Naruto: Child of Chakra - Chapter 153
Shiroken looked around himself, it was a small hut, probably felt like a castle to Fukasaku and his wife. But the thing in front of him was what scared him the most right now.
~What is this? Is this what they eat? Insects?~ he wondered and looked at the items in silent disgust.
“Dear, why don’t you try it? I just caught them fresh this evening.” Fukasaku’s wife spoke to him like he was some kid, while in reality, Shiuroken was older than them.
“Umm… okay.” He smartly used a trick, as soon as he would put the insects in his mouth he made sure to turn them into nothing but Chakra and Natural Energy. And since these two had no taste, he didn’t even feel it.
“Oh, wow… this is tasty.” He lied.
Shima got happy and dumped more insects on his plate, “Then have fun. We’ve got plenty.”
~How do they have so many insects on this mountain?~ He wondered, seeing the big full table.
He spent a few hours at their home and then Fukasaku brought him to the Great Toad Sage, he was a fat giant old toad who had his own palace, but the surprising thing was, the Palace only had one giant hall and a giant seat on which the old toad sat and slept the whole time.
He was up and drinking sake from his huge glass at the moment. Shiroken greeted the toad, knowing it was older than even him, “Hello, Great Toad Sage.”
The Sage opened his eyes a little, “Shiroken Dama… call me Gamamaru. I asked y… Zzzzzzz.”
(⚆_⚆)
“Umm… is this it?” Shiroken looked at Fukasaku.
The old Fukasaku was also frowning, “He’s very old and lacks energy in his body. He tends to spontaneously fall asleep.”
Shiroken scratched his head and thought about what to do to wake this giant toad up. He could not very well just slap him or drown him in water. “Hmm… Fukasaku, does Gamamaru know Senjutsu?”
“He created Senjutsu, of course, he knows.” Fukasaku blurted.
“Fine, I know a way to wake him up then,” Shiroken replied and walked up to the big toad. He just put on hand on his side and sent a huge surge of Natural Energy into his body.
*WOOSH*
“OOOOOOOOO YEAAAAAH…” Gamamaru howled all of a sudden, but it was a happy scream. His eyes shot open completely and he looked left and right. Then down below.
“Ah, Shiroken Dama, you did that? Boy, that gave me a high. One more please.” He requested.
Shiroken frowned, ~Did… I make him addicted?~
“Why not just increase the natural energy in your castle? You live here after all.” So Shiroken put his hand on the ground.
Soon, Gamamaru started laughing happily. “HAHAHA… Yes, this is it. I used to feel like this in Mount Myoboku when I was small. But as I grew bigger and older my body needed more natural energy. Thank you, Shiroken Dama.”
He smiled, “No problem, old man, that’s the least I could do. So, what prophecy did you see?”
But the old toad seemed stuck in his position. “Hmm… you look so much like those three.”
“Who do you mean?” Shiroken inquired.
“Kaguya Otsutsuki, Hagoromo Otsutsuki and Hamura Otsutsuki. You look a lot like them, but at the same time more human.” Gamamaru said, sounding confused too.
“Well, the Otsutsuki I defeated a few decades ago said they created me by experimentation. So, I guess they did use themselves as a base.” He argued, this was the most plausible cause.
But Gamamaru had some other ideas, “That is true, they must have used themselves as a base, but it still does not explain your ability to be one with the Nature, as Otsutsuki don’t have it either. They must have used some other species as well to be your biological base. Or maybe your parents were some kind of a special species.”
Shiroken sadly denied, “That Otsutsuki had revealed that I was lab-created, I have no parents, maybe I do share my genes with some unknown species, but that’s it.”
Old Toad scratched his wrinkly chin, “Hmm… when you destroy their entire clan maybe you will find out about it.”
Alerted, Shiroken stared at him to elaborate. Shiroken himself had no plans of destroying their entire clan on his own. He knew his own limits.
The old toad nodded, “Son, this is my prophecy. It was just a vision, but I saw you standing among the corpses of countless Otsutsuki in a world I did not recognise. You seemed to be not completely in control of your body either, as you looked crazed. But these were just flashes of images.”
