Negai o Kanaete Moraou to Akuma o Shōkan Shitakedo, Kawaikattanode Kekkonshimashita ~ Akuma no Nīdzuma - CH 99
Helvi, Theo, and Luna walked through town while holding hands, like a family.
“Luna, can you tell us the color of the clothes your parents are wearing today?”
“Hum… Dad was wearing black, and mom red.”
“I see, thank you.”
Theo looked around, but the shopping district was very crowded.
It was not going to be possible to find her parents with that information alone.
“…This way Theo and Luna.”
“Eh, ah, yes!”
“Yes!”
Helvi walked forward with no hesitation, as if she found Luna’s parents.
After a few minutes, Theo also saw a couple that seemed to be Luna’s parents.
A man wearing black and a woman wearing red turned towards a child walking down the road, with panic on their faces.
“Ah! Mom! Dad!”
Luna also saw them, so Theo and Helvi let her run towards them.
They really were Luna’s parents.
Luna and her parents hugged each other tightly, with tears welling up in their eyes.
Luna and her mother could not contain them, and started crying.
“That’s great Helvi.”
“Yes, it is.”
Theo and Helvi calmly walked towards them.
“How did you know where they were, Helvi?”
“…Magic.”
“What kind of magic?”
“It would be difficult to explain, but basically it is a spell to find something I am looking for.”
“So there’s magic like that…”
There was no such thing as a spell to specifically find something someone was looking for. Helvi simply used her mind reading magic as always.
If they knew Luna was lost, they would surely be thinking about it, so all Helvi had to do was widen the area of her spell to find people looking for Luna.
However, she could not say this to Theo. She thought about using this opportunity to tell Theo about this particular magic, but opted not to tell him just yet.
“Thank you so much…!”
“N-no no, we just did what we should…”
Luna’s parents were deeply grateful, and Theo did not know how to respond.
“Let us thank you somehow…!”
“No, it’s alright!”
Luna’s parents said the same thing no matter how many times Theo refused. They seemed to have a very strong sense of honor.
“Come to our house! We have lots of clothes!”
“Eh? Clothes?”
Luna’s parents explained what she meant.
“We are tailors, so our house has pretty much become a clothing store.”
“It’s a small store ran by us and us alone, but we do have some noble customers.”
Nobles tended to place a great deal of importance on what they wore, to show off their authority or simple ostentation.
If nobles bought clothes from a certain store, that could be seen as a sign of quality.
“Hou, clothes. How about we go there Theo? I was thinking we should visit a clothing store anyway.”
“Then please come visit us! Take three pieces as a thank you!”
“Really? So we can go to your store?”
“Of course! This way!”
Luna’s parents seemed very happy to be able to thank Theo and Helvi.
“Let’s hold hands!”
“Sure.”
“Hehehe…!”
Luna held hands with Theo as she walked, with a big smile on her face. No one would know she was crying just a few minutes before this.
“Oh my, do you like mister Theo, Luna?”
Said Luna’s mother, who found it adorable.
“Yes! I’m going to marry mister Theo when I grow up!”
“Eh…?”
“Oh my. What am I going to do with you…”
Luna’s father was the one most shocked by these words.
“Kuh…! You found someone to say that about before you could say it about me…!”
“Dear, please don’t be weird.”
This was a normal thing for a child to say. They would forget about it eventually, and even if they did not, it would just be a childhood memory.
Theo and Luna’s parents did not take Luna’s words seriously…
“Hou…! Luna, do you intend to steal my husband…?”
But for some reason, Helvi took them at face value.
