Negative -Girls: To Live And Die - Chapter 31
“Yo–your place look n, nice.”
Who says that? Not Sohee, she is still grimacing from the sweet taste of the orange. It sounds so familiar buy yet out of place. Oh now I see it, the shaky voice belongs to Mei. Should have known. Anway, at this point, she must be desperate to say something, being relevant to the scene. Don’t worry Mei, I assure you. This event is all centered around you. You’re just too questionable.
Shrugging it off, I reply, “thanks, Lilly I guess,” or me. Me absolutely. As far I remember or had lived in this body, I was the one doing all the housework. It’s not a large credit and it’s a little thing, so it’s more beneficial to give it to Lilly.illy. She’s their fan anyway–secretly a fan, so it may (or not) be a good thing to raise her impression to our idol here. “She loves to keep the house under control.”
Mei nods, engraving in her brain that Lilly is cool.
Let’s add, “even her brother’s choice of romantic partner.”
Sohee’s eyes widen and her hand jerks. Mei has no reaction, she takes the line real unlike her friend–a joke.
And from inside her room, Lilly shouts: “I’m not jealous!”
I almost laugh at this skit. If only my funny bone is around now. The only who at least chuckle is Sohee. Mei just weirded out of course.
“It seems, you two are getting along.” Her eyes meet me, “siblings are really strong. Her lips curl up as she says, “I am jealous.”.
Looks like Sohee never had a sister or brother. Or anything she can call a sibling. How lonely. But don’t worry, we have delusions. It helps us to create what we wanted the most. The only drawbacks is it’s unreal and no one else can see it. How lonely.
Also, what does she mean by ‘you two are getting along?’ Have the old user and Lilly’s relationship crumbled and I, the new user never known about it. And accidently fixed it?
I’m just too good at being lucky and unlucky.
Anyway, I smile to lighten the mood. “Yeah, I’m also glad that you two,” Sohee looks at me and Mei stares at Sohee’s arm. They’re good right? Back to normal? I clear my throat, “you two seem to have made up after the earlier event.”
I’m so clever, using ‘event’ as a sugarcoat for ‘tragedy.’
Sohee only nods with a smile. She is glad that Mei’s misunderstanding has resolved.
Mei pulls down her head as if she pulled herself in a shell to avert the feeling of uncomfortable–like a turtle. But she’s a human, and she likes to label herself ‘stronger’ so she confronts it. Like every of us should. “I, I, I’m very so, sorry you… have to see that.” And she’s not finished yet, one word still stuck under her tongue. I don’t expect much but she manages her feelings and says, “Sunbae.”
Mei closes her eyes as her chest deflates.
…
Did she just call my nickname?
Holy shit.
Cutest thing ever. Not everyday I would hear Sunbae (close to my identity as a person at least) out from Mei’s dried mouth. Keep on being strong, Mei. Maybe one day we would be swapping spit in your home with your sister watching.
“It’s okay, Mei.” Sohee pats Mei’s thigh, “don’t think much about it again. We have forgiven you already and it’s kinda my fault. We’re both wrong. We’re both sorry.”
What is sorry and forgive? If I say sorry, if I forgive somebody, would that change anything? Would that erase whatever wrong I did to them? Or the terms are just some from of trading, ignoring the bad things happened between all involved parties? If that so, It’s fucking pointless. I don’t believe in sorry. I don’t believe in myth.
I finally feel okay to sit.
Now, let’s get to business. I turn to Mei and say, “Let’s continue our conversation.”. I know she wouldn’t see me but she can definitely feel the graze of my stare. That’s enough to pretend that I care enough to ask, “Do you have a problem at the moment, Mei?”
Mei peeks at Sohee. But Sohee would not answer for her, she only sits down as if a charm to make Mei strong.
Realises the hopeless situation, Mei bobs her brown head.
Sohee touches her arm, giving the warmth of confidence to her fragile friend.
And Mei takes a deep breath and says, “Sun, Sunbae. I think someone is s, stalking me.”
My heart wouldn’t be solid any much longer if you kept saying my nickname in that manner.
“I would guess it isn’t happening at the school.” Since it’s an all-girls school. The only one who be stalking her is a horny lesbian. I don’t think lesbian is scary. They’re goofy if they’re stalking. Or it could be the teacher but goddam if the negative girl is the among the top priority of White Book High. Their safety is guaranteed whenever they’re inside the school’s grounds.
Mei nods.
Either she has nothing to say because she thought it was enough information for me to decipher (which is reasonable because I’m the goddamn tutor) or she’s too shy to continue. Either way, I have to start.
How long has all this taken place?”
“I first realized it last week ago,” Mei begins, “I–I was walking back home alone when I felt someone staring at me…he has only an ear.”
Well, that’s disturbing–what’s a lessened man doing around her? And he sounds like a pervert. Anyway, is it just me or the whole room is starting to getr a little bit wavy.
The two of them didn’t notice it–maybe it’s just me.
I swear, today is the worse.
“I had thought he was only looking at me just like…the others men do,”
Hm, sounds like bragging to me but she’s worthy of doing so. Or not bragging at all, if I had to pretend I knew much about her, she’d actually hurting to say that.
She glances at me, probably to see if I get offended in any way. Which of course I return her with a fake smile.
Continue on before the room gets anymore darker and your voice still here.
“I–I had thought of that until last Monday.”
Her eyes begin to become more teary. She has a lot of tears in my opinion, a lot of them. Please, kind lady, would you be so good to give me some amount of your tears?
Anyway, what happened last Monday? Mei trailed off her story for a moment before replacing it with silence. I feel my hand sweaty, what happened last Monday?
What fucking happened with you and that strange pervert last Monday?
whatwhatahwatahwathwatwahat
I feel cold grinding my cheek.
Mei begins, “he chased me and…Su–Sunbae?—————————-
Losing vision of time and the world.
