Naruto: Child of Chakra - Chapter 125
“Ah, Kakashi, Guy and someone I don’t know. Come, sit with us.” Shiroken saw the three Jonin appearing.
They calmly approached him and asked, “When did you arrive? Lord Dama?”
“A few minutes ago. This is Rakumatsu, generally called Grandpa Raku. He’s the one who was supposed to be dead, but he somehow survived and I healed him. Still, 8 people are dead and they were young lads of Dama Country, the future of the country. This is an attack I shall not forgive.” He sternly told them.
Shikaku tried to defuse, “Konoha had no hand in this, Lord Dama.”
“I know.. It was Kirigakure. A few clans there have not learned their lessons. They still want to go back to their barbaric days of Blood Mist. I guess, they need to see what their own body’s bloody mist looks like before they calm down. You three go back, I will come to Konoha soon. One more thing, I know what’s going on in Konoha. Danzo is behind all the mayhem. Do not follow him under any circumstances if you don’t want to stand against me.” He warned them further.
Shikaku asked at that, “What about those who have already supported him?”
“Hmm, well, don’t you punish the unruly child to teach them a lesson? I guess I will punish them. How severe it will be depends entirely on them.” Shiroken said.
Shikaku gulped. Punishing someone was a very vague word. It could mean anything, from spanking to splitting the head and body.
“Go now.” Shiroken shooed them and took his seat again. Once they were gone, he contacted his clone in Water Country. It was living there as the Supreme Daimyo. But, there was no old Daimyo as he was dead, so Shiroken was also the official Daimyo.
He had taken care of the country pretty well. The people were happy, business was booming and nobody was starving. Crimes had decreased, since justice was pretty fast, which made people scared. Murderers, R*pists would get instant death. Pakura was now working for Shiroken as his justice bearer. She actually enjoyed this new life, since she knew that she was being valued and not just being used.
“Hey, clone, what the hell are you doing? Kirigakure just assassinated 8 Dama Country citizens and also tried to kill old man Rakumatsu. Even tried to pin the blame on Konoha.” Shiroken spoke directly to his clone.
Clone Shiroken was working in the office reading some papers when he got the message. “What?! How? I just met Mei a few days ago. She said everything was fine in the village.”
“Well, either she’s ignorant or in cahoots with the attackers. Why didn’t you find out about it?” Shiroken asked.
The clone answered, “You said we need to give these Shinobi villages autonomy and slowly influence the population due to there being powerful clans.”
*Sigh* “Those same clans turned out to be the trouble. No need to go soft on them. Since people are already happy with us, we can deal with the criminals by rallying public support. Just announce they are traitors that tried to bring the blood mist days back. Literally, no civilian there wants that.” Shiroken ordered the clone.
The Clone sighed, “I will go there. I knew we should establish some sort of secret spy network. How is Rakumatsu?”
“He’s fine. I will go and deal with Konoha. You also keep an eye out for if Kumo or Iwa tries to do anything suspicious there.” Shiroken stopped the contact.
“Old man, let’s go to Konoha. We need to bring these bodies back to their families, so you need to head back with the people later. I will do some public relations work in the meantime.” Shiroken planned.
…
[A/N: I will call Clone Shiroken just Shiroken because the coming scene is just about him handling Kirigakure.]
Shiroken sighed. He was working hard to make Water Country good and remove the past sad memories. But here he was, reminded that some people just refuse to change.
“Let’s go to Kirigakure, Pakura. We need to scold some people.” He muttered with a sigh.
Pakura, like a good assistant, followed him. Shiroken used the flying thunder god kunai and arrived immediately in the Mizukage’s office.
Mei was amidst working on some infrastructural plans. She was scared by the sudden appearance. “You always scare me. Don’t do this with a beautiful maiden like me, what if my face gets many wrinkles? How will I find a good husband?”
“You failed.” Shiroken seriously replied. This was no funny matter. People had died due to some madmen.
“What do you mean?” She asked, dropping her comical act.
He sighed, “You don’t even know. A few clans of your village sent people, disguised as Konoha’s Anbu and killed 8 people from my country, as well as tried to kill a close clan member.”
“WHAT?!” She stood up in shock.
“You seriously need to get a better team. Possibly, your own people were a part of this mess, which would explain why you didn’t know.” He suggested.
“What are you going to do now?” She inquired. He was the big boss after all, if he decided something, she has no right to reverse that decision. Basically, the Daimyo position had truly become what it was always intended to be. Before, the Muzukage could strong-arm the Daimyo, but now, Mizukage was just a minor lord.
