Naruto: Child of Chakra - Chapter 162
“Let’s get going. We have to reach the place on time, it’s big brother’s birthday.” Haku and Kuronosuke ran fast.
“Wait for me, Haku. My gift is too big, I need to tell grandpa to bring it.” Kuronosuke hurriedly ran to his grandpa.
Today was Shiroken’s birthday, though nobody knew when he was born, this was the day when the Bijuu found him in the jungle. And since it was his birthday, how could people not celebrate?
The entire Dama City was decorated and minor celebrations went on around the country. The Bijuu were happy about this as it would give them a way to let off some steam.
It had not been easy on them and Shiroken had been going full power on any enemy he spots, be it a Shinobi or not. Any rebellion that would start, demanding their old country back, would get crushed in a matter of hours.
Still, Shiroken was not blind, he would also investigate where did this sentiment come from, and most of the time it would lead to someone being corrupt or some businessman taking advantage of people.
Due to this, every week now random inspections of cities and villages would happen around the world and people found guilty would get their appropriate punishment, not based on what they did, but what effects their crimes had on the people. It was called “weekly purge”.
There were also many secret plots going on, all of them were being thwarted as there were currently 15,000 clones of Shiroken roaming around the world in disguise. Some even worked in many public offices on grassroots levels and had their own private lives.
Their job was to find all these plans and stop them, punish the plotters and then find the reason why this even came to be. Every single rumour that spread around was investigated as if it was a real fact. Because often, there is some truth to rumours.
Every time there were words that some plague is coming, or some secret plot is going on, or someone allegedly did something crazy, everything was investigated.
Perhaps, the criminal investigation was the toughest job one could join. But it also came with the best benefits.
Shiroken was trying his best to make the world into what he wanted. And the biggest help in doing that was changing people’s ideologies. And this starts with schools. It was not something radical or brainwashing, just telling them the obvious. Ideas such as all people are born equal, all intelligent beings such as the Bijuu and summoning beasts are to be treated as one would do to another human.
The story of the lives of all Tailed beasts was also taught to little kids in schools. Shiroken decided to do this because no matter what, the tailed beasts were immortal, so it was better to make the world remember them.
Shiroken didn’t promote himself though, as many people were already doing it out of their worship to him, or maybe love. But the values of the new world and the story of the Dama country and its economy was taught to people on all levels.
…
“Happy Birthday, Uncle Shiro. I got you a present.” Shirajin happily came running to him.
Out of all the people, Shiroken never acted cold with the children. He picked him in his arms and asked, “What is this? Let me guess, a drawing?”
“Ummm… HOW?” Shirajin pouted.
Shiroken opened the gift wrap and saw the page on which Shirajin had drawn a big drawing. It had everyone, all the Bijuu, Shiroken, Monari, Jin, Rakumatsu, Aunt Fumiko, Rin, Shisui, Itachi, Izumi, Obito and even Tsunade. Though she was in the rightmost, away from Shiroken.
“HEY, YOU MESSED THE TAILS!” Shukaku complained.
Shirajin scratched his head and counted, “Ah… you only have one.”
“Well, you messed everyone’s tails.” Gyuki pointed out. And indeed, Shirajin had miscalculated their number of tails. Kurama ended up with only one tail, while Saiken, Shirajin’s favourite, had 9 tails.
“YES! I’M THE 9 TAILS. I do the most work here anyway.” Saiken was happy.
“What work?” Shukaku barked.
“Well, I made the cake, the pastries, the cookies. I and Chomei did the decorations. What did you all do?” Saiken proudly claimed.
“I made the buildings,” Shukaku revealed.
“I catch the fish, that’s how we’re getting so many tasty fish to eat today,” Isobu added.
“I run a smelting factory, that’s how you all get so many metal utensils and other instruments,” Kurama revealed.
“And I brought all the fruits.” Son Goku said.
Saiken slowly melted into his own fat blob belly. “Ah, so you all found jobs? Now I can’t be the most valuable bijuu.”
He was too cute, and his siblings also agreed, so they cheered him up, “Still, you do the most work.” Gyuki praised him.
“Yes yes, you are the best, also Chomei.” Matatabi joined in to praise the two. Saiken and Chomei were the two most jovial Bijuu and it was a majority decision by other Bijuu that they must be cherished.
“Yay, I will sing a song for Shiro later,” Chomei cheered proudly.
Shiroken smiled, “Thank you, everyone. Thank you, Shirajin. I love this drawing. Now, let’s cut the cake as I can already see many hungry faces.” He joked.
They all gathered around the giant cake in the middle of the public square of the City. A big crowd had gathered around there to see this moment. This would mark the start of a new era with the world united as one.
*SLASH*
Shiroken used his new sword to cut the cake and sliced nine pieces from it. Then he proceeded to give each to the tailed beasts. They were his family after all.
Once he did that, he gave a slice to Jin, Monari and Shirajin… but there was also Tsunade and he gave her one too. He had really neglected her all this time. It had been 9 months since Onoki’s Madness.
He looked around, there were so many smiling faces, but there was something more. A lot of couples had blossomed, as he could see from how they stood. Kakashi was standing near Obito and Rin, but he also had Yugito Nii to his side, standing close. They were surely more than friends.
Then there was Shisui, his case was the most shocking as no one expected him to match with Konan. She was a silent type with a good head on her shoulders. Maybe their thought process about the world matched. Now Shisui had both his eyes back and was living happily.
Other than this, there was one couple that had shocked everyone and possibly disgusted a few. Rakumatsu and Chiyo. And honestly, they acted more like teenage lovers than elder people.
Shiroken didn’t mind, as Monari had said that Chiyo’s ovaries are probably already dead by now and they can’t have kids.
The last couple was Shiroken and Tsunade, but no development had occurred between them. They mostly stayed away from each other, only now meeting again.
“Ehm… EVERYONE… HERE IS MY SONG!” Chomei suddenly flew up in the air. The bright spotlight focused on him, something he probably planned beforehand.
Shiroken smilingly looked up to hear the song. Chomei fixed his voice by coughing and started, this was not rap, but a song, though it sounded like a poem.
♫Life was sad, we were always mad.
People always chased us, yet we tried to adjust.
They wanted to do us harm, we tried to stay warm.♫
♫I was a simple Bijuu, until I met youuu…
A boy from heaven, taught me a lesson.
That love of a family is the best,
and it’s worth pursuing this quest.♫
♫So I took him in, and brought him to my siblings,
Kurama growled, but soon he cutely howled.
We became a big fluffy family,
Living together always happily.♫
♫I suggested Poopy, but we decided on Shiroken.
The name he was given, one that left the world shaken.♫
♫I am proud today, he calls me dad and he’s my son.
Because the one who taught me love… HE IS THE ONE…♫
Shiroken, who was silently watching Chomei sing with all his heart, felt warm in his body and eyes. This was the first Bijuu who showed him kindness. It was not humans who showed him warmth, it was these misunderstood giant beings.
He wiped his wet eyes and clapped for Chomei, making everyone else do the same. Soon the entire city was clapping their hands.
And he muttered in his heart, ~It was all worth it.~
