My Way To You - Chapter 388
‘The maze canyons were a spectacular sight from above. It was covered in a dense fog but the rock formations were such a vibrate, marble red that they stuck out even with in the dense fog… However the fist trial of the mazes were to find the entrance. Tu thought it would have been better to rope down from where we were.’
‘A few men volunteered to descend but the moment the first volunteer touched the fog with his foot it started to disintegrate. We pulled him and the others up as fast as possibe but the disintegration did not stop. He vanished before both hands touched the edge of the cliff.’ Rahul said with a pitiful tone.
‘My men were already scared. I took charge right away….”
…
“We must not let our comrade’s death stop us from moving forward! He made a noble sacrifice to save the rest of us so that we in turn can save our beloved Nation! Rise up from your grief and move forward! We must find a safe way to enter into the mazes and obtain the opal!” Jiro shouted and his men slowly started to ignite with passion. “For honour! For Glory! For our Emperor!” Jiro shouted and soon his men started to chant after him.
Once all the men started to chant and Jiro could feel their new passion, he nodded his head in satisfation. “Split up and look for a way in! Tread carefully, we don’t want to lose anymore men!” Jiro commanded and all his men slammed their fists against their chests before they moved out.
“Jiro, how long do you think we have before anyone will find the entrance?” Tu asked as she batted her butterfly like eyelashes. Jiro wrapped a strong arm around Tu’s waist and pulled her towards his body. He raised a strong hand and gently brushed back a lock of hair from her face. “Your plan is not a failure. It is just a momentary set back. Do not fret my love, we will find the entrance and obtain the opal .” Jiro said gently as he smilled at Tu.
Tu blushed as she averted her gaze. She then leaned her head against his broad chest. “Yes… I believe everything will fall into place.” Tu whispered.
Half the day went by and still no on was able to find the entrance into the canyon maze. “Commander, we need to start setting up camp. We are just a few hours away from sun set and there is no new leads.” A man dressed in armor said as he turned to face Jiro.
“I think you may be right. We will need to look for a locaton where it will be hard for our enimies to spot us. Grab a few men and scout for a location.” Jiro command and the man nodded to his words. “JIRO!” Tu shouted as she rushed up to the men. “Tu where have you been?” Jiro asked as the men walked away.
“I felt awful that we were set back that I went off and looked for the entrance on my own.” Tu admitted apologetically. “TU! Are you alright?!” Jiro shouted as he grabbed Tu by the shoulders and started to inspect her furiously. “Jiro! Please listen! I am fine, I have found the entrance to the mazes! It’s safe and we need to move now before we lose anymore daylight!” Tu shouted anxiously.
Jiro stopped moving, he brought his gaze up to Tu and stared at her. “Jiro! We must move!” Tu urged. “Chang! Chang! Abort the mission! Call back the men! Tu has found the entrance!” Jiro ordered with a thunderous voice. Chang stopped walking in his tracks and turned around. “Yes Commander!” Chang shouted back.
“You believe me? Do you not want to inspect it yourself?” Tu asked. Jiro turned to Tu with a wide grin and he kissed the top of Tu’s head. “I trust you.” He said with a boyish grin. Tu smiled brightly as she looked at Jiro. “Thank you.” She replied lightly.
Soon all the men were gathered and they made their march towards a small stream that was located a fair distance from where they had first gathered. The men marched silenty as Tu lead them down the stream towards a large lagoon. “It’s just a bit further ahead but tread carefully. I don’t know if there are any traps.” Tu said with a firm and authoritative voice.
Jiro nodded his head with a small smile. He loved how Tu could change her face so flawlessly when she was faced with a serious situation. He also loved how she because small and weak just in front of him. He felt special and silently vowed to himself to ask his nephew to move up their wedding date. He didn’t think he could wait any longer to make Tu his wife.
The men treaded carefully through the crysytl clear waters and thick, hanging foliage. It didn’t take too long before they found a rather large stone door with tiger carvings etched in every inch of it. “Tu how will we get in?” Jiro asked as he steped in front of the door. “That’s what took me so long. I looked for a way to open the door and I found this stone sqaure hidden over here.” Tu replied before she started to walk more to the right of the door.
She then pushed aside some moss and a stone square was revealed. “When I fugured it out, I went to go get you.” Tu explained before she flashed Jiro a large grin. She then turned and started to slide some pieces on the stone square. She shifted them with her elegant index finger and soon a picture formed. Then a loud unlocking sound was heard. “What did you do?” Jiro asked.
“The small tiles needed to come together to form the ancient word for opal.” Tu explained. “Tu, you are absolutely briliaynt!” Jiro laughed. Then he turned to his men. “From here on out we must be ever so vigilante! For the glory of our Nation!” Jiro shouted before he turned and walked into the mazes.
