Necromancer Supreme System - Chapter 14
Suddenly a huge vortex appeared around him like a whirlpool. The fiend stood his ground with a confident smile as his vibe changed, he became more dangerous, far dangerous than before.
Ibro was watching him using his divine senses, so any tiny details didn’t escape his grasp, even this nearly noticeable speck of dust then moved from that fiend’s hands towards the vortex.
‘Did you see that?’ Ibro asked, referring to this speck of dust.
‘Yes, it’s not a speck of dust, or a grain of sand, it’s more like… like an altar,’ the system replied.
The word caught Ibro’s attention at once, as he recalled Ren’s altar. Many ideas popped up his mind, as he asked:
‘What do you think this spell is used for?’
The system didn’t reply at once, as it began to analyze the spell. The vortex was getting intensified, as it was getting bigger and wider.
‘I think it’s a summon spell,’ the system suddenly said.
‘Summon? What does it summon?’ Ibro asked.
‘That minute version of an altar, I think there is some old soul buried into it,’ the system replied before pausing for a second, ‘yes, it’s a high end fiend soul, and it’s a very ancient one, perhaps from the first war.’
Ibro didn’t doubt his system words, but that was simply unbelievable. Ibro didn’t try to guess what was that all about, as he asked his system directly:
‘What is the first war? And is our situation dangerous?’
‘First war is the war that your previous self fought at, but you were known back then by Rioneed, and yes we are in grave danger.
In your prime, you could stand your place against those ancient fiends, but currently you are weaker. You can’t face it,’ the system replied seriously with its cold and harsh voice.
‘Then we should stop this spell,’ Ibro said decisively, ‘Let’s try attacking that vortex with all my might.’
Ibro’s face changed to become more serious, far serious than he ever was, but the system interfered instantly:
‘No, spells can’t be interrupted; you only can destroy it using higher forms of energy.’
‘But…’
‘There is no choice except for you to run. Enter your pocket space world and then move through the teleportation gate to the game gate world far away from here,’ the system said with a stern tone.
Ibro didn’t even think about it, as running away leaving behind all this wasn’t an option for him, so he said:
‘I won’t escape, either I kill that damn fiend, or perish trying to.’
The system didn’t respond to his decision, as it was still hesitating regarding this situation. There was another solution, but it was risky and without any guarantee to succeed. When it felt Ibro’s resolve, it had no other choice except expressing it.
‘There is another way to do it.’
Ibro was about to move and hit that slowly expanding vortex with all his strikes and runes, however he stopped once he heard what the system said.
‘Really?!’ he asked with a great doubt.
‘I can’t guarantee the success of it, as it wasn’t tried before, it’s just…’
‘…A theory, right? No problem, tell me what to do and I will do it. At least it’s better than blindly attacking this vortex.’
The system hesitated for a moment then it sighed before saying:
‘The altar that fiend threw towards the vortex resembles an altar I saw before.’
‘Ren’s altar at the gate world?’
‘Well, it’s Ren’s altar, and it’s in the gate world, but it’s not the same altar you are talking about,’ the system said, ‘this altar I saw in the heart of the game world when you killed that fiend and was teleported to here. that altar was strangely similar to the one here.’
Ibro tried to recall anything related to an altar there, but he couldn’t, so he said with a doubt:
‘Are you sure? I can’t remember seeing an altar there.’
‘That’s because it was also tiny, so tiny like the one here. I thought it was a remnant of Ren’s altar, something that might facilitate Ren’s altars ability to weaken the demons there. Now, I know I was wrong,’ the system explained slowly.
Ibro glanced again at that vortex using his divine sense, it was still expanding without showing any signs of slowing down.
‘Are you suggesting summoning Ren?’ Ibro finally got a grasp over the system idea.
‘Yes, theoretically it will work, but it was never tested before, so I can’t be sure of its success.’
Ibro didn’t hesitate to declare his decision:
‘Fine, let’s do it your way then. Tell me how I can get that altar.’
‘The best and fastest way is for you to go personally and get it,’ the system said.
‘You mean it’s the safest. No, I can’t leave this battle, not yet. I will send Erond, he is in my pocket space supervising the cultivation villages there. He knows the game gate world, so it would be easy for him to get the altar,’ Ibro said after giving the matter some thoughts.
‘No, the altar can’t be touched by normal people, only system holders or those who use PSR energy or higher can take it,’ the system firmly declined before adding, ‘there is no other option except for you to go there personally.’
Ibro didn’t reply as his eyes shone brightly, he found a suitable person that he can send to get that altar.
‘I don’t need to go, I have another person to go there,’ he said.
