Negative -Girls: To Live And Die - Chapter 69
When I was still in the reconcile room, I could say I spent seventy-percent of trying to give the girls lessons, fifty more percent being horny, and the other watching the door. I was expecting a certain red-haired petite girl to open them.
But Carrie didn’t. She also not picking up her phone. I tried it a few seconds ago and now I think she will never answer my call. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t like me. Or maybe she died. Who knows, both are possible.
Oh, this doesn’t seem like me, talking in the past tense. I’m not living in the past, yet. Who knows if somehow the gods want me to live like that. But now I’m in the present (or so I think.) Okay let’s start it over again. I am standing outside of the reconcile room and together with my two favourite teenage girls in the hallway.
Sohee has been talking about her duty for this week to me but I just nod my head without even hearing. Sounds cruel to do this to someone who is always trying to help you but it can’t be help if they are just boring. The only thing that’s not boring in Sohee is her pretty face. And breast. They were perky last time I touched them.
And they are fun to look at. She doesn’t even get mad, rather, I think she’s happy I’m looking at her.
But oh boy.
Stuff like ‘my debate today,’ ‘what problems the school is having,’ or ‘Will Sunbae accept me as a wife,’ are boring matters. She has a lot of these in her.
“Don’t you think so, Sunbae?” She asks.
I give her the last nod. Sohee returns my courtesy, still oblivious to the fact that my ears had been shut down the moment she started talking boring.
And then she turns to Mei. The second teenage girl I’m with now. Despite my fact about Sohee then, I think Mei was happy to listen to all that Sohee said.
No, I don’t think it’s about what Sohee says.
I’m kind of in the same boat as Mei too. We think Sohee’s voice is just awesome. Her gentle tone and careful choice of words. If I am Mei, I also would just as happily stand at the corner of the conversation and just listen.
But then the shift of the wind catches us.
Sohee bits her lip and bows down at Mei.
Mei’s eyes widen and her hands immediately try to hold Shizuka back up.
“I’m sorry, Mei. I’m really really sorry,” Sohee starts.
Mei eyes dart around hoping for something to answer what’s going on. She somehow gets it and lowers herself with Sohee. “So–Sohee, I–It’s okay.”
Sohee shakes her head, “No, it’s not okay.”
“Sohee…”
And now everyone is sad. Except me.
“I think I’m being a bad person and that as your friend I don’t care about you. When I think over my decision again and the fact that someone is trying to harm you out there… I–I should–should put you on the first priority. But instead…” Sohee’s voice and arms are trembling. “But instead I chose not to.
“I’m really, really sorry Mei.”
Mei looks around for help but none came. She just looks at Sohee’s pink head with tears in her eyes. “So–Sohee.”
And then her emerald eyes accidentally meet me.
And that’s my queue to step in.
I hold Sohee’s shoulder and bring her up, twirl her around and stare deep in her pink glassy eyes.
“Sunbae?”
“Look, Sohee.” I start, “You don’t have to feel bad for yourself. Now think it back again rationally. Will it be better if you walk Mei back home?”
Mei twitches. I think she doesn’t like what I said.
But I still continue. “Mei is in great danger. And she needs a person who can protect her, not a friend.” I turn to Mei, “I’m sorry, Mei but this is the only way we could do this. The police is the best option but you don’t prefer them. I know you prefer Sohee walking you back home over me but that’d just put you two in danger. And I don’t want that.”
Mei claps her hands together as if she has an idea but quickly turns away her red face and mumbles, “But three could just walk together.”
I sigh, “It can’t be that way, Mei. I’m only one person.”
The emerald eyes try to fix her stare at me. And she did… her pupils still trembling though.
I continue, “I can protect you, Mei.”
And that I’m not sure of myself whether it’s a lie or I really meant it.
