My Way To You - Chapter 457
Ariana slowly moved back and turned to face Cayden. She raised her index finger and placed it over her slightly pouted lips. Cayden nodded his head in understanding and waited for Ariana to explain. “There’s no way… there’s no way for us to escape.” Ariana whispered. “What is it?” Cayden asked softly as her head the shifting of sand. “Kyrie’s sand, it’s tracking us.” Ariana explained. “How?” Cayden asked.
Ariana peeked out of the archway again and spotted the black sand it formed into a snake like creature and it rose up into the air. It moved with little concern as it covered the wall and the archway. The sand shuffled in a circular motion as if it was searching for someting. Ariana leaned back and looked at Cayden with panicked filled eyes.
“I think it’s looking for the black lizard carving.” Ariana said in a hushed voice. Cayden pulled Ariana into his embrace and held her tight. “So it can’t hear us then?” He asked. “Not sure.” Ariana replied. The sand started to make more sounds as if it was pulling away from the wall and moving to the next archway,
“Run, run as fast and as far as you can. I will hold it back as long as I can.” Cayden said in a low voice. “No, no, I won’t leave you!” Ariana cried as she clutched onto Cayden’s clothes and dug her face into his shoulder. “We can fight together. I can stay and fight, then we can leave together!” Ariana shouted into Cayden’s shoulder. “Are the Lumas awake?” Cayden asked. Ariana went silent, she let go of her grip and started to shake. “No but my familiars are ready.” She said in a shaky voice.
“There is no other choice” Cayden said pitifully before he kissed the side of her head. Ariana pushed herself off of Cayden shoulder and grabbed his collar. She pulled his face towards hers and kissed him deeply. She then pushed him back and pinned him against the wall. She looked into his eyes and bared her fangs. “We always have a choice and my choice is to stay with you!” She said fiercely.
Cayden was speechless. He blinked a few times and couldn’t help but smile once the shock subsided. “Alright.” He whispered. Ariana’s jaw dropped, she was expecting a little bit more fight. “But promise me, if things get out of hand you will leave no matter what.” Cayden said sternly. Ariana averted her gaze, she didn’t want to answer him. Cayden grabbed Ariana’s chin and forced her to meet his gaze. “Ariana, promise me.” Cayden said.
“I can’t.” Ariana whimpered. Cayden gritted his teeth, Ariana could see the fury reflecting in his eyes. “You’re….” Cayden started to say but then he went silent. “Cayden?” Ariana called out softly. “Do you hear that?” Cayden asked. Ariana perked up her ears and listened as closely as she could. “I don’t hear anything.” Ariana replied. “Me niether.” Cayden said in turn. He then let go of Ariana’s face and tried to go see. “I’ll go look.” Ariana said as she moved.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%!d(string=12021185405774505)/try-to-escape_%!d(string=51162480247888575) for visiting.
She peeked out and saw that the black sand was gone. “I think we’re safe.” Ariana said as she turned to see Cayden standing beside her. “For how long?” Cayden asked. “I don’t know… Should we back track?” Ariana asked. “What if we run into a group of church members?” Cayden asked causing Ariana to slip into thought. “Should we follow th sand then?” Ariana asked.
“Might be a good idea but we will walk carefully. For all we know it might turn around and search the other two archways.” Cayden said. “We can try to hide. If we’re lucky we might find another room with other archways and wait for it to come back then sneak into the right archway.” Ariana suggested.
“I think that might be our best bet… for now.” Cayden said as he held out his hand. Ariana looked at the hand and with a small smile she placed her own hand into his. “Since we have time,” Cayden said as he stroked the back of Ariana’s hand, he looked into her eyes affectionately causing Ariana to hang on his every word. “Ya?” Ariana replied.
A mischievous but seductive smile spread across Cayden’s face. “How many steps did you take earlier?” Cayden asked. Ariana’s face tightened, she started to sweat as she averted her gaze. “I-is that r-really i-important r-right now?” Ariana asked as she tried to pull her hand free but Cayden had a good grip on her. “I think this is a perfect time. So Ariana, how many steps did you take while I was sleeping?” Cayden asked with a small, dark, laugh.
Ariana screamed internally. “We probably should start chasing after Kyrie’s sand. Like you said we have no idea if there is a group slowly catching up to it so, ya. Go, us, we should leave.” Ariana said with trembling lips. “Hmmm. I think we have a few seconds to spare…” Cayden said in a husky voice. Ariana squeaked as a blush kissed her cheeks and her eyes swirled in fear and anxiety. Cayden caught the back of Ariana’s head and looked into her eyes.
“I-I-I-I-I-I c-c-can’t t-t-t-tell y-y-y-you.” Ariana said with a heavy stutter. “You can’t? Or you won’t?” Cayden asked as he leaned his face towards hers. “I can’t!” Ariana cried. “Oh?” Cayden asked as his eyes flashed dangerously causing Ariana to lose strength in her legs. Cayden let go of her hand and caught her around the waist. “C-C-Cayden!” Ariana whimpered. Cayden let out a small laugh before he sealed Ariana’s lips with his own.
Ariana’s hair stood on end, she wasn’t expecting to be kissed but soon her body started to relax and she started to kiss Cayden back. Cayden coaxed Ariana to open her lips with his tongue, he teased and tasted her lips before entering the inside of her mouth. Ariana could feel her body heat up, she raised her hands in order to embrace Cayden but as she did Cayden let go of her waist and watched as she plopped onto the ground.
Ariana looked up a Cayden with fluttering eyes. “I believe you can’t either.” Cayden said with a chuckle. “Mmmh?” Ariana said with a dazed look. Cayden’s eyes widened, he didn’t expect his kiss to be so powerful. Cayden blushed as he helped her up.
