Negative -Girls: To Live And Die - Chapter 35
Mei excuses herself and run out of the lobby.
“Well, that just happened.”
Tammy returns me a groan, “it’s no one’s fault.”
“I know, parents got to do what they have to do.”
She looks at me with disgust, “I’m not her parents.”
“Not in my eyes,” I shrug. “To me you’ll be a better mother.”
“What do you mean?”
Woah. She stretches her fingers as if the next mistake I make with my word I’ll get the taste of what a formal cop’s fist is like. No need, the palm is enough, thank you.
“Well…” the glass door still holding a silhouette of the frail girl, waiting for me. “If her ‘real’ mother is a real good one, then why is she not here when Mei needs someone the most?”
“What do you know about Mei?” Her glare turns into anticipation, “did she tell you?”
“Teld me what?”
“Everything?”
I chuckle, “why? Afraid I’ll snatch her away from you?”
“She wouldn’t want a man anyhow.”
“True,” she’s an androphobic anyway and even if I do I would the next list of a certain formal murderer-cop’s victim. Hey, don’t give me that glare I was just joking. Jeez.
I decide to explain, “no, she didn’t tell me everything. Only a…” how do I put in a way I could protect Mei’s secret. Tammy is a legal guardian of her but there must be some kind of reason why Mei didn’t tell her. And I don’t want to be the one who breaks it.
“What?” Tammy impatiently asks.
“She only told me a little of her problem at…school.”
“You sound doubtful.”
“Trusting anything is not really my thing.”
She scowls, “sure, you are. You’re nothing trustworthy.”
I take that as a compliment anyway, thank you.
“I don’t want you to walk her to school.”
I sigh, “you know? There must be some kind of way you can trust me. I wouldn’t hurt Mei.”
Well, not yet. And if I will it would not be out of violence but sexual.
“I just can’t,” she feels out her pocket but soon makes a disappointed face. I guess she forgot to bring her cigarettes down. Where is it when we need them the most, right?
She continues, “first, we just met. I don’t even know your name and why the girls only call you as Sunbae. It’s disgusting.” Woah, disgusting what now? Tammy continues, “and second, how would I even trust a guy who acts so normal around group of teenage girls?”
“I’m their tutor.”
“But you’re old.”
Hey.
“I’m twenty-one–”
Then she interruptes as if knowing what would I say, “eyes and face of sixty.”
“Look, I’m not that fond of teenage girls. They are sometimes tiring anyway. I would prefer more of a…”
Actually now I look at her better on the lights, Tammy is a pretty woman. Well, that’s no surpise, Mei looks like an angel. It’s only matter of blood. Their green and brown hair is like a cake and creams.
Tammy straightens her posture and glares at me with an intense look. I reckon she’s the ‘top’ kind of girl and that’s no mystery.
“You don’t want this,” she refers to herself, “believe me.”
“We just met, Tammy.” I borrow her words from earlier, “I can’t really believe you.”
“Fuck you.”
Once again she feels for her pocket and let out a sigh. Her eyes pricks me.
“What?” I ask, “if nothing, I better get going now…”
But when I’m about to turn, Tammy grabs me by the sleeve.
Geez, she’s not going to let me off easily.
Tammy watches my face, “do you have a paper?”
She wants a paper?
“Unfortunately, no.”
“What kind of tutor doesn’t bring any note everywhere?”
‘Er…everyone?”
“What? Then how would you all recite or note something anywhere at anytime?”
I pull out my phone, “we have phones now. Notes is just too old fashioned. But I wouldn’t hate the idea though, it’s cool I guess.”
Her frowns is getting a lot more intense.
“Haha…” That’s me trying to make the atmosphere lighter. But failed because she takes it as an insult.
Tammy pulls out her palm.
“Hm?”
“Give me your phone.”
“Woah, is this a robbery now?”
“Phone.”
I shrug, if we are to argue it’s not going to end well and sooner to everybody, “well, please be careful with this.”
I give her my phone after I conveniently unlocked it.
She holds my phone with a stare, “who’s this on your wallpaper? Girlfriend? Isn’t she a middle-schooler?”
“That’s my sister.” And it was not me who set up the wallpaper. The old user did. I just never think to change it.
Her eyes rusting to me, “you’re a lolicon plus incester too?”
“Well, no. And what kind of word is incester?”
“Someone who initiate incest.”
“I–” you know what, I don’t want to argue with that.
After a few seconds she returns my phone back.
Sigh of relief, “thought you’re going to run away with it.”
“I’m a formal cop not thief.”
“Same thing.”
“What…urg,” she shakes her head, “anyway, I’ve put my number in there.”
Woah, what a jump. “I thought you don’t want to be desire.”
I could hear a clatter from her mouth.
But when she looks down she gives me a wicked smile as if she found out something, “too bad you don’t have a car.”
What? Why suddenly bring out the fact I still yet not–
She stomps my shoe.
My feet bellow.
“Owch, what the fuck?” I pull my leg away.
She lets out a victorious puff.
“What’s that for?”
She answers, “use the number I give you only if something happened to my cousin. If you used it for jokes, the next one is not going to be your feet.”
“Goddamit, it was joke, woman.”
“it’s just a stomp, Sunbae.”
She’s actually makes a decent point. It’s justa fucking stomp from a woman.
Ouch…
After a while, I finally have the courage to put my legs down.
I sigh, “can you at least buy me a new shoes now?”
“…”
“It was another joke.”
She gives me her cute middle finger, “then fuck off and watch my cousin well. If anything happen to her you’re going to be the first one I will see.”
With that Tammy left the scene to masturbate in her bed.
