Naruto: Child of Chakra - Chapter 169
End of the day,
A few people were still on the streets, celebrating, despite it being 4 in the morning. Shiroken and the rest, along with the Bijuu had retreated to the Palace, where they all sat together and talked.
It was a big crowd honestly since there were so many people Shiroken had shown his kindness to all these years. He had given refuge to those who had no home and had given hope to those who had lost it.
“AH, finally, we’re all together again.” Chomei sighed, probably tired from singing so much.
“How long did it take? 3 or 4 decades?” Isobu wondered in his seat.
“What are we going to do now? Before, we had a huge jungle around us, life was simple. Here, we have a city. Though Saiken’s farm is a big enough place to relax.” Kokuo added.
Saiken quickly nodded and invited them, “My doors are always open for you all… as long as you don’t eat my cows, goats and camels.”
Monari clapped and spoke, “Well, Saint Kurama, Chomei, Shukaku, Saiken, Son Goku and Isobu all have jobs. This leaves Saint Matatabi, Saint Gyuki and Saint Kokuo. As long as you all can find something to do, I think you will not be bored as much.”
Old Dragon, Kurosaki was present, he interjected, “Umm… I think you all should be more focused on the enemies from the sky that may come here soon. Now, Shiro is the Jinchuriki of you all. There should be some strength buff for him, right?”
Indeed. From what Shiroken was told by Gyuki back in days during one of his history lessons. A Jinchuriki of all the beasts would be pretty strong, reaching the godhood. But he wondered as he was already god-like powerful, what would this added buff do?
“Umm, maybe we should go and try this out?” He asked the tailed beasts.
“Let’s go to sleep first, it’s already morning. *Yawn*” Jin complained.
Shiroken exclaimed, “AH! Sorry, I nearly forgot about your biology. Fine, let’s go to sleep.”
“Hehe, it seems you will have to pick someone and carry her to the bedroom.” Monari teasingly pointed to a certain blonde who had fallen asleep with her back on the wall.
Shiroken sighed and walked to Tsunade. he smiled, ~She looks so innocent when sleeping, but when up, she’s chaotic.~
He swiftly picked her in his arms, so smoothly that she didn’t even know about it and was probably dreaming about floating in the clouds. “Good night, folks.”
Everyone silently watched him leave, though not many were left awake anymore. Almost everyone was sleeping taking support of the person next to them. Only the Bijuu, Jin and Monari were up.
Shukaku longingly watched him leave and muttered, “I hope they give me cute little Shiros as soon as possible so we can play.”
“YES! ONE FOR EACH!” Chomei chirped.
Monari’s brows creased. “Umm… They will be real humans, you know, not toys.”
…
Shiroken brought Tsunade to his room, as per what she had suggested before. He put her down on the bed. But then she woke up slightly and murmured something.
He brought his ear closer to hear what it was, “Umm… mm… n-no… I lost again…”
~Is she gambling in her dream?~ Shiroken wondered.
He shook her body slightly, but she didn’t wake up and kept mumbling. ~She sleeps like a boulder.~
He went to the side, made another bed for himself using his nature manipulation and sat down. Of course, he could do many things to Tsunade right now, but he was not a perverted bastard.
He took out his diary and started to write on it. Nobody knew what it was, however.
…
He had absolutely no need to sleep, so he went out to roam around, help the people clean the city, as it must be in bad shape after the celebrations. However, when he walked out of the Palace door, he saw Shisui also up.
“You should sleep, boy. Unlike me, you have a need for it.” He suggested.
Shisui nodded, “I couldn’t sleep. Where are you going?”
“To clean the streets. Being the Elder of the world does not make me a king. I am equal to all, doing this will not make me a lesser person.” Shiroken replied and headed out.
Shisui followed behind, interested in helping as well. The entire city roads were mostly empty right now, as the time was 5 AM. This was when the City Maintenance Workers come out to work.
