Naruto And The Game Of Thrones - Chapter 21
Daenerys was cooing at a very wounded Drogon as the lizard w.h.i.n.ed, his head resting in her l.a.p. She looked up at the person responsible for beating her baby up and said while grinding her teeth, “How dare you do this to Drogon?!”
Edwyn sighed in annoyance and said, “The glutton was about cook a pair of father and son and have them for supper. Good for him I smacked him around for a bit. You should teach them how to behave properly.”
Drogon w.h.i.n.ed and hid his face in Daenerys’ l.a.p. But when he saw the disproving look on his mother’s face, he went back to his brothers who were constantly snorting which kinda sounded like laughter.
Edwyn sighed again and said, “Walk with me, Daenerys.”
As the two took a stroll around Yunkai, the surviving masters and the former slaves greeted them with bows, their eyes either held fear or worship.
Edwyn predicted a headache would soon be inflicted upon him as he was being greeted like a king. But, he was surprised upon seeing Daenerys’ response.
She was smiling. It wasn’t a fake smile a ruler would give to their people nor an arrogant one. Her smile was from genuine happiness. Given the strange gleam in her eyes, she was liking the fact that Edwyn and her were being seen as their king and queen.
‘Just great! I don’t want to deal with that right now.’
Edwyn took a glance at Daenerys who was lost in her own world.
‘Well, I can’t really deny that she’s incredibly pretty. One can say that her beauty is pure and angelic. She is benevolent and too kind for this world. A survivor… Just like Hinata…’
Edwyn took a second look at her.
Her gentle brows, her eyes shining like a pearl, a small nose and her buttery smooth skin, she was too much like Hinata.
‘But she’s not Hinata…’
As if she could sense the emotional turmoil in his heart, Daenerys looked at him in worry. She couldn’t understand what was troubling him but still, she wanted to comfort him with a gentle c.a.r.e.s.s to his hand yet she didn’t, too afraid of his reaction.
Her worries did not escape Edwyn’s eyes and it only cemented his view of her.
He gulped his emotional turmoil down and was about to speak when suddenly, a wave a despair and horror invaded his senses.
He stopped and expanded his senses while Daenerys began getting exceedingly worried.
After a few tense moments, Edwyn turned to Daenerys, his eyes glowing with hellish flames of rage. With barely controlled growl, he said, “Give the order to mobilize the Unsullied. We are marching to Meereen. Tell them to take everything light as we will be travelling at the fastest pace possible. Also, leave Jorah here to look after Yunkai.”
Daenerys immediately sensed the urgency and rushed back to the central pyramid, barking out orders to the Unsullied.
All it took was an hour for the army to be ready to march out. Edwyn addressed Daenerys, “I will be going ahead of you as the speed of the marching army will slow me down. Make haste and get there. You’ll know why I’m in such a hurry when you reach Meereen.”
Daenerys could only nod as Edwyn dashed ahead leaving a dense cloud of dust in his wake.
She nodded to Grey Worm and rode off to Mereen with an army of ten thousand unsullied in tow.
Everyone was tense as they were unaware of the happenings and the reason for such mass mobilization of the army.
It took the army three days to march from Yunkai and reach Meereen. What they saw there left them flabbergasted and horrified.
Soon, one by one, the look alikes began disappearing in a puff of smoke. After asking the army of unsullied to stay and burn all the corpses, Daenerys dismounted her horse and walked through the field alone, looking at the faces of all the dead children, thinking of all the kinds of horrors they were put through by the masters.
Anger and vengefulness engulfed her being. When she saw Edwyn standing alone facing the walls of Meereen, she got incredibly worried and hurried towards him.
“Ed…”
She never expected to hear the sounds of him crying.
Edwyn sniffed and said in a trembling voice, “I failed to save them, Daenerys. All those children, I could hear their screams of terror as they were being nailed alive. But I was too slow, too late. Those masters, they did this in fear of me. This… all those children died because of me!!”
She rushed for him and hugged him. Pulling his head down so that it could rest on her shoulder, she kissed his temple and consoled him as she rubbed the back of his head.
“It’s not your fault, Edwyn. It was the masters. You did your best to save them, didn’t you?”
Upon Edwyn nodding into her shoulder, she continued, her voice beginning to tremble, “Th-then let’s avenge their deaths. The masters think that they will dissuade us by this. But no, they only hastened their end.”
She could feel him taking deep breaths. Finally, Edwyn stopped crying. But his grief was replaced by otherworldly wrath.
Edwyn growled menacingly and said, “You are right, Daenerys. They hastened their end.”
As he left Daenerys’ embrace, the army of Meereen and New Ghis emerged from the gates of the city.
Edwyn took a few steps towards the army of hundreds of thousands when he heard Daenerys call for him.
He looked back at her and gave a sad smile. As a lone tear rolled down his cheek, he said, “Wait here for me, Daenerys. I didn’t ever want you to see what I am about to do. But they forced my hand.”
He turned around and raised his hand high, his palm facing the heavens.
The wind picked up and began concentrating above his palm. Soon, a dreadful sound was heard as a spinning orb of wind formed in his palm with four blades entirely of wind constantly spinning around it.
Everyone was awed by the strange display of magic.
Then, Edwyn roared and threw the orb at the army of Meereen and New Ghis.
What happened next shook everyone to their cores. The orb travelled at speeds unimaginable and when it struck, it detonated, engulfing a large amount of men and reduced them to nothingness.
The screams of horror of the men being shredded could be heard leagues away. It shook the masters to their bones.
But it wasn’t over. Soon, Edwyn began forming another rasenshuriken. The masters screamed to their archers to release their arrows at him before he threw another one of his attacks but they were too late.
The next attack engulfed the arrows like twigs in a tornado and decimated another part of their army.
Edwyn drew his sword ‘Doomslayer’ from its sheath and whispered, “Second gate: Gate of healing, open.”
Within a matter of moments, he reduced the amassed army of hundreds of thousands to a sea of blood. It was an indiscriminate slaughter. None of the men were left alive.
Drenched in blood, Edwyn raised his sword towards the terrified masters and said in an inhuman voice…
Even though it was a whisper, the words shook the hearts of men all over Planetos. Even the gods trembled, some with anticipation and some in fear when they all heard…
“You’re next.”
