Necromancer Supreme System - Chapter 15
The system paused for a few moments then it asked with doubt:
‘Do you refer to Doom?’
‘Nope.’
‘Good, as Doom hasn’t yet activated his system, so he isn’t an option.’
‘I refer to another system holder, or ex-holder.’
‘You mean…?’
‘Yes, it’s him,’ Ibro replied.
‘But… if he agreed he would die doing this,’ the system said.
‘If he doesn’t agree, we will all die.’
‘…’
The system knew Ibro was telling the truth, so it didn’t say anything. Ibro then added:
‘Bring him now to me with Emy.’
‘…’
The system didn’t delay, and in less than a moment Randor appeared hugging Emy in an intimate position. Their sudden appearance here made the couple awkward, as they moved away from each other like they were caught doing something wrong.
The first thing Emy saw was Ibro, as she looked at him in a strange way. As for Randor, the first thing his eyes fell upon was the battlefield, the huge vortex, and that dangerous looking expanding smaller vortex with a fiend in the middle of it.
Randor saw the fiend and his heart felt like it was squeezed by a firm hand even his body trembled and he couldn’t stand still. He knelt on the ground with an unsightly face, in a move that drove Emy out of her daze and doubts to support him.
“Why are we here?” Emy asked as she began to realize where they were right now. This wasn’t any close to the calm peaceful world they were living at, nor it resembled the continuous battles inside Ibro’s other worlds. this place felt gloomy and gave her a bad feeling, a very bad one.
“He wants us to help him fight these demons, b-but I can’t do it, ask me anything else and I will do it except fighting these demons.”
Randor said so with panting breaths like he was running. His face was so pale and his body never stopped twitching even for a moment from fear. Ibro thought for the first time seriously about what this system holder had passed through to reach such a state, and he wondered if he one day would end up like him.
“Sigh, I didn’t bring you here to help me in killing this fiend, I just need you to go and bring something very important to me,” Ibro said as he pointed towards the still growing vortex, “Do you see that?
It’s a summoning technique that will summon an ancient life form belonging to their clan. If that summon is completed before you bring me the thing I wanted, we all are going to die, everyone of us without a single exception.”
Ibro stressed over his last words as he looked straight towards Emy. Randor wasn’t stupid, he understood how grave the situation was, and this mission Ibro needed him to do would claim his life. Emy also understood Ibro’s hidden meaning, as her body stood violently between Ibro and Randor while saying firmly:
“Don’t ever try this with us, Randor has a few more months to live, don’t steal our precious little time from us like it was nothing…Don’t!!”
“Emy pl…”
“No, you shut up, please dont stand with him, it’s just a few more months, after that you can help him as you like,” Emy shouted nervously at Randor while she tried to cling to the hope of staying with him for more time.
“I…I don’t have the choice to do that anymore Emy, this fiend is going to kill all of us without doubt.”
“Then let’s run, what are you waiting for? Let’s all run away as far as possible from here,” she said with determination and crazy looks.
Ibro opened his mouth and didn’t know what to say, he promised them before to keep them safe, but he couldn’t keep his promise now. If Randor didn’t act, Ibro wouldn’t be able to keep even his life.
Ibro stood there without a clue, and the time was merciless, each passing second equaled a step near their doom. amidst all that, the eyes of emy suddenly widened as she turned to look back towards Randor with disbelief. Randor was holding her leg, injecting a strange energy into her body, which turned soft in a blink of an eye.
She lost her consciousness, and with that she fell on the ground, but Randor moved faster to hold her body in his arms. He looked at her with flowing tears from his eyes like a river while he muttered:
“I’m sorry my dear, but I can’t risk killing everyone, including you, for my own sake. I can’t risk losing you, I’m a dead man anyway.
He then leaned over her and kissed her sweet lips, a kiss he felt it was the last one to have in this life. then he looked towards Ibro as he asked seriously:
“Do you swear on protecting her?”
Ibro felt his own heart was squeezed as well by this situation. He felt he should let Randor stay here in his stead and he went to the gate world to bring that altar. However he knew if he disappeared from here, that fiend would kill every single person living here in this village, including Randor and Emy.
“Sigh, I didn’t want things to come to this point, and I’m not certain that mission is risky for you,” Ibro said with a dejected tone.
“Do you swear on protecting her?” Randor stressed again, which made Ibro silent for a moment before saying with stern face:
“I swear.”
“Good, move her inside your world, and then explain what you want me to do.”
