My Way To You - Chapter 402
‘Why do you need to go to the library?’ Davita asked. “I need to talk to Gregory.” Ariana replied. ‘Why?’ Vasu asked bitterly. Ariana stopped walking and looked at Vasu. She was absolutely surprised, Vasu let her do what she wanted as long as they were together so for him to ask, she was blown away.
“Roselyn won’t help me. I need to get in touch with the rebellion some how and Gregory was looking for Penelope… If he found a clue about her and she is actually with the rebellion, well, he might know how to get in touch with them.” Ariana replied awkwardly. ‘No.’ Vasu said firmly. “Why?” Ariana asked then Vasu gave her a cold stare before turning around and floated in a different direction.
‘Vasu what the hell are you doing?’ Rahul asked loudly but Vasu didn’t reply. Instead he looked back and clicked his tongue at Rahul before moving again. “Vasu?!” Ariana shouted but Vasu kept on floating away. Ariana clenched her jaw and stared at Vasu’s back. “Let’s follow him.” Ariana mumbled but the others refused to move. ‘What if he’s trying to stop you from doing what you want?’ Aroha asked.
Ariana flinched but then she shook her head. “Vasu will never betray me.” She said firmly then chased after him. The others refused to follow but Ariana didn’t care, she believed in Vasu and wished the others would too one day. Ariana followed Vasu to the weeping willow tree in the forest behind the bathhouse. ‘You need to get to river of oblivion.’ Vasu said as he stopped at the base of the tree.
“R-right now?!” Ariana shouted. ‘It has to be now…. If you wait any longer you might get caught or worse never have a chance to.’ Vasu said as he stared at Ariana with worried filled eyes. “A-alright…” Ariana said as she started to make her way to the tree. “What do you think you’re doing?!” Cayden shouted. Ariana spun around and saw Cayden’s enraged face. Ariana instantly shrunk back and waited for Cayden to close the gap between them.
“I asked you what the hell you are doing.” Cayden growled as he moved forward. “I-I-I thought you were still out doing a mission.” Ariana stuttered. Cayden stopped moving and glared at Ariana. “I just came back.” Cayden said in a low voice. “O-okay.” Ariana replied. Then an awkward silence grew in between them. Vasu nudged Ariana to try and push her along.
“S-sorry Cayden but I have to go.” Ariana said as she tried to turn around. “No, no you don’t.” Cayden said firmly as he caught her wrist. “Cayden?” Ariana called. Her eyes trembled with fear and worry but she couldn’t help it. Cayden had hid something from her and even risked her life. “You need to stay here.” Cayden said as he pulled her away from the tree and into his arms.
“Why?” Ariana asked with a shaky voice. “Why? Why?! Ariana do you seriously think the school being on lock down is some sort of joke?!” Cayden shouted causing Ariana to flinch. “You don’t seem to even understand that outside of the school is dangerous! Did you suddenly forget what happened out there when we went out together! We barely made it back alive!” Cayden continued to shout.
Ariana snapped, she didn’t forget in fact she could feel her own temper rising. “No! Of course not!” Ariana shouted back and pushed Cayden away. “Then why are you trying to leave?!” Cayden yelled, Ariana had slipped from his embrace and he wanted to grab her again but the face she made stopped him from even moving a single inch.
“You’re too much.” Ariana hissed. “Of that’s rich, I’m too much! You’re the one trying to leave without telling anyone.” Cayden said harshly as he narrowed his gaze. “And you didn’t tell me about Xander!” Ariana retorted. Cayden paled, he opened his mouth and tried to say something but nothing came out. Ariana’s eyes grew wide and she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
“Oh my G*d, you knew about Xander and actually thought he wouldn’t hurt me?!” She laughed loudly. “N-no, it’s not what you t-think.” Cayden finally forced himself to say but Ariana made her choice. She stopped laughing and looked at Cayden coldly. “Do you really thought that he wouldn’t hurt me? I’m his food.” She said flatly.
“Y-you are fine though. He swore he wouldn’t take things too far.” Cayden said awkwardly. Suddenly a loud slapping sound echoed through the forest. “Screw you.” Ariana hissed as she glared at Cayden. “Screw you and whatever you think about me!” She then shouted and brought up her leg.
Cayden’s face had been turned by the hard slap so he didn’t prepare himself. He was completely caught off guard and was sent flying back by Ariana’s kick, the wind was knocked out of him and he could barely move.
“I will only tell you this once and hope you won’t ever stop me again but Cayden I will be embracing my destiny. I will do what the Goddess brought me here to do and will do everything I can to save the people here. Stand in my way again and I will make sure to never appear in front of you again.” Ariana said as she looked down at Cayden.
“Ha, ha, hahahaha! Never appear in front of me? Do you think I will ever stop looking for you?!” Cayden said with a dark tone. Half his face covered by shadow and he raised his hand to touch his swollen cheek. Ariana clicked her tongue and turned around. “I don’t care.” Ariana replied. She then walked to the tree and put her hand on the trunk.
“Adonis!” Cayden shouted. Ariana turned around and caught sight of a giant orange tentacle. ‘Ariana!’ Vasu shouted as he stepped in front of her and changed. He stopped the tentacle with his antlers but Adonis had raised his other tentacles. ‘Go!’ Vasu shouted as he struggled to keep the one tentacle at bay. Ariana’s heart ached but she jumped onto Vasu’s back then jumped to the nearest branch.
Vasu knocked the tentacle away and started to ram the other’s away as they tried to catch Ariana. “Grab Vasu instead!” Cayden shouted. Ariana looked back and saw that Adonis caught Vasu. “Vasu!” Ariana shouted. ‘Go!’ Vasu said in a strained voice. ‘You have to go!’
