My Way To You - Chapter 387
“Please do tell.” The Emperor said as he gave a small smile to Tu. “Yes. I have been doing extensive research into the tales of the West devils. It seems that they have not reached their full potential and have been holding back some great power. They have locked away this great power and seem to refuse to use it.” Tu explained. Soon the gathered people who were listening quietly burst into murmurs.
“The devils can become more powerful?”
“Unbelievable!”
“Our spies have already confirmed they practically have divine strength! How can they become more powerful?!”
“Will that make them more G*d like rather then devil?” Someone asked and they all turned their gazes to the young man who asked the question. He instantly shrunk into his cushion seat and tried to disappear.
“Devil, divine or human. We must find out what they have hidden. If we can not, then our great Nation will be destroyed and conquered before you even get a chance to grow your first strands of facial hair, young records keeper Jun.” The Emperor said causing the others to start laughing.
The young man, Jun, turned beat red and shrunk even more. “Tu, I trust that you have sent men to further investigate?” The Emperor asked as he turned his gaze to Tu. “Yes, my Emperor.” Tu replied. “Well?” The Emperor asked. “Ah yes!” Tu squeaked. A man sitting beside her brought up his hand and laid it on top of her shoulder. “Go on Tu.” He whispered with a seductive smile.
Tu blushed as she looked at the man then back to the Emperor. “It seems that deep within the maze canyons underneath the mortality mist on the border of the West Nation lays the fire opal of Princess Masao.” Tu reported. “The fire opal?! But that’s impossible! How could the West Nation have this kind of information and not seize the opal for themselves!” Prime Minister Qiu shouted.
“Who said you could raise your head.” The Emperor said coolly as he sent a deadly glare towards Prime Minister Qui. The man paled and Jiro couldn’t help but click his tongue. “Uncle Jiro, do you have something to say?” The Emperor asked as he moved his gaze from the Prime Minister to the man that clicked his tongue.
The man quickly bowed his head as he raised his hands, making sure they were at the same level. Then he pushed his right fist into his left hand for the Emperor to see. “Emperor please, I beg you to allow me to speak freely.” Jiro asked as proudly.
“Speak.” The Emperor replied. “I fully support Tu’s plan and ask if my men can be the ones to retrieve the opal for our Nation.” Jiro asked. “How dare you even suggest that!” An older man shouted from down the table. Jiro kept his respectful posture and waited for the Emperor to speak.
“That’s right! It should be the Emperor’s men who retrive the opal not yours!” Someone else shouted.
“Longwei Jiro, don’t you dare think you can fool us! You have always wanted the throne and now that your brother has been murdered you believe you can now take the throne from the Emperor?!” An older man shouted from across the room.
“I should just cut that mouth from your face.” Jiro said coldly that it caused everyone in the room to shiver. “Consider it a personal favour that you’ll owe me. I want you to live a long life but if your mouth keeps running without thought. So removing it will help you live a longer life.” Jiro said as a dak smile spread across his face.
“Chancellor Goa, you know as much as I that my uncle has pledge his life to me and and the throne. I suggest that you watch what you say unless you are done with living.” The Emperor said as he gave Chancellor Goa an icy smile. Chancellor Goa averted his gaze as he mumbled his apologies. Jiro looked pleased as he relaxed himself.

‘The meeting lasted a long time. We debated for hours about what we were going to do. In the end, wait are you falling asleep?!’ Rahul shouted as he looked back at Ariana. “I, I can’t hep it… I feel so drained.” Ariana groaned as she lazily blinked at Rahul. ‘Yes, yes that seems logical. I did take into consideration you would be tired but I didn’t think you would start falling asleep so soon. That creature must have taken too much from you.’ Rahul said with a small nod.
‘Do you think you can last a little longer? I will speed up my story.’ Rahul asked. “I, I, I-I don’t know. I’m really tired.” Ariana whined. ‘Well it’s not like I didn’t make a contingency plan.’ Rahul said as he stretched back and grabbed Ariana by the collar of her clothes with his teeth. “Mmmh?” Ariana m.o.a.ned as Rahul dragged her towards the lake.
With one flick of his head, Rahul flung Ariana into the lake. The cold water immediately engulfed her body. Ariana panicked, she struggled as she tried to take control of her panicked body. Her lungs started to burn for air as she started to sink further into the depths of the lake. Suddenly a glowing red animal broke through the water and rescued Ariana from drowning.
‘Are you awake now?’ Rahul asked as he dropped Ariana on to the ground. “Cough, why, cough, did, cough, do, cough, cough cough.” Ariana said as she coughed up water. ‘Let us continue.’ Rahul said as he laid back down. His body started to glow a soft red. Ariana shot Rahul a disgusted look as her body shivered from the cold. ‘Lean against me. My body will warm you up.’ Rahul instructed.
Ariana clicked her tongue as she did what she was told. ‘Well after much debate we all agreed with going forward with Tu’s plan. It didn’t take long for my men to prepare. When the day to set off finally arrived we set out the moment nightfall arrived. It was a long and treacherous journey towards the border of the nations. No matter what it took we were going to make it to our destination. The maze canyons.’ Rahul said.
