Negative -Girls: To Live And Die - Chapter 54
“I’m sorry but he has to go.”
Milk and Cookie… you know what, I’ll just call her cookie from now on. Anyway, cookie is clinging on my arm.
“Why couldn’t he stay?”
But instead of the man, Carrie interjects. “Man, what the fuck. Wasn’t it you guys who so against we bringing other to watch the game? Just, kick him out and let’s get on with the match.”
I struggle my arm around, feeling her perky breast. It’s amazing but I…I don’t really want to deal with the crazy one you know? “You’re pretty close to me right now, do you mind?.”
Cookie replies with a smile, “I know.”
…
I wonder why am I even trying.
Carrie holds her arm under her flat chest, “so, is the money prize are real?”
The man nods as he looks at Cookie, “though it’s not us who initiate the match and don’t want to, our little sister likes to see it. Even if we want to pull some string, she wouldn’t like it unfair.”
One of his men comes forward with a black case.
“Do you want to see the prize yourself.”
Carrie snorts, “I don’t.”
Then she turns around and walks to her position, “that money is good as mine anyway.”
A question rings to my mind. If Carrie’s prize is the money, then what’s these guys’?
I try to reach her with hand but Cookie quickly pulls it down.
She raises her toe and whisper to my ear, “I know what you want to ask, and even if you did, I can feel she wouldn’t answer it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Because what she wagers is something a lot more sacred.”
I raises my eyebrow for her continue.
She does the same.
“I–”
“Get off her,’ as he says that his big hands tears our hold apart. I don’t know if it’s convenient or inconvenience.
All of the guy stares at me. Woah woah, calm down now, I don’t have a shit with your little sister.
And I just have an idea. Why don’t you guys quit gaming and instead go hang out in an illegal casino or shit, you all would fit in there.
Cookie sways her hand toward me desperately as if she wants us to get back together, “Waaaa, give him to me back.”
“Sister…” the man eyes goes to me. “You have to go.”
I shrug, “I couldn’t do anything about it, am I?”
He presses his frown, I guess that’s a yes.
I sweep my eyes around the room for last time.
Carrie’s stretching her arm. When she notices I’m staring, her hand shooed me away.
The other YOLO squad is already in their position… looking down at her keyboard with a regrettable eyes.
Cookie is shouting for me as the man holds her down.
“GIVE ME HIM BACK!”
Welp, I’m not going to be someone’s toy.
I turn around toward the door.
“Bye, Fuck.” is what I get to say before getting kick out from the Pay and Play cybercafe store.
The afternoon sun soaks me and it’s twelve something now. Three hours from now is my shift for the lesson session. I hope Sohee would be there to take care of…academic things. And…Carrie.
If she won the match, she won the (money). It’s a bit confusing really. Don’t she already have so much money, then how would she able to have a privilege in White Book High? What would she do if she has to money? Will she come back to the school after the match?
‘Because what she wagers is something a lot more sacred.’ Cookie voice repeat in my head.
Sacred wager?
I just hope she didn’t bet on her virginity on anything of her body.
It’s pretty hard to pull someone out from prostitution.
They seems to be the type of guy to do that. Heck, they look like a mafia.
Except for Cookie of course.
But if anything I’m confident about is Carrie’s gaming skill. I’ve seen once how the pros deal with keyboard and mouse. She does the exact same way as them.
She will win with her team.
Except if something unfortunate would happen.
They always do.
There’s a lot of question but only time can answer it really.
I sigh, feeling defeated. But it’s still a progress right? Knowing the girls life outside the school is what my objective is anyway. Now we’ve reached a quota for Carrie and Mei (or else I’d be pushing my luck). Which girl should I look for now?
A certain silver hair girl comes in my mind.
I can go find Claire but goddam I must love to torture my legs if that’s the case. I don’t even know where she is now–or any hint. For all I know she might be shooting someone on the head now.
I stretches my legs. Man, why is the former user didn’t get a car? This is so unconventional.
I walk, maybe hoping to find Claire. Maybe hope I can cut my legs and float in the air. Maybe hope this world just ends.
Maybe hoping. For someone. To come save me. Out.
In the end I just find myself on a seat of some random cafe. I shrug, not even knowing how I gotten into this place. I don’t even like it. There’s a lot of people around, smiling, chatting, joking, living, when in truth we’re all just a sad and dying being. ‘Them’, I am not dying any time soon. I’m immortal.
Please kill me.
I look at my own reflection on the steaming coffee on the table. I’m perfect.
Out of the blue, a woman in white dress opens the door with a chime. She looks around as I take the opportunity to watch her thick cleavage. Oh, it’s becoming larger. Woah, it’s filling up my vision now.
“Excuse me,” A gentle voice of a woman. My dick twitches in shock.
Ah shit, I don’t even realize she’s standing in front of my table now. I feel ashamed and great to just glare at her cleavage like that.
“But is this seat taken?” Her green eyes look at me, waiting for my answer.
I reply, “No.”
“This seat is not taken.” She says in monotonously.
To normal people they’d be weirded out by now. But my whole life is fucked up so I don’t really give it a reaction. I just feel offended. When you feel offended you must tell or else it’d grow to hatred which is not good for anyone. Hatred kills everyone.
“I’m offended.” I say. The woman raises her thing eyebrow.I continue, “What do you mean this seat is not taken like that. I know I said no but I can have a woman to sit on the seat if I really try to.”
I’m playing hard to catch. Woman loves that shit.
The woman smiles, “No you wouldn’t.”
“Hm?”
“You don’t have enough time,” The woman continues. Her voice is turning to something familiar. “Not enough time to get distracted. The girls are dying.”
Her eyes rolls, hiding her whole green eyes. And now there’s nothing but white in her eyes.
Aw man, just when I thought I could get laid with a normal hot woman, it turns out to be Life and Death. Life and Death, they are two people but one being. It’s like the holy trinity shit but worse. Because it’s actually real. I wonder which one of her is standing in front of me now.
The woman replies my thought, “I thought you can already tell. I’m Life.” She takes the seat.
I shake my head, “I don’t think I ever will. You guys are confusing.”
“You’re a downer.”
“Despite that you call me perfect.”
“We’re all do.” She says. And then looks up at the ceiling. “Down here and up there.”
I follow her. The ceiling is doing fine. There’s nothing special about it. Just thinking if it falls would it kill me and everyone else in this room instantly? “Are you looking up a god despite being one of them?”
Life laughs, “Oh no. We’re not god. There is no god but time. And I’m looking not for something greater than we are. We’re the same. But they’re just more… real.”
The woman whisper sadly, “I,” and whisper in anger, “want,” and whisper in joy, “to be like them.”
“…” I don’t to partake with her reminiscence so I just take a sip on my coffee and watch her.
Life looks at me and grins, “Anyway, that’s what I come here to say.”
“That… the girls are dying and there’s another life at the other side of the ceiling?”
“At the other side of this world.” She nods. “Worlds.”
I shrug, “Well okay. Since when anything is not a surprise. Everything else is already dead anyway.”
We’re good as dead anyway.
Life hmmed, “That’s true. For this world at least.”
“I don’t care about other world.”
“You should. We don’t belong here.” She glances at a happy couple on the table, “They are.”
‘Sure.”
Life stands up, “Then I’m going.”
And out of the blue again, a man enters the cafe loudly. He shouts, “Maria!”
And Life responds, “Nis?” But her whole self is not the Life but the woman I’ve met few minutes ago.
Nis looks at me weirdly. Ah, I get it. We’re in a bad position and you came at the worst timing. It’s as if he just finds his wife cheating with me.
This could turn out to be a nuisance.. I don’t like it.
