Naruto: Child of Chakra - Chapter 159
The chaotic white energy ball slowly landed on the village, it moved as smoothly as a hot knife on butter. No number of buildings and mountains were able to stop the death ball.
Everything got clouded in a curtain of white light, so strong that the common folks had to shut their eyes to save them. The shinobi who could watch only saw the village is shrouded in the ball.
The ground shook violently, the many mountains nearby faced landslides. Everything was pulverised slowly, the mountain-sized energy ball did not stop even then and went ahead to dig deep miles wide and hundreds of metres deep crater.
Then, it exploded in a loud violent explosive sound and dispersed after throwing a strong shockwave around. Any building in a faraway place that was still standing now fell. Dust covered everything and now there was no sign of a village being there left.
When the effects of the bomb were slowly dissipating, Shiroken once again faced Onoki. The old man was devastated by what he saw. There went all his legacy, all that he was fighting for.
“If you want me to spare your people. Then tell them what you did. Tell them how you rejected my multiple offers and in the end dared to kill the one person you were not supposed to.” He threatened Onoki.
His mind switched. The people of Iwagakure could still create their village again, as long as they lived, the village was alive. In a pathetic shape, Shiroken dragged him closer to the crowd so all could listen.
Onoki started speaking, “My dear people of Iwagakure. The demon he… GAAAAAA…”
Once again he got his jaw pulled out. Shiroken glared at him, “Speak facts, not your blabbering. I have a million things I can say about you as well.”
After a while, he healed again, “I KILLED HAN! I KILLED the five tailed beast. I refused to accept surrender to Lord Dama. I ignored the letter from Earth Daimyo. I wanted to defeat Lord Dama.”
The people knew about the importance of the tailed beasts to Shiroken as this was being publicised a lot around the various countries. Most of the traders would go to Dama county and bring the culture and the various ideas from there and spread them around.
When the world found out that in Dama Country, the tailed beasts lived openly along with the people, all happy and cheerful, many were dubious of the claims. That was until a few would get there to see for themselves and return to tell the tale.
The Tailed Beasts were family members of Lord Dama, the current strongest man in the world. This was a known fact.
Kurotsuchi was the one who cursed her own grandfather, “I told you not to do it, and yet you killed Han, who had done nothing wrong in the first place. You brought this calamity on us all.”
“I WANTED… to keep Iwagakure safe and independent. I didn’t want it to have the same fate as the other shinobi villages. I didn’t want you all to be enslaved.” Onoki screamed.
*BOOM*
Chomei arrived there with Monari and Jin on the back. The huge tailed beast angrily roared, “YOU KILLED MY SISTER?! I hate you, humans. For hundreds of years, you have continued to hunt us and kill us, even when we just wanted to live alone in peace. YOU ALL ARE EVEN WORSE THAN ANIMALS, for even they know compassion.”
Shiroken flew to Chomei and patted him to calm him down. The tailed beasts were just frustrated now from always being on the run for no reason. And to be honest, even Shiroken was tired. If humans don’t learn anything this time, he won’t mind taking the Bijuu away and living on a new planet somewhere.
Monari and Jin jumped down from Chomei’s back and stomped on Onoki’s body. She cursed at him, “You buffoon, you and all the people of your village would have been in chains by now, shackled and forced to work if Shiroken was really the tyrant you think of him.
“When was the last time you saw other villages? They are far ahead of your backwards Iwagakure, why? All because of Shiroken. He has brought peace and stability across the world. Sunagakure and Sand Country do not starve anymore, because Shiroken used his own powers to turn their lands into fertile grasslands and fields.
“Kirigakure does not fight among themselves and doesn’t kill their children in their bloody rituals because of Shiroken. Wave country is not under the rule of a criminal because of him. Rain Country is now free and flourishing because of him. Kumogakure, Lightning Country, Konoha and Fire country have seen double-digit growth in the past 6 months, all because of SHIROKEN.
“He is trying to eradicate hunger, wars and poverty. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? What are your achievements? Why is your village still poor? Why was there still poverty? Why did children beg on the streets? NOTHING. You have nothing to show other than your inflated pride and ego.
