- Chapter 250: Fate's Unyielding Path: The Calm Before The Storm
“I’m sorry if I scared you. I promise you that I’ll never leave you alone. We’ll always be together, no matter what happens.” He looked into her teary eyes and placed a tender kiss on her forehead, followed by a soft kiss on each of her closed eyelids. His touch was filled with affection and tenderness, soothing her troubled mind and calming her down.
Lia felt her body relax in Rio’s tight embrace, the warmth of his body and the gentle beating of his heart against her ear calming her racing thoughts. She lay there, content in his arms, her eyes slowly closing as the exhaustion of the day caught up with her. Rio’s hand ran up and down her back in a soothing motion, lulling her deeper into a state of peacefulness.
Lia felt the last remnants of her worries slip away. She knew deep down that Rio would never leave her intentionally, and he would always be there by her side. The feeling of his lips on her forehead and eyes had reassured her of his love, and she felt grateful for every moment they shared together.
As they lay there, wrapped up in each other’s embrace, Lia felt her breathing slow and her body relaxed completely. She let out a contented sigh, feeling safe and loved in Rio’s arms. And as she drifted off into a peaceful slumber, she knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together.
He watched her sleep and his mind was consumed with thoughts of their uncertain future. He wondered what the future held for them, and whether they would be able to weather the challenges that lay ahead.
Rio lay still in the middle of the bed, his eyes wandering aimlessly around the room. He could feel the soft and rhythmic breathing of the two girls on either side of him. He let out a deep sigh, feeling a wave of melancholy wash over him.
As he gazed out of the window, the moon was shining brightly in the sky, emitting a warm glow into the room.
Feeling the body heat of the two women snuggled up against him, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him.
Nyla shifted slightly in her sleep, her arm brushing against Rio’s chest. He smiled softly, feeling a warmth spread through him at the contact. He then turned to Lia, her head resting on his shoulder. He gently kissed her forehead before turning to kiss Nyla’s cheek and closed his eyes, experiencing a feeling of peaceful satisfaction.
The girls’ soft breaths tickled his neck, soothing him into a peaceful state. He felt overwhelmed by the emotions and sensations surrounding him, the warmth and intimacy of the moment. It was as if nothing else existed outside of this little cocoon they had created.
Eventually, Rio succumbed to the peacefulness, his breathing slowing down as he fell into a deep and dreamless sleep, with Lia and Nyla wrapped tightly around him.
As the three of them lay intertwined in a blissful slumber, none of them could have predicted the impending storm that was about to descend upon them.
Little did Lia know that her worst fears would soon become a harsh reality. Rio was blissfully sleeping, unaware of the turmoil that awaited him in the coming hours, a storm that threatened to tear him apart at the seams.
It was as if fate itself had set its sights on their small, peaceful world, eager to disrupt the delicate bonding they had so carefully crafted.
The storm that approached was unlike any other, a tempest that threatened to engulf them all and leave nothing in its wake. As they slept soundly, the winds of change began to howl, heralding the arrival of a tumultuous and unpredictable future.

The first rays of sunlight peered through the curtains, gently nudging Rio awake. He blinked a few times, his eyes adjusting to the brightness of the room.
He turned his head and noticed the soft outline of a body lying beside him. It was Lia, her face serene as she was sleeping soundly, her breathing calm and even.
Rio couldn’t help but admire her adorable face, her hair spilling over the pillow in a tangled mess. He reached out and brushed a strand away from her face, smiling to himself.
As he shifted to get up, he realized that Nyla was not sleeping on the other side of him. Rio frowned, wondering where she could have gone. He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, and swept the room for any signs of her.
‘She might be with Helia.’
When he didn’t see her, he assumed that she must have gone to Helia’s room.
He slowly got out of bed, stretched his hands, and yawned, feeling a sense of relaxation envelop him.
Rio strode towards the bathroom, longing for the cool sensation of a refreshing shower to kickstart his day.
The water cascaded over him, washing away the remnants of slumber and invigorating him. Once done, he wrapped himself in a towel that he took out from the wonderous forest realm. After drying himself off, he wore a new set of clothes, ready to start a happy day with his beautiful wives.
He walked down the staircase, his mind preoccupied with looking for Helia and Nyla. As he was going to search for them, he was interrupted by the voice of Yami, the chief maid.
“Emperor has called for you,” Yami said, her tone low and serious.
Rio’s brows furrowed as he processed the words. He wondered why the Emperor would summon him.
‘Was it about yesterday’s duel?’
He tried not to overthink it, assuming it to be just a casual matter. Without a second thought, he headed towards the Castle, leaving behind the thoughts of finding Helia and Nyla.
