My Way To You - Chapter 416
Kadia knew that the day was approaching but she didn’t think that it would have happened so soon. “Darling,” Kadia called out as she face a small golden fountain, it was filled with sparkling, crystal clear waters and reflected her fair and beautiful face. “Darling, Ingemar, please answer.” Kadia called out again. The water started to ripple and a fair face appeared. His royal purple eyes caused Kadia to sigh happily. “My love…” He replied.
“She’s done it.” Kadia said in a melancholy tone. “Who has done what?’ Ingemar asked. “That child, she has severed her ties with me.” Kadia said pitifully. “Is that not you were hoping for?” Ingemar asked. “Well yes, but I feel lonely not being able to watch her daily life as closely as I have been.” Kadia replied. Ingemar let out a small chuckle and it caused Kadia to blush.
“Not fair Ingemar.” She pouted. Ingemar brought up his hand and covered his lips. “No don’t do that either! You know how much I love your smiling face.” Kadia said with mixed emotions. “My love you are as adorable as the first day we met.” Ingemar said as he brought his hand back down. Kadia smiled but her eyes reflected the worry she was holding onto.
Ingemar sighed then looked at Kadia pitifully. “You knew she had to sever her ties with you… Or she can’t do what you brought her to do.” Ingemar said as his gaze softened from pity to sorrow. “Do you think she will accept her fate?” Kadia asked. “I do not know but whatever she chooses to do, I will accept my fate in the end.” Ingemar said as he brought up his gaze and smiled at Kadia. “No, my love. I want you to stay with me.” Kadia pleaded.
“You know I can not leave this realm. I am not a true piety.” Ingemar said apologetically. “Do you hate me for changing your fate?” Kadia asked as tears started to well up in her sparkling, blue eyes. “I will never hate you. Ever, my life is yours to do with and… so is my heart.” He said as he started to blush softly. Kadia’s heart started to beat harder. “My love….” Kadia whispered seductively. “But,” Ingemar started but his whole face turned stiff.
“Ingemar?’ Kadia called out. “She’s been infected.” Ingemar said coolly. “What?! How?!” Kaida asked in a panic. “Someone with corrupted powers took advantage of her ability…. My love she will no survive if she uses that power.” Ingemar said. “No! Ingemar what do we do? I can not do anything anymore. I have weakened myself so much.” Kadia said then dropped her gaze. “What can we do… If this is how her path breaks off then she must walk it and see where it leads her.” Ingemar replied.
“No!” Kadia shouted. “With the little power I have left, I, I, I will keep her soul safe. I will purge her and then, and then she can continue on her path. She must not deviate.” Kadia said with a serious face. “… My love you used too much already. Especially when you retrieved that small soul and helped it back into the reincarnation circle. You can not do any more or else… or else it would mean your destruction….” Ingemar said in a soft voice.
“Ingemar, I have too. I made too many mistakes trying to look like a good piety but I was selfish. Maybe if I give up my life. I can fix everything and save you.” Kadia said as she raised her gaze and looked at Ingemar. She gave him a small smile as tears started to roll down her cheeks. “Kadia… sigh… I will go. I just need one favour from you. It should not take too much of your power but you must trust me.” Ingemar said.
….
“Who are you?” Ariana asked as she looked up at the man. “I am known as King Ingemar.” Ingemar said softly then he moved his hand outwards and held it out for Ariana to take. Ariana tried to raise her hand but she found the task too much. Ingemar sighed and scooped up Ariana in one arm. “You must hold onto me.” Ingemar instructed but Ariana couldn’t obey. She slumped her head onto his shoulder and groaned. “Why do I feel so awful?” Ariana asked.
“You were corrupted with a power you could not purify.” Ingemar said as he started to walk forward. “Corrupted?” Ariana asked. “Yes.” Ingemar replied. “How?” Ariana asked. “You will know in due time… for know let’s try to resurface your consciousness.” Ingemar said as he elegantly floated upwards and lead Ariana out of the darkness. “How do I purify the power?” Ariana asked as the moved upwards.
“Gautam is the answer. You must have him teach you the ways of the dark element or else you will lose yourself to power.” Ingemar replied. “How can I get him to help me? He hates my very existence.” Ariana said with a small pout. Ingemar let out a small chuckle then patted Ariana’s back. “Child you are cute… not as cute as my Kadia but cute enough.” He said.
“Kadia?’ Ariana asked. “Yes, a name that you must never reveal to anyone.” Ingemar said in a threatening tone. “Alright but who is she?” Ariana said. “She is my wife… The Goddess of Creation.” Ingemar replied. “… So she has a name.” Ariana whispered. “Yes and she is very worried about you.” Ingemar said. “You mean she is worried about you and everyone else. I am just her tool.” Ariana said coolly.
“You are right but you are also wrong. She has been watching you and everything you’ve done so far. Now she is cut off and was willing to sacrifice her life to save yours from corruption.” Ingemar said pitifully. “She’s the Goddess, how could she sacrifice her life for me? Shouldn’t she be all powerful?” Ariana asked. “She drained her power going into the realm of the damned.” Ingemar explained. “What? Why?!” Ariana asked in surprise.
“… She wanted to save the soul of the priestess’s child.” Ingemar said.
