Negai o Kanaete Moraou to Akuma o Shōkan Shitakedo, Kawaikattanode Kekkonshimashita ~ Akuma no Nīdzuma - CH 119
Helvi arrived at the place Theo wrote about in the note he left in their room. An area near the guild with many weapons stores.
According to the note, he should have been strolling around that area, but…
“He is not here…”
She walked for thirty minutes without catching a glimpse of Theo.
He said he would be there, so Helvi imagined he would not stray too far.
She even entered various weapons and armor stores looking for him, but still came up empty handed.
“Hm… Where could he have gone?”
Rescuing Luna did not take that much time, although Helvi felt squashing the trash did take longer than she expected. Around an hour to be exact.
She could see Theo spending that long in one store gazing at weapons and equipment.
(Of course he would, that cute Theo… Fufu…)
She smiled as she thought about Theo gazing at weapons by himself with a shine in his eyes.
And then…
“Hey lady, you look lonely. Wanna have some fun with us?”
“…”
“Yes. You look bored walking around all by yourself. Come play with us.”
Again.
She had been walking around that area for only thirty minutes, but it was the third time men that seemed to be mercenaries tried to get involved with her.
It was actually the fourth, since it happened once on the way there.
(I want to meet Theo by chance while walking around, as if fate is bringing us together… So why do so many bothersome people have to try to talk to me?)
It was not going well, and Helvi was frustrated.
She sighed and said nothing, but the two men approached her to continue speaking to her.
“We’ll entertain you. We know a lot about this town… And about ‘that’ too.”
“Haha! That’s right!”
As they talked, one tried to put his hand on Helvi’s shoulder, while the other tried to put his arm around her waist…
But before they could touch her, she grabbed their wrists.
“Wha…!?”
Both were shocked, as neither expected her to grab them.
“I am very irritated about not being able to find Theo, and you are bothering me…”
“It hu….!?”
“Ah…!?”
They groaned as a dull pain ran through their wrists.
They never dreamed that this beautiful woman, who looked as though she never carried anything heavier than chopsticks, was strong enough to crush the arms of strong mercenaries.
“L-let go…!”
“Kuh, you wanna… Fight…!?”
“Who started it?”
Helvi increased the pressure, and the two men dropped to their knees, unable to endure it.
“Gah…! I-it hurts…!”
“Kuh… My strength is…!
“…Hmph.”
After a few seconds, Helvi released them.
“Know your place if you wish to stay alive. Get out of my sight.”
The bloodlust she released as she looked down on them made them run while letting out pathetic sounding cries.
“Ahh, this is going nowhere.”
She could continue searching for a little longer, but men would just approach her again, which she found annoying.
Helvi wondered if it was time to use her magic.
“…Hm, a weapons store.”
One store caught her eye.
There was a space in the storefront where a weapon used to be, but only its name remained. It seemed it was a long sword.
(…I did hear that Theo likes this sort of weapon.)
As she looked at the price, she thought it was surprisingly cheap, and Theo could buy it with the money he had.
(Could it be that he bought it? I think he would wait for me before spending that amount…)
But Theo did like this sort of weapon, and since she had no other clues, Helvi decided to enter the store and ask if it was bought by a short young man.
“No, it was two young women.”
“…I see. I’m sorry for disturbing you.”
It seemed she was off the mark.
Even Theo would not buy an expensive weapon on a whim.
“Ah, but it didn’t look like they were buying it for themselves.”
“What do you mean?”
Helvi figured it was just gossip, but reflexively responded as she was thinking about using her magic to look for Theo.
“Usually people ask to adjust the weapon if they’re going to use it themselves, but they just took it and left. I think they were hitting on a boy they just met, because they handed it to him.”
“…A boy?”
“Hn? Ah, he was outside the store staring at it, so they probably bought it to get his attention. But hey, I don’t care as long as they pay.”
“…How would you describe this boy?”
“That’s a weird thing to ask… Black hair, slender body… Ah, they were making a ruckus outside the store, so I caught his name. It was, uh… Theo.”
“Thank you for the information.”
“Eh? Ah… She ran out with a scary look on her face. I wonder what that was all about…”
