Finally arrived back at JADEkay hotel tried to get out of the car but was stopped by Conner.”Wait a second…..tell me why were you acting so different in there.”

Ashlyn stayed quiet for a while.”It’s called survival.”She then exited the car without waiting for him to speak.He sighed and also got out of the car.He went around it and grabbed Ashlyn’s waist.Ashlyn turned to look up to him with a questioning gaze but he didn’t turn to look at her and just started to walk inside.

The driver stayed there confused at what to do because he was the one who was supposed to escort them out.

The party had already started and most of the guests were already there.Ashlyn and Conner walked side by side.The hall instantly quieted down.

Everyone turned to look at the beautiful couple in the entrance wondering who they are but when they recognized them everyone was shocked.It turns out the couple they never expected to see TOGETHER like RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER was there and even Conner was holding her waist possessively.

Many did not recognize Ashlyn so they were asking ‘who is she?’ And ‘why is she with our Prince Charming’

Ashlyn and Conner walked down the hall and where greeted by the angry face of Sessie and Ashlyn’s father.

Ashlyn instantly lowered her head startling Conner.He looked at Ashlyn’s father and sister.Complete confusion filled him.”What’s wrong?”He whispered but she didn’t answer.

“Sister! Where have you been?”Ashlyn didn’t speak and just timidly looked up at her sister.”Oh am sorry I forgot you can’t speak…..i just hope someday your trauma goes away.”

Now it was time for Ashlyn’s father to speak.”Ashlyn go take a rest you seem tired today let your sister show Conner around….”Ashlyn nodded and lowered her head preparing to leave.

‘Can’t speak?’

‘Trauma?’

‘So she was acting this whole time?’

“No need.My wife is the only one who can accompany me.”Not giving them a chance to speak he wrapped his arm around her small waist and led her past them.

Ashlyn lowered her head and pinched his arm.He ignored her and continued to walk.

Ashlyn’s father and her step sister stayed there frozen.Unable to believe that Conner actually voluntarily touched Ashlyn and even refused to leave her side.”What did the bitch do?”Sessie mumbled angrily.

“What was that about?”Sessie’s mother came from behind them with a troubled expression.

Conner took Ashlyn to a female bathroom and locked the door.

“What was that about? Can’t speak? Trauma? Is this you acting?” Conner asked.Ashlyn’s face turned from fragile and weak to her normal sharp self.

“Yes i am.It’s none of your business anyway as long as you keep my secret i will give you what you want.”Conner pinched the space between his eyebrows.”Am your husband i should know!”

“You lost the right to question me the moment you left me to die on our wedding night!”She shouted as all the hate suddenly came forward.She wanted to shout and she wanted to curse.

She was so stressed out.It really sucked for her having such a life when most people her age are out there building up their future’s.

“W-what?”He asked.”Forget it!”She turned around to leave but he grabbed her waist and trapped her in between him and the wall.

“Ashlyn tell me….what do you mean by left you to die?”He asked desperately.”I-I said it out of impulse just forget it.”

He glared at her and scanned her face looking for answers.”That night….on our wedding night…I-I fell down and got a small injury i told you it’s nothing i just exaggerated the facts on impulse.” Wuxiaworld for visiting.

“Fine.You either tell me or i just look into it on my own.”

“I-I….”She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in.”You pushed me down and i hurt my head.Their was nobody left in the house after you left so i bled for a while night until the butler send me to the hospital.”

She looked away from his face and pushed his chest away ready to leave.She eventually left.

He stayed there frozen.He felt guilty and angry at himself.He then recalled the morning that he noticed a scar on the side of her head.The events of that night and how angry he was that she tried to seduce him came into his mind.He remembered how he was so angry that he pushed her away with great force.

“No wonder she hates me….” He whispered to himself.

He felt a hard pang against his chest.For once in he’s life he was….what is he supposed to call it?
