My Way To You - Chapter 413
The man struggled as he tried to move his body. Oliver’s mother fell to the ground and trembled as she stared up at the man. “Sir? Mr. Quigley?” The woman holding the man’s clipboard called out. “Kill this woman before she completely takes control of my body.” Quigley growled, he was completely frozen with a pen in his hand, arm in a weird angle as he glared with murderous intent. If Oliver’s mother was still standing the pen would have been an inch away from her jugular.
“Yes sir.” The men said as they cracked their knuckles. “I-it’s not me. It’s not me!” Oliver’s mother screamed. “NO!” Ariana shouted. Quigley’s body slumped forward. “Stop, it looks like we have a visitor.” Quigley said as he slowly turned his head. Ariana broke the connection. She was drenched in sweat and tears, she then dropped to her knees and looked at Fifi. “What is the purification room?” Ariana asked in between heavy pants.
“A-a-a-a r-r-room we g-g-go p-p-p-pray….” Fifif replied but Ariana could tell that Fifi was lying. “Not that purification room.” Ariana growled. “The one hidden from the world. The one that a group of chained people would be sent too. Fifi, I know you saw everything, is there really purification room that need a doctor to inspect people before they go in?!” She continued as he voice started to become more fierce.
“I-I-I-I-I d-d-don’t know! I was just like that boy! I was selected and taken away from the group!” Fifi shouted in a panic. “And you never looked into it afterwards? You never wondered what happened to your friends? Or family?!” Ariana shouted as she struggled to stand. “It’s forbidden.” A robed man replied. “Benson…” Fifi whispered.
“So you are to devote yourself to serving the Goddess, the Queen of Creation but never question what anyone does? Just to listen to orders blindly and cause what? Mayhem? Destruction? To hurt and murder people who the church deems unworthy?! Do you really not see the huge contradiction you are living when the Goddess wants everyone to live!” Ariana asked as she narrowed her gaze at Benson. “It’s not like that.” He replied.
“Really? Because what I saw with Fifi here is that your people, the people of the Goddess, the people who give thanks for the world she created and nurtured, are happily killing the people she helped raise! Worse you’re doing it without hesitation!” Ariana shouted as her breathing started to pick up.
“If she came down at this very moment do you think she would be thrilled? Honestly she would cry as despair and regret entered he heart. I bet you she’s actually watching helplessly from her domain, shouting for you to stop but your lot could care less… Right? Just follow someone’s words blindly right?!” Ariana shouted as she finally stood up. The black and purple veins that masked her face started to spread slowly downwards and pulse with neon blue lights..
“We are doing the Goddess’s work. So has preached our beloved priestess!” The last robed man shouted with conviction. Ariana turned her gaze to the man and a wicked smile spread across her face. “Have you seen her?” Ariana asked. “I heard her words.” The robed man said firmly. Ariana broke out into a hysterical laugh as she hugged her sides.
The church members sat there looking at Ariana as her galaxy stained tears started to turn blood red as she laughed. The veins started to crawl to every inch of her body and the blue neon lights that flowed in the veins started to turn black. Ariana stopped laughing and went incredibly quiet. ‘You don’t have to listen to them anymore.’ She heard someone whisper in her head.
“Her words, the priestess’s words are nothing but garbage spouted from a wannabe, a fake, as the real priestess’s blood stained your precious Lord Romanoff’s hands.” Ariana said as she dropped her head and her arms sagged downwards, her body was now covered in the strange veins. ‘Just give them to me… Don’t let the pain go into your heart.’ Ariana heard inside her head. “You don’t know what you’re talking about! I know we are doing the Goddess’s work!” The robed man shouted.
“B-B-Benson, I’m scared.” Fifi called out softly as she trembled from head to toe. “Fifi…” Benson called back. Suddenly more screams were heard in the air. Ariana knew that her shadows were losing the fight while her small Charoite army was not enough. “Is that were they turn those people in to jewels?” Ariana asked softly.
“What?” Theodore asked. “I asked is that were they turn people into jewels? You know so they can sell their bodies to the highest bidders!” Ariana yelled as she shot up her head and glared at Theodore. ‘Don’t get any more rattled up.’ The voice in her head urged. “I can’t! These idiots believe that my mother is still alive and that she wants them to do this! People are dying and they are the cause! I can’t take this anymore! I can’t forgive them!” Ariana cried out as a dark power pulsed out from her body causing her prisoners to be tossed back a foot.
“Your mother?! Don’t be so delusional!” The robed man laughed as he rolled himself to face Ariana. “Eanraig!” Theodore warned but it was too late. “Delusional? Yes, yes I am very delusional… In thinking that everyone can be saved. I’m sorry Goddess but I don’t think I can let everyone live.” Ariana said in a cold, distant voice that sent chills down everyone’s spines.
‘No, don’t!’ The voice in her head shouted but Ariana didn’t care. She walked up to Eanraig and stretched out her hand. The black and purple veins shot out from her finger tips and joined into a short blade. “W-what are you doing?!” Eanraig said as he watched Ariana approach him, he broke out into a cold sweat and looked at his comrades for help. Ariana raised her arm into the air and looked at Eanraig indifferently. “Goodbye.” She said then brought her arm down. “Wait!” Theodore yelled.