“Every man has a limit, and even after being constantly mocked, challenged, he acted patiently. Yet, you… you killed a being he considered his mother. Kokuo was her name, the beast you had sealed inside your Jinchuriki.
“LOOK AT THIS. HE IS CHOMEI! HEAR WHAT HE SAYS. If he was a mindless beast, all of you would be dead by now. Yes, he is sad, sad for his family. ONOKI, YOU ARE A MURDERER. And your people must decide today, do they want to support a murderer or hope for a better future.”
Monari’s words were sharp but not only aimed at Onoki. They were aimed at the people as well. She knew that the destruction of their village was a shock to them, but if they decided to go against Shiroken now then death was inevitable.
Shiroken meanwhile ignored all of them and walked towards the mountain under which Han was kept. He can kill Onoki anytime, but he will be given a public trial first. The world must know, that the moment they move against the Bijuu, will be the day Shiroken lifts his hand of prosperity from above their heads and instead it shall fall like heaven’s punishment.
He entered the mountain and saw the headless body of Han. With a heavy heart, he put the head back on the body and lifted it in his arms.
“I overestimated humanity. They are not sane enough to make the right decisions. For no reason, they killed you. Kid, I will bury you with all the right ceremony and respect in Dama Country, just beside Kokuo’s shrine. Kokuo would’ve wanted the same, as she was too kind.” Shiroken muttered and left the Earth Country.
…
Monari and Jin stayed behind to oversee what would happen to all the people that were left behind now. The population of Iwagakure was small, about 100,000. It was neither too big nor too small.
However, most people had lost all they owned and had nowhere to go. So Monari and Jin decided to split them among the various Shinobi villages. Those who were talented in Earth release were sent to various nations as the work to make roads was something that went on all year round.
Those with other Chakra natures were also spread here and there. The normal people who had no shinobi abilities were put on an empty caravan and sent towards Dama Country. They shall for themselves see what their Tsuchikage had rejected in return for his honour and legacy.
Onoki however was put in a caged car and was being transported as well. He had all his chakra points blocked, leaving him a complete cripple, unable to even save himself from a dog at this point.
He was soon brought to Dama City, where he was put on trial like anybody else. But widespread anger and protests started when his crimes were made known, that he killed one of the beloved Saint Beasts.
Onoki as well was left in awe, shock, and regret in thinking about what could have been and what became of it. He wondered if Iwa could also have been like this mega-city.
But, for him, only shame and insult awaited as he faced the judge, who was in this matter, the council of the Saint Beasts.
The decision was clear. The tailed beasts just unanimously called for his death. And soon, it was announced to the public.
What pained Onoki more was that even the people who came from Iwa just now had joined the people of Dama City to protest against him, showing their anger. This was because previously, these people were in doubt that life could get much better if Lord Dama ruled, but now they were sure… that Iwagakure could have been HEAVEN!
Monari and Jin were quick to manipulate public opinion to create a narrative quickly about what happened in Iwa. Even small misinformation could have proven to be fatal for peace across the world.
However, one thing was for sure.
…
Jin, Shiroken and Monari stood in front of the world map. It was a 3D world map created on a large table.
Monari put a flag of 9 Saints on the region of Earth Country as well. With this, only a few minor small countries remained that were still showing different flags.
“With this, our conquest has nearly come to an end,” Monari announced.
“We just need to focus on development now,” Jin added.
However, Shiroken was still sad, “I am going to sleep in my room.”
They didn’t stop him and just sighed alone. Jin muttered, “He’s too disappointed in himself.”
Monari nodded, “I’d be too. We were so close to having the entire family together as one again. But… this happened. He probably thinks that he should have flown to Iwa and killed Oniki on the same day Lightning Country fell. We gave Iwa time to surrender, that is why they were able to take this step.”
“Sadly, we don’t know when Saint Kokuo will return now. I hope we can cheer Shiro soon.” Jin sadly said and took his seat, falling deep into thoughts. Everything seemed sad and depressing when Shiroken, the light of Dama Country was in sorrow.
