My Way To You - Chapter 401
“Don’t just all sit there. I have enough love for everyone.” Ariana called out happily. The Lumas all raced to get some affection and Ariana was buried in a large pile of Lumas but she didn’t care. She was too happy to have taken her first step forward. With laughter and praise from all her Lumas Ariana finally got off the ground and dusted off her uniform. ‘What are you going to do now?’ Aroha asked.
“I think I will finish off some loose ends and then leave.” Ariana replied. “You’re not going to stay a little longer?” Mrs. Dabney asked from the kitchen. “Roselyn…” Ariana called out and then gave her an uneasy look. “What’s wrong?” Mrs. Dabney asked. Brie was happily being held by her mother but Ariana couldn’t make herself take a step forward. She wanted to go to the two and just delay what she needed to do so badly but she needed to keep moving forward.
“Roselyn, I need another favour.” Ariana said with a serious tone. “You know I am willing to help you out in anything. Sweet heart you are my family and your favours are like nothing, go on, just ask and I will do everything I can. Well close to everything, I still got Brie with me and we’ll most likely have to wait for Pascal.” Mrs. Dabney said cheerfully.
Ariana swallowed hard. Her mouth had gone dry and she could feel a horrible knot forming in her throat. “I,” She started to say and she could feel herself gag on her words. Everything was such a beautiful dream. She had her ups and down but now was not the time to hesitate. Mrs. Dabney looked at Ariana with a puzzled looked but then she sensed the severity of the favour. She quickly walked up to Ariana and wrapped one arm around the girl. “Don’t ask.” She whispered.
“I have too.” Ariana said with a trembling voice. “No, no you don’t. Whatever you want to do forget it. Just calm down and then go back to class. Live a normal life and graduate from here. Go back home and live like normal girl.” Mrs. Dabney said in a weak voice just as Brie started to fuss. “A normal girl? Roselyn, you know I’m not a normal girl.” Ariana said with a weak laugh.
“Yes you are!” Mrs. Dabney shouted causing Brie to cry. Ariana pushed Mrs. Dabney slightly so that they could break the embrace. She then looked at Brie with pitiful eyes. “Brie is crying for me.” Ariana said with a bittersweet smile. “Don’t ask.” Mrs. Dabney said as she started to pacify Brie. “Roselyn,” Ariana called out but Mrs. Dabney shook her head no as she took a step back. “No, I’m not gonna listen to you.” Mrs. Dabney said as small tears started to roll down her cheeks.
“Roselyn, you need to turn me in.” Ariana finally said. Her heart finally settled. These two people loved her so dearly that they knew right away that she was going to do something painful. Mrs. Dabney froze, she hugged Brie as more tears spilled. “I won’t do it.” Mrs. Dabney whispered desperately. “I won’t do it and you can’t make me.” She then shouted after a moment. “You have to. I don’t have a choice now. I know what I need to do now.” Ariana said calmly.
“You don’t have anything to do but be a G*d damn student and live a peaceful life!” Mrs. Dabney shouted causing Brie to start crying louder. “I need to protect everyone who is dear to me and I think the rebellion will be the only way to do it.” Ariana said bluntly. Mrs. Dabney shook her head no. “We are being imprisoned inside the school, there is only a matter of time before the members of the church show up and find me. Roselyn I need to get in touch with the rebellion and get away from here.” Ariana sighed.
“So let them come! They are idiots they won’t be able to find you. They have their heads so far up their leader’s a** they don’t have time for common sense or logic!” Mrs. Dabney shouted. “Is that your answer then?” Ariana asked flatly. “I will never help you to your death.” Mrs. Dabney hissed. Ariana let out a heavy sigh.
“I’m sorry but I will walk down the path laid before me. There is no other choice for me. I know that now but I won’t leave right away. I need to finish things here first but the moment those idiots show up I will run. I will not be like my mother.” Ariana said, making sure to stress the word mother. Ariana looked at Brie with great heart ache then Mrs. Dabney. “I won’t give up in joining the rebellion.” Ariana said as she gave the two a soft smile then walked out of the house.
‘Are you sure you want to join the rebellion?’ Aroha asked. “I can’t do things on my own and I can’t endanger the lives here at the Academy. ‘When are you planning to leave?’ Duko asked. Ariana stopped walking. A gentle breeze wrapped around her and she smiled. “I need to cure that dumba** first before I can make my plans. I can’t wait forever either for my magical energy to come back. I also need to make my prototype and hand it over to Icarus.”
“But I think my top priority is make sure that Edlyn is safe. I know she will try to come with me and I can’t let her do that so I think I can have all done in months time. Maybe? I don’t know but I have you guys to help me figure out things right? I don’t even know where to start to make sure I am going down the favourable path.” Ariana said but the Lumas felt cold at hearing her words. ‘You need to gather information first.’ Rahul said as the others stayed silent. “I know, that’s why I made my choice. Who else will be a fountain of knowledge other then the rebellion?” Ariana said as she started to walk again.
“None of us have a choice in this anymore. We all know what is in store and I can’t afford to hesitate anymore.” Ariana said as she picked up her pace. ‘Where are we going?’ Loralei asked. “The Library.” Ariana replied.
