My Way To You - Chapter 420
The moment her Lumas made it through the barrier Murray’s leaves turned black and the opening in the barrier closed. “So what now?” Murray asked as he looked up at Ariana. “I need to get into Gautum’s office.” Ariana said as she looked at the bush folk. “Is that all?!” Martha shouted in her shrill like voice. “Back up woman! I swear ya voice!” Murray said as he slightly pushed Martha back. “No jokes.” Martha snapped. Murray looked ashamed ad averted his gaze.
“Well let’s go then.” Gus said as he tried to lead the way. “I need to go to his private office not the show one.” Ariana said quietly. “Now how do ya know about his private office?” Murray asked but Ariana quietly stared at Murray. “Awe fine!” Murray said with a heavy sigh. “We did promise without asking question.” Ivan said as he placed a sympathetic hand on to Murray’s shoulder. “Aye we did.” Murray sighed again.
“Well it’s not easy to get in there.” Bertha said as she walked up to Ariana and held out her twig hand. Ariana looked at the hand then at Vasu. He wasn’t going to budge so she begged with her eyes for Vaus to give her back her arm. Vasu stared back, his unflinching black eyes refusing to move. Ariana sighed then leaned in and kissed Vasu’s head. “Please?” She whispered as her lips left his head. ‘One more.’ Vasu said. Ariana giggled slightly then kissed Vasu on his chubby cheeks. Vasu moved out of her arms and Ariana,
Ariana then stretched her arm outwards and caught Bertha’s hand. “This way then.” Bertha said as she lead Ariana forwards. ‘Ariana will you talk to us now?’ Aroha asked. Ariana stayed silent as the bush folk walked her down the path. “Where is his office?” Ariana asked. “Inside his fake office.” The said in unison. “But my guess is that ya don’t want to be seen.” Murray said as he moved some branches aside. “I don’t care if I’m seen or not.” Ariana aid flatly.
“Ya can’t talk like that.” Ivan said. “It will hurt ya for not being honest with yourself.” Bertha said as she looked up at Ariana’s face. “Losing yourself for something ya need to do will only hurt ya and everyone yous love.” Gus said. “Listen well little one, we know exactly who you are and what you are capable of doing. The Headmaster has us keeping tabs on ya and reporting everything ya’ll been doing.” Murray said.
“What? Why?” Ariana asked. “… He thinks he can control ya.” Ivan admitted. “Well we are betraying him why not go all out.” Murray said with a heavy sigh. “That man, ya’ll can’t trust him!” Martha shrieked. “Martha shut your trap!” Murray shouted. “Who’s trap is louder then who’s?!” Martha shouted back. Tiny then rushed up and covered Martha’s mouth with both his hands., silencing Martha.
Martha was furious and started to wave her arms and stomp her feet. “Martha we don’t have much time.” Bertha said in a sad tone. Martha stopped moving and Tiny cautiously removed his hands. “That’s right… we have not much time left.” Murray said then moved some more foliage aside. “That roommate of yours has been keeping tabs on ya, she is one ya’ll have to watch out for.” Murray said as the trees started to get thicker.
“There is no worries about that. I am fully aware.” Ariana said. The bush folk went silent. “But the Headmaster, why does he want to control me?” Ariana asked. “The thing is little one, he was the one who came up with Flint’s attack.” Murray said with a sorrowful tone. “He what?!” Ariana shouted. “Shh!” Bertha hissed as she placed a twig finger over her leaves. “We might not be the only one here.” She warned.
Ariana nodded her head. “Ya’ll know more at the office.” Murray said as he moved aside some low branches and revealed a rabbit hole. “Bertha will go with ya’ll while we stay here and look out for others.” Murray continued as Ivan rushed forward and ripped off a few of his leaves. “Stay safe.” Martha said with choked tears as she patted Ariana’s arm.
Ivan finished grinding his leaves into a small stone bowl and started to write ruins onto the top of the rabbit hole with the goop. “Don’t let go of Bertha’s hand.” Gus said. Tiny rushed up and hugged Ariana’s leg. She was shocked and didn’t know what to do. “You sound like you’re saying goodbye.” Ariana said in a shaky voice but the bush folk couldn’t look her in the eyes. “It’s ready.” Ivan said as he stepped back. Tiny let go of Ariana and rushed behind her. He started to push her legs forward as Bertha pulled her along.
“Leave now or else ya’ll get captured.” Murray said as he point to the now glowing rabbit hole. “Wait! What’s going on?!” Ariana shouted. Suddenly her Lumas turned and started to growl in defense. “No time, Bertha will explain everything. Just don’t let go of her hand!” Murray shouted as he jumped up and kicked Ariana forward. Ariana stumbled forward and her and Bertha were instantly sucked up by the green light. “Good luck.” Murray said as Ariana, Bertha and her Lumas were transported.
Ariana groaned as she blinked her eyes. “Quickly now, we have to move.” Bertha said as she pulled Ariana forward. Ariana looked around in the tiny space and wondered where the rabbit whole lead them. Bertha kicked a place and a magic circle glowed a bright orange. Ariana tightened her grip on Bertha’s hand as the floor beneath them moved quickly. “We need to jump out.” Bertha instructed and pulled Ariana upwards. Ariana leapt out of the dark place and instantly her eyes were assaulted by light.
The moment Ariana’s feet touched the floor it started to move further away from her sight and air rushed down her. She then looked around and her jaw dropped. “Good, no one is here.” Bertha said then she pulled Ariana towards a few stacked piles of books. “Did we just jump out of the drawer?” Ariana asked as she looked back at Gautum’s desk.
