‘Do you really think we were chosen at random?’ Rahul asked. Ariana tore her gaze from the water and finally looked at Rahul. “Do you know better?” Ariana asked as she narrowed her gaze. ‘I begged to see her. Or rather the one who would handle my soul in the afterlife.’ Rahul explained. “I can’t. Rahul I’m sorry. I know you’re the only one left but I can’t listen to it right now.” Ariana said pathetically.
‘When you were so determined earlier? You practically forced Loralei to tell her story and now you are unwilling to hear mine? Is that not just hypocritical of you?’ Rahul said as he narrowed his gaze at her. “I, I know I’m being selfish but I just can’t right now!” Ariana shouted. ‘Why?’ Rahul asked firmly. “Because I am disgusted with myself!” Ariana yelled at the top of her lungs.
Rahul’s eyes rounded, it wasn’t what he had expected. Ariana started to breathe heavily as she stared down Rahul. “I am so disgusted… I hate myself for making you all give up your wishes. I hate that I’m some sort of tool, that I have to decide on the fate of so many! Why must I toy with all your emotions just so I can follow someone else’s plan… sniff… it’s not fair.” Ariana said as tears started to spill downwards.
‘She is not the only one manipulating you.’ Rahul said with a heavy sigh. “What?” Ariana asked as she looked at Rahul with tear filled eyes. ‘You shoud have already figured everything out by now but you seem to be at war with yourself.’ Rahul said as he got up and stretched his chubby body. “What are you talking about?” Ariana asked as panic started to creep into her heart.
‘You have never had control over what you have done. Everything that has happened to you, the people you have met and the war that will be starting has all been planned out to the very last detail. Contingency plans were done over the years and almost nothing has strayed you from your course. Well almost nothing…. Regardless that person should be here soon.’ Rahul said as he turned towards the forest.
“Rahul, you’re not making any sense! What are you talking about, what contingency plans?!” Ariana shouted but a very familiar fog approached. “No.” Ariana gasped. ‘He will not hurt you.’ Rahul said as he started to walk forward. “He?! He sees me as food!” Ariana shouted. ‘Yes but as long as my plans haven’t strayed he shoud be here to ask you for help.’ Rahul explained.
“Your plan?! Your plan?! What?!” Ariana yelled.
