My Way To You - Chapter 414
‘STOP!’ The voice shouted. Ariana froze but she kept her gaze on Eanraig. Watching as he wet himself. “I met your mother a long time ago… You look just like her.” Theodore said in a shaky voice. “Lies.” Ariana said as she turned her head to Theodore. “No, I’m not lying! We went to the Academy together!” Theodore continued. “… So?” Ariana asked.
“She wouldn’t want you to do this.” Theodore said gently but Ariana’s facial expression didn’t change. ‘Let me take over. I promise you won’t feel any pain.’ The voice in her head whispered. “I don’t care what she wanted me to do.” Ariana replied flatly.
“B-b-but she would be sad.” Fifi joined. “She’s dead. I don’t think she will care.” Ariana replied as she backed away from Eanraig but she didn’t withdraw her makeshift short sword. “W-well if she was here she would feel sad… Just like Oliver’s mother.” Fifi said as she averted her gaze.
Ariana hesitated, she then recalled Oliver’s mother but the man called Quigley surfaced. Ariana’s blood started to boil. “If I could have I would have…” Ariana said under her breath but another, more disturbing memory surfaced, stopping her words dead in their tracks.
“The Grand Council’s door… How many people were turned into jewels to be able to decorate it?” Ariana asked. “T-the Grand Council?” Theodore asked. “Yes the Grand Council, how many people were turned to make that G*d forsaken door!” Ariana growled.
“You’re out of your mind! Why would the church want anything to do with the Grand Council! They are our enemies! They are the reason that the priestess is in hiding!” Eanraig shouted furiously. Ariana looked at the man and laughed out loud. “My goodness! You are a stupid man!” Ariana said in between her laughs. “Eanraig!” Theodore hissed. “Just give up Theodore, let the bastard die for us.” Benson said in a low voice.
Ariana stopped laughing and looked at Benson. “So your life is more important then that moron’s?” Ariana asked as she pointed her finger to Eanraig. Benson said nothing, he just hid under his hood. Ariana sliced the air with her short sword hand and Fifi screamed in horror. Benson’s hood split in half, revealing the person hidden. “Look at me Benson… Is that idiot’s life meaningless?” Ariana asked. A slightly tanned young man with blood red hair looked up and stared at Ariana with ruby red eyes.
“His life isn’t meaningless. Kill him, give it meaning and spare us.” Benson replied. “Very well.” Ariana said as she nodded her head gently. “S-stop!” Fifi shouted. “Why?” Ariana asked as she turned to Fifi. “This is wrong, what you are doing is wrong! You can’t just kill him because of how stupid he is! You’re not the Goddess!” Fifi yelled. A cold, demon like smile spread across Ariana’s face. “So what you were doing before, was it any better?” Ariana asked.
Fifi’s eyes rounded. “N-n-no, you’re wrong what we were doing is the first steps of the cleansing.” Fifi replied. “You’re stupid too…” Ariana said as she turned to Fifi. “So I should get rid of you first for thinking his life has more meaning then yours.” Ariana said coldly. “N-n-no! Save me!” Fifi shouted. “Coward!” Theodore yelled.
Ariana sighed as she turned to Theodore. “Coward!” He shouted again. Ariana just stared. “If you want us to believe in you like we do the priestess show us mercy! Don’t blindly follow your own selfish desires! It just makes you look weak and pathetic! Go on, show us that you are meant to be divine! Give us mercy!” Theodore shouted. “Divine? Aren’t you a charmer.” Ariana said in a sarcastic tone. ‘Just give up on them. There is no sense in talking to them anymore.’ The voice said pitifully.
“That is what the priestess wishes for! To be divine and to bring the worthy to the promised lands!” Theodore shouted. “So this is how they lure people in to join…. Pathetic… You know what? You’re right. I’m done… Help me, take over or whatever. I’m so sicking of this.” Ariana said as she closed her eyes. ‘Just rest now, I promise I will help you get rid of these pests.’ The voice sighed in relief.
“Y-you’re sick of this?! What about us?! We have to listen to some mentally ill girl talk to us like she knows better.” Eanraig said with a panicked tone. Ariana opened one eye and lazily looked at Eanraig. “So stop listening.” She replied and then her black eye drained and the veins all over her body retracted. ‘The power that women gave you was corrupted.’ The voice said. “Whatever.” Ariana mumbled as she closed her eyes and let her mind sink into a warm darkness.
‘Sleep, you’ll be safe.’ The voice said and Ariana felt her consciousness slip away. A cold power crawled into her mind, slowly taking control of every inch of her fiber. ‘Don’t worry. I will keep your soul locked away until I find Gautam. He can better remove the corruption.’ The voice whispered but Ariana was already fast asleep.
Ariana opened her eyes and looked at her prisoners with lifeless eyes. “Now for your punishment.” She said as she called back some of the dark magic she sent out. Her prisoners were freed and scrambled to get up. “Thank you for showing us mercy!” Theodore exclaimed but Ariana tilted her head to the right in confusion. “Who said anything about mercy?”
Ariana then called up a massive, purple, magic circle. “What the?!” Eanraig shouted. Suddenly dark winds started to pick up and the four standing before her were starting to be pulled forward.
“Benson!” Fifi shouted as she stretched out her hand. “Fifi!” Benson shouted back as he tried to move towards her but found out that he couldn’t move his feet, not freely at least. Their bodies were heading towards Ariana. “Ugh!” Fifi said as she dropped to her knees and turned pale. “What are you doing to Fifi?!” Benson yelled as he turned his hate filled eyes to Ariana.
“I’m taking her gift back.” Ariana said coldly.
