Negative -Girls: To Live And Die - Chapter 28
“How real are we?”
The sister of emeralds steps back, “Are you high?”
It’s Tammy, taller now or maybe I’m shrinking. And I am still outside of Sunshine Apartment. Where is Sohee? What time is it?
…
…
“What the hell,’ the least I can say from my confusion.
I blurt.
She scratches her brown hair as she looks at me funny, “no, what the hell are you doing? I know you’re kinda weird the first time I saw you but, fucking hell, you’re creeping me out.”
Don’t blame me, just a second ago it was Sohee I was talking with. And when I blink, you come out. If anything you’re the one who creeps me out.
As if knowing my questioning expression, Tammy thumbs over her shoulder to the apartment, “if you still haven’t realized, Sohee is already walking back in the apartment to deal with Mei. Are you high? She asks again.
“I don’t think so, I’m rather feeling down now.”
She cocks her head.
And leans forward to sniff me, “you don’t appear physically in drugs. At least, there’s no smell. That means you’re just crazy.
“Drug has smell?” As far I remeber it has only taste.
Tammy shrugs, “it does.”
“Is it sweet?”
“Could be–some would smell like a hospital.”
“Whe–” I stop myself. Why are we talking about drug so suddenly.
“I feel weird after being sniffed.” Weird in a good way–it’s kinda hot like a girl taking off your button shirt with her teeth.
She flushes and grits her teeth, “just a habit. I would take you to the nearby police station if you’re really high.”
I’m glad I didn’t do drugs in this life–or rather didn’t find it…yet. If we aren’t consider Death Pill as drug.
Her hand rubs the tiny nose, reddening it. I couldn’t help myself to ask.
“Can you do it again?”
Aaaaand I regret it. I shouldn’t have asked. And now Tammy’s hosility point has increased sharply.
Her mouth twitches as if she is about to say something worse but then probably realized we’re outside and somone could hear her, she just lets out a long exhale. “No wonder Sohee wants me to look out for you.”
Hey, I’m not crazy. Yet. If anything you are. I hold my burning cheek and look at the adult emerald eyes, “but instead you slapped me.”
“Yeah,” she rolls her eyes, no hint of guiltiness, “like I said, you creep me out. I just can’t control myself to slap. That’s like self-defence, so don’t take it personally.”
I got slapped, how is that not personally.
“Still rude,” I deny her excuse.
She lifts her hand loosely and makes her palm up in a “Who gives a fuck, really” gesture. “We are about the same age anyway.”
She looks like in her mid twenties. “So that’s a pass to slap someone?”
“Just,” she groans and rubs the back of her strong neck, “just forget it, I give you a cigarette all right. Just one.” She made a deal.
Is she trading? A slap for a stick of tobacco? She starts to rustle her pocket and I show her my palm, “no thanks.”
“No need to be humble.”
“No.”
She scowls, “your lost asshole, don’t expect a blowjob from me or anything.”
Aw, man. I should have taken the offer. Now my cheek is hurting for nothing.
Seriously, what gives her the impression? I watched my face every morning in the mirror and saw no written blowjob on my forehead or anywhere.
“It’s your fault to begin with anyway,” she looks down at me. Ah, I’m still sitting, I’ve been wondering why she is taller than I remember. “You’re the one who ignoring a woman, the least you deserve a slap.”
I tilt my head as if confused, “woman? But you look more like a tom–”
Whoosh.
I duck and a real slap swings over me. I do have a fast reaction when it comes to pain.
Tammy doesn’t like the idea of me dodging her slap but she ugly laughed, threateningly. “Ha-Ha, you’re lucky you didn’t get to finish that. The last person who finished the sentence was sent to bed for a week.”
She looks like a tomboy. Ha, finished it in my mind, I get the last laugh. God, sometimes I’m too witty. I mean, I’m both tutor and liar combine, always one step ahead.
She glares and crack her knuckles as if she can read my mind or expression or gesture–whichever it is she picks it and I could feel the pokes. “Did you just mock me inside your head?”
“No,” A great liar, me.
She rolls her head with her eyes, “asshole.”
It’s already evening and the rain is about to spit. It’s time for normal people to get inside a shelter. But here I am still sitting.
And to my surprise, Tammy takes a sit beside me. She put her ass at least a meter away from me as if she also has androphobia. Which of course is not true because she slapped me and denying a blowjob , which mean she knows the term (telling us she watches porn, too. Who wouldn’t? Mei I guess. Hm, she could be watching a lesbian porn I don’t know.)
Tammy sprawl her arm on the bench. Her other hand pulls out a grey box with an addictive smell. She glances at my stare and hold up the box under my chin, “thought so.”
Thought so what?
I let her hand freeze.
And that makes her mad, “are you going to take it or not?”
“Is that why you keep it close to me? For me to pull one out?”
“That’s the whole point, goddamn are you an idiot? How’d you get to be their tutor?”
By dying more than twice your boob size (which isn’t that much but greatly can impact someone) I push the box away gently, “I don’t smoke.”
“Ha!” She lets out a mock as she pull back the box, “you’re pushing your luck. Don’t take me as an idiot, I know what kind of person you are just by looking at that solemn eyes. Drug should be a friend to you, what of a smoke..” She put a stick in between her lips and lights it, “liar.”