The entire city was designed in a way that Chakra users could easily clean the streets by using Wind Release. Now, all they needed to do was stand in the centre of each city district and blow out air. All the garbage and dust will fly away to the boundaries. From where other people would deal with the garbage.
Shiroken started helping the men, Shisui as well. While working, Shiroken made small talk, as he had already realised what was troubling this boy’s young mind.
“How is everything going with Konan? Did you ask her out yet?” He asked him.
Shisui shook his head, “Well, I am confused. I don’t know if she likes me. Sometimes, she shows a lot of warmth, but then suddenly she becomes cold. It’s hard to read her emotions.”
“Well, kid, you need to give her some space and time. Her past has not been very kind to her. She lost two of her best friends, her parents, and her youth. She’s broken… just as you are. So, you should both try to be each other’s healers.
Maybe you can start by opening up to her about your past? She will feel confident in herself in sharing her past and worries with you then.” He suggested Shisui.
“I did try, but she never opened up to me. I think she likes me a bit but is afraid to act on it.” Shisui was truly confused and stuck.
*Pat* Shiroken patted his shoulder, “Don’t think too much about it, just go with the flow. Keep your expectations low and never be disappointed. Now go and be with her.”
Shisui nodded and let out a sigh before leaving.
…
1 Month later,
*Knock Knock* “Lord Dama, I have an important thing to inform you.” Jiraiya knocked on his office doors. It was just a room where he sat to do official paperwork in the palace.
“Come in, Jiraiya. Take a seat. What got you worked up, not able to find more inspiration for new books?” Shiroken asked him jokingly.
But Jiraiya stayed serious, “Lord Dama, I have compiled a very disturbing report. Look at this. For the last 5 years, I have been receiving reports about kids going missing from orphanages. There was no trail left on who did it.
“But, this week, someone paid money to buy some kids from a corrupt orphanage warden in Amegakure. We saved the kids and found the man who was behind them. We tortured him and got answers. He belongs to a secret organisation called Kara, and he’s an outer member of it.
Slowly, I linked everything. They have been operating for decades, and what’s maddening is that not a single kidnapped kid has been found, ever.” Jiraiya reported.
Shiroken sighed and relaxed back in his chair. A frown appeared on his face, “This means they have been operating since even before I started my work. Fine, you investigate from your end, I will also do it from my side. Whatever this organisation is, I will destroy it.”
When Shiroken said this, the little parasite guest on his body was going crazy in his head. ~You dare not do that… It took me centuries to build it.~
…
Kusagakure,
Nobody knew about this small Shinobi village. It was far too weak, but not without its own committed atrocities. It too was now under Shiroken and a Nidama clan member had been assigned to it.
There lived a certain red-headed little girl in the village. Shocking the Nidama clan member, she turned out to be an Uzumaki, one of the many who survived the destruction of the Uzumaki village.
Karin was a Genin, she was an orphan, as her mother died… killed by the village’s ninjas, by forcing her to heal their shinobi. After her mother died, she was forced to heal the shinobi.
The method was vicious, she was to get bitten by others, so others can take her chakra and heal themselves. For years, she lived this enslaved life, until one day, she was found out by a man who claimed to be the new Chief Executive of the village, assigned by someone called The Elder.
After that, she cried and told everything to that kind man, who in return, caught the Kage, Shinobi commander and all men of power in the village who had mistreated her, assaulted her and harmed her. They were, by the new World Law, sentenced to death.
The crime was called World Uniform Law Code’s Section 56, murder. Section 89, child harassment. Section 89a, Child slavery. Section 89b, assaulting a minor. Section C1, Crimes against humanity.
They were swiftly put to death in prison. Then, she was allowed to go out of the Shinobi compound. Karin for the first time was allowed to take normal classes with other kids. She laughed, played, and was even given free food by the village. For the first time, she saw kindness.
Life had suddenly changed so much, and she often wondered, ~Who is this ‘Elder’?”~