“Hmm, call the head members of all clans. I will have a one on one conversation with them. Wait… not here, bring them to the open square outside on that mountain top.” He ordered.
Mei nodded and left with Pakura without asking what was going to happen next.
Shiroken meanwhile took out a few documents from Mei’s desk and started comparing them with a few of his own.
…
It took an hour to bring all the clan heads. These men were the most disrespectful people in the village. They complained, cursed and growled for being told to obey.
They had no respect for Mizukage and neither for Daimyo. Something they were going to regret very soon.
There were 15 clan heads. Each varying in strength, usually, the stronger ones were the most arrogant. The weaker clans had already surrendered their authority to the Mizukage under Shiroken’s order.
Shiroken was standing on top of the mountain, overlooking the whole village, which looked too beautiful. Kirigakure was a colourful city with plants everywhere. But they were made to grow in a way that would increase the beauty of the city. Shiroken had done this just after conquering it.
He had placed a few seats in front of him for the clan heads to sit. He didn’t even look at them as they came to take seats. They were grumbling and mumbling about being disturbed.
Mei and Pakura came and stood beside him. Shiroken still didn’t speak. He was waiting for something.
And at last, it happened. “WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? WHY IS OUR TIME BEING WASTED? YOU A…”
Shiroken turned around and raised his hand. The man’s body flew directly towards him and his ugly face got plastered into Shiroken’s grasp, “You, imbecile. I gave you freedom and you misused it. And yet, you dare speak like that to me? You? A criminal, who embezzled money meant for the public welfare. You are nothing but scum, and do you know what I do to scum? THIS.”
*BOOM*
The man’s head exploded like a watermelon, but Shiroken didn’t allow his blood to splatter everywhere. The headless gory body fell to the ground. The rest of the clan heads went numb. Their minds were still trying to understand what had just happened. It was all so sudden.
Shiroken looked at all of them with the most serious face he could. “I conquered this country. As the conqueror, I should have chopped all your heads the moment you tried to stand against me. Yet, I gave you freedom. I trusted that with time you all shall change, but clearly, my trust was misplaced. Do any of you want to rant like this man?”
Silence ensued. Many wanted to speak or cry out, but they feared that would anger him. They were right, Shiroken was angry.
Seeing this, Shiroken nodded, “Good, this is how you should have acted from the start. Know this, your existence means nothing to me. Your clans mean nothing to me. If you try to bring chaos to this world, then I will eradicate your clans.
“You all so much so desire the days of the Blood Mist. Then I shall first grant you the first-hand experience of those days. Now listen.
“8 of my people were murdered by a few fools that some clans from among you sent. I am giving you 2 minutes to confess your crimes and see your clan live. Disobey, and I will make sure no clan is left in Kirigakure. All of you shall too, be forgotten like what you did with Yuki clan.”
It was as if the sky had fallen over their heads. They had truly forgotten how strong Shiroken was. They had forgotten they were not dealing with a normal man. And now, they were paying for it.
Sweat and fear were apparent on each of their faces as they looked left and right at their partners. They were sure Shiroken would really exterminate their clans if they didn’t speak. But speaking also meant they were confessing to doing something wrong. Their colleague got killed just for corruption, what would they get?
“I DID!” one stood up, looking down, his body shaking in fear.
“ME TOO!”
“I’M RESPONSIBLE!”
“SPARE MY CLAN!”
One after another, each of them stood up, since they all had something to do with the assassination. They planned to make Shiroken fight Konoha, and in the meantime, they would take back Kirigakure.
They were fools, to think Shiroken would fall for such simple tricks. These may have worked in the past, but now, they were dealing with something entirely different.
Shiroken sighed, “Fine, sign on these papers.”
Pakura handed one to each. On them was their unconditional surrender as well as formal admission of their guilt. Also, there was one line, that said, “I am herby disbanding the clan, from now, there shall be no leader ever.”
That was when they realised. They foolishly had fallen right into Shiroken’s hands. But, what could they even do? They signed under Shiroken’s piercing gazes.
But their misery was far from over, as the main course was yet to arrive. And when it did, their legs turned weak and they fell down, “I have one last option for you now. Either I kill you, which will involve me revealing to the whole village how you betrayed the village, tried to start a war with Konoha. Or, you commit suicide, and we shall consider it an end of this mess.”
And so, the crying, the pleading ensued. However, all they received was a merciless gaze of Shiroken, looking down on their souls as if they were not even worth looking at. That was when it hit them, that all this time, they thought they were outsmarting Shiroken, but could they have really outsmarted a god?
Because, no matter how much you try to plan, when the god’s thunder falls, everything burns.