“I am far too weak to do something like that, Old Sage.” Shiroken pointed out.
“Yet, you are not stronger yet. Who knows what future my visions showed me. Your destiny is in your own hands, no one can change it. Live your life to the fullest, if this world is going to be destroyed, nobody can stop it if that’s its fate.” Gamamaru said, spoken like a true sage.
“True, anything else I should keep in mind?” Shiroken asked him.
“No, that’s all. Do you want to drink sake with me?” Old sage asked.
“Sure, I’ll drink.”
…
While Shiroken was busy drinking, many things happened. Many of Shiroken’s clones were hard at work, nobody knew how many there were, but most of the people in power knew that they were being watched. The scariest thing for them was that clones of Shiroken could also change their shapes and faces, hence, nobody even knew if the guy standing beside him was a normal person or Shiroken.
Adding the every once in a while announcement of someone being caught for corruption, made people in power understand clearly, don’t be greedy, or your body will be fed to nature.
This brought a positive change, as the work of a civil servant was very popular for its good pay and benefits, most who got in refused to be corrupt. They worked honestly to fulfil whatever their role was. People were happy. Do you want to sell land at the land revenue office? No problem, just fill out the form and it’s done. No need to bribe or wait in long lines to eventually be sent back home for some document they never told you to bring.
Among all the things to love, they loved their Lord Shiroken Dama too much now. There were posters of him in many places. Some even started to have Bijuu’s posters and plushies.
It was all for the good, as Shiroken hoped for. The many villages were being handled efficiently, as well as countries.
However, in Dama City, romance was blooming where nobody expected, people met who wouldn’t have if not for Shiroken’s existence. They shared their thoughts with each other and came to know each other.
One of them was the strange duo of Shisui and Konan, while the other strange duo was of Kakashi and Yugito Nii.
After getting their Bujuu out, Bee went back to Kumogakure, but Yugito Nii stayed, feeling more at peace here as this city was one made up of all kinds of people from around the world. She didn’t feel like an outcast here.
She was being helped by the kind Lady Monari to find new employment. But, in one of her visits to the city’s many beautiful sites, she saw an ashen haired masked man, Kakashi Hatake.
Both of them were headed to the same place, the training academy, which taught shinobi to use their Chakra nature in things other than combat. They started to meet each other there every day. Both had similar cold personalities, but they completed each other.
Yugito was a hard-working, courageous, proud and wise Kunoichi who was also firm, decisive and thoughtful of her teammates. But, she lacked in the quick and fast analytical skills of Kakashi as well as Kakashi’s mastery of all Chakra Natures.
While Kakashi was independent, self-confident and sometimes arrogant initially, after his father’s death, he became more stern, aloof and cold toward others following all the rules to the letter, chastising any who disobeyed them and being willing to abandon his comrades to finish missions.
But slowly, after growing older, and meeting Naruto and the team, he slightly changed. Relaxed and almost bored attitude, not prone to getting too worked up about anything or by anyone. In truth, Kakashi was rather a solitary and matter-of-fact person. Kakashi was still just as apathetic as he was during his youth, often speaking bluntly about sensitive topics. He stays alone for most of his spare time, spending hours visiting Rin Nohara’s grave or the Memorial Stone where Obito Uchiha’s name is engraved. He told them about his life, recent events in Konoha, but mostly he shares his regrets that they cannot be with him or that their deaths were his fault.
Even now, with Rin and Obito back, he felt as broken, though now without much regrets. He lacked what Yugito had, emotional wisdom.
“So, where should we eat today?” Kakashi asked her after their classes ended for the day.
She shrugged, “Any closeby shop when we feel too hungry on our walk.”
He nodded, “That’s a good plan. By the way… have you read about this book called…”
She interrupted. “I’m not blind, Kakashi, I’ve seen what you read. Please keep that perverted side hidden, don’t make me feel disgusted.”
“Oh, I was going to talk about the new book by Lord Dama, about the nature of the Chakra.” Kakashi smartly changed the words, though he was really bad at lying.
She nodded, “Yes, I did. What? Are you going to learn sage mode now?”
He wondrously answered, “I don’t know. Do Dogs have a sage mode? I guess I should ask.”
