“Alright girls!” The cheer coach clapped.
“Get into your places girls!” She said. The tapped her foot to the beat and counted us in.
Ivy and I both followed through the routine flawlessly as well as most of the other girls. Minutes went by and soon turned to hours re-doing and editing our routine to make it better.
“Alright girls, your dismissed for today, a message will be sent home to say if you made the team or not, and the list of who made it will be put on the bulletin board.” She explained. She turned around and grabbed her bag, waving at us before leaving.
Ivy looked at me exhausted and panting. I laughed.
“Ivy, for someone who exercises a lot you sure have horrible stamina.” I said. She looked at my and rested her arm on my shoulder.
“Your point? I still can’t believe we did that for 3 hours straight!” She said, gasping for breath. I rolled my eyes.
“Ivy, get off me so I can hurry up and leave.” I said, trying to push her sweaty head off of me. She started to wine and push her head down harder on my shoulder.
“Sara! Why must you be so mean!” She cried. I pinched her cheek and turned around before she could pin her head on me again. I walked out of the gym quickly, accidentally crashing into someone.
My instincts kicked in and I quickly grabbed the person I bumped into, who was just about to crash into the floor. I let go of there and and apologized hurriedly.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so so sorry about that, I wasn’t looking where I was going!” I said to the girl standing in front of me.
She was a tall but slender dark girl, but a little bit too slender.
“I’m sorry.” She said, bowing deeply. I was shocked and quickly waved my hands in front of my face.
“Ah! No need to bow! I’m at fault either way.” I said, my hand on her shoulder. She looked up and to my surprise had violet colored eyes. Yes, when my Gracelyn gets mad that’s what color her eyes turn but I’ve never seen someone with naturally purple eyes. I snapped out of my daze and introduced myself.
“Hello, I am Sara. Nice to meet you!” I said, offering my hand to shake. She looked at me and shook my hand.
“Hello I’m-” she was interrupted when someone pulled her shoulder back harshly. I jumped a bit by the sudden presence of someone else.
“And She’s was just leaving. Right?” The angry looking male asked her. She looked down and nodded her head, looking back at me apolitically. I looked at the guy with an irritated look. Which probably set him off.
“Do we have a problem?” He glared at me. I clenched my fists, I didn’t know this guy but he sure was getting on my nerves already.
“Only if you think your talking to me with that tone.” I stared at him. “Fix it.” I bellowed. He took a step back and just looked at me with anger. Before grabbing the mysterious girl by the arm and rushing out the gym. I wondered who that girl was. Ivy soon shook my shoulder.
“Hey, Sara What was that all about?” Ivy asked curiously, she was standing behind me the whole time.
“Just some prick.” I sighed. “Let’s go.” I said. She nodded and started walking out the gym. Her mom was outside waiting for us.
“Hi girls! How were tryouts?” Her mom asked once we closed the car door.
“Good.” Ivy answered. She mom nodded before starting the car. After driving in silence, her mom spoke again.
“So, did they find out who did that to Violet yet?” Her mom spoke up. Ivy looked at me wondering how to reply.
“No, no they didn’t find out who.” I lied. Ivy turned to look out the window. Her mom shaking her head while driving.
“That’s absolutely disgusting! Who could live with themselves after doing some into like that!” Her mom said. Her face turning sour.
Like Ivy, her mom and her shared a sense of moral remorse and sympathy. They both had a strong sense of justice as well.
The car returned to silence once more before her mom pulled up In front of my house.
“Here we are! Have a good night dear!” Ivy’s mom said to me.
“Night Sara!” Ivy said waving from inside the car. I waved goodbye at the two and unlocked the door taking of my shoes and walking upstairs.
“guys! I’m home!” I yelled
