Negai o Kanaete Moraou to Akuma o Shōkan Shitakedo, Kawaikattanode Kekkonshimashita ~ Akuma no Nīdzuma - CH 111
After leaving Theo, Helvi went straight to the clothing store she visited the previous day.
She was in a hurry, so she did not walk or run, and instead teleported the moment she left the room, to the alley behind the store.
After checking to see if no one saw her, she made her way to the entrance.
The store was closed.
She was told the previous day it opened before noon, so on a regular day it should be open.
It was becoming increasingly clear that the letter was real.
The door was locked and a sign hung on it informed customers the store was closed, but Helvi entered anyway.
Once she entered, she saw Luna’s mother working, who was surprised to see the door opening at first, but then looked at it with expectant eyes.
But when she saw it was Helvi, she seemed sad.
“Miss… Helvi? What is it? I said your clothes would be ready tomorrow…”
Luna’s mother put on a smile as she spoke, but her eyes showed clear exhaustion.
There was no vigor in her voice, and her physical condition could be described as poor.
“…I apologize for coming here so suddenly.”
“No, that’s fine, but…”
“Is the store closed today?”
“…Yes, we are temporarily closed.”
“…I see. By the way, I do not see Luna anywhere.”
Luna’s mother looked down, and the sadness in her eyes deepened.
“Apparently… Luna got lost again… My husband is looking for her.”
“…I see. She is a troublesome girl.”
The letter Helvi received was not a lie or a prank.
“I will help you look for her.”
“Eh? Are you sure?”
“Of course. I will bring her back soon.”
“…Thank you so much!”
Luna’s mother bowed while thanking Helvi.
She was very worried. Luna got lost the previous day, but that was when they were shopping together.
This time it was different. When Luna’s parents woke up, she was nowhere to be found.
That had never happened before. At least when they were shopping there was a reason why she got lost.
This time however, she was not lost. It was very likely that someone had kidnapped her.
Luna’s parents despaired as they reached this conclusion.
The box in front of their home where customers inserted their orders was left open.
Luna went outside to check if there were any orders every day. If the box was opened, it meant that Luna did so that day as well.
And the fact that it was left open… Meant she was taken away while checking the box.
Luna’s father went out to report to the soldiers that his daughter had been kidnapped… But if she had been taken away by a kidnapper, there was little chance she would come back safely.
“There is a good chance… That Luna was taken away…!”
“…I see, I understand. I will find her, so just wait for me.”
“Thank you miss Helvi…!”
Helvi left the store.
“…They really did it.”
She took the letter out of her pocket.
“I have the little girl you met recently. If you want her to live, come to this location before midday.”
Said the letter.
It had to be about Luna.
Idea looked like a little girl, but was in fact an adult. Not to mention that it would be difficult to kidnap a powerful noble like her.
Helvi was almost certain she knew who sent the letter.
She had only arrived in the capital recently, and could count on one hand the number of people she got involved with.
Among them, there was one who harbored revolting emotions towards her, and eventually turned hostile.
“I do not remember his name… Or rather, I do not wish to remember it.”
Helvi headed towards the back alley again and threw the letter behind her, after which it caught fire and burned up in an instant.
“Bothering me twice in the middle of such an enjoyable trip…”
Sharp, cold bloodlust surrounded Helvi, which made even the mice in the back alley run away.
“Third time’s the charm, but a devil does not wait for the third time.”
The letter became a pile of ash behind Helvi.
