Negai o Kanaete Moraou to Akuma o Shōkan Shitakedo, Kawaikattanode Kekkonshimashita ~ Akuma no Nīdzuma - CH 95
As the idiot noble Dario released these words, the air in the room died for a second.
For just one second, everyone except Theo was unable to breathe.
“…! W-what…?”
Dario suddenly had goosebumps, and found it odd.
The other customers also shivered as if they were cold.
No one there had any combat experience, so they were not aware of what this feeling of pressure was or where it was coming from.
Anyone with just a little combat experience would know. A very dangerous being had been awakened from a long, peaceful sleep, and angered.
Helvi looked up at the man standing next to her, without getting up.
If she waved her arm lightly near him, she could cut his unseemly fat body in two.
She felt the urge to do so, but wanted to avoid it.
His presence was already causing enough discomfort without his dirty blood sullying the place.
Helvi thought about how to kill him.
She could teleport him somewhere high and kill him, but there were too many people watching, and it would be strange if the man suddenly vanished.
Still, Helvi had already made the decision to kill him for daring to insult Theo in this manner.
They were a man and a woman eating alone in a very classy restaurant. They were obviously husband and wife, or at the very least in a romantic relationship.
The other nobles refrained from approaching her for this very reason, although some thought to do so anyway.
But this man completely ignored the husband, Theo, and said something unpleasant to Helvi.
He ignored the idea that Theo could be her husband or boyfriend, and simply followed his lust.
If this was not disrespectful towards herself and Theo, what was?
(I will kill you.)
The idiot noble continued speaking, even though Helvi was making no attempt to conceal her bloodlust.
“It’s getting cold isn’t it? Whatever, how about you say something? I’m saying I’ll make you my wife.”
He snorted while showing off his gaudy clothes.
One of the other customers quietly called him a pig, but it did not reach his ears.
“A woman is something for a man to show off as his wife. A good man has to have a good woman by his side, and you wouldn’t look bad next to me.”
Everyone present then thought he was the one who would look bad next to her.
Helvi was also irritated by a man with no redeeming qualities thinking he was equal to her.
(Can I just kill him here?)
She thought, but then…
“H-hum!”
Theo stood up and spoke, seemingly a little nervous.
“H-Helvi is my wife! No one can take her!”
Theo stated loudly with a little embarrassment on his face due to Helvi sitting right in front of him.
The cold that the other customers felt weakened a little, as Helvi was less angry and even a little happy.
Theo did not proclaim she was his that often, so when it did, it struck a chord within her.
Helvi always thought he was adorable, but at a time like this she thought he looked manly and cool.
The unpleasant feeling subsided a little, but the man made sure to worsen it.
“Ah? Are you this woman’s husband?”
The man opened his eyes wide at Theo’s words, and attempted to insult him.
“What is someone like you…!!”
“Close your mouth, trash.”
Dario tried to speak, but the knife Helvi used to eat was pressed against his chin.
Helvi used just a little bit of strength, and closed his mouth.
Dario appeared to haven bitten his tongue, but did not make a sound.
“Keep that disgusting, stinking mouth closed. If you say any more, I will kill you instantly, no questions asked.”
“…!”
“Continue talking if you think I am not serious. Since I am in a good mood today, I will allow you to leave with your life if you do so without a sound.”
She said quietly enough for only Dario to hear, and pulled the knife away from his chin.
“…!”
Dario looked as though he wanted to say something to Helvi, and then looked over to Theo.
His eyes moved back and forth several times before he looked around him.
He tried to speak, but words did not come out. Ten seconds later, he rushed out of the restaurant, looking sick.
“What was that just now…?”
“I have no idea. I don’t know what goes through the mind of such an idiotic noble.”
The other customers did not know what was said to Dario, and resumed their meals.
“…Excuse me, can I have another knife? Surely continuing to use this one will spoil the taste.”
Said Helvi before an employee brought her another knife.
