Nethersky - Chapter 12
Of all the wondrous objects Yuning had seen during his walk through the bustling city streets of Guangzhou, none of them could compare to the unbelievable sight of the Xngyn tz (Lucky Bunny) net cafe.
Yuning always knew that Guangzhou was known for its avant-garde style architecture, but the building in front of him was on a whole other level.
‘I guess this is how they attract the interest of customers,’ Yuning thought as he stared up at the glittering pink three-story building.
The more Yuning peered at it, the more it resembled a giant Pez dispenser. Especially since the building had a colossal bunny’s head perched on top of it that let out holographic advertisements inside speech bubbles when it opened its mouth.
The building’s design might have been silly looking, but from a business standpoint, it would attract people to come and take a look inside. Who wouldn’t be curious about a shop that looked like this?
Yuning was one of those curious people. Even though he had the previous owner’s memories and already knew how the interior looked, he still had doubts.
‘No way would someone decorate a place like that.’ Yuning thought in amusement while shaking his head to clear the strange image from his mind.
Pulling open the pink metal doors, Yuning walked inside of the net cafe, only to stop and gape at his surroundings. Because this was when he realized that someone would decorate the interior of their building pink with cartoonish bunnies everywhere.
It was exactly like the memory he had of this place, down to the bunny dressed employees. Trying to stifle a laugh, Yuning could only wonder about the bunny obsession the owner had.
Ignoring the strange decor, Yuning continued to enter the building and into the crowded lobby. Relying upon his other set of memories, Yuning made his way through the packed room and over to the self-service kiosks lined up against the wall to buy an access card.
An access card is necessary to have if he wanted to leave the reception hall and gain entry to the main store area.
After finding a bunny-shaped kiosk that wasn’t being used, Yuning relied on his memories once again to figure out how to operate it.
Once he understood how to use it, he proceeded to buy a basic card for $10. This would give him access to the cafe and computers that were on the first floor for 3 hours.
As Yuning took the card that popped out from the machine, he couldn’t help but wonder what was on the second and third floor of the net cafe.
However, he only caught glimpses of the name RisqueMouse and a blurry image of a headset when he searched his memory for any information.
‘It’s probably some sort of advanced gaming system,’ Yuning thought as he showed his card to a bunny dressed employee standing guard at the entrance to floor 1.

As soon as the door was opened, Yuning was hit with the delicious smell of coffee and baked pastries. Pastries were his weakness, and it took everything in him to walk through the cafe without buying something.
From what memories showed him as he walked past the tables, the food served in this cafe was famous for its deliciousness. So even without computers, this store could be very profitable.
Yuning really wanted to try it, but he came here for work and not to eat, so that is what he is going to do.
~~
It took him 15 minutes of walking through the large cafe before finally reaching the alcove where the regular computers were. And as soon as he entered, he was greeted by an employee.
“Hello there! Welcome to Lucky Bunny! May I please see your access card?” asked a plucky young girl wearing bunny ears.
Handing over the card to the girl, Yuning watched as she scanned it through a bunny-shaped machine in her hand.
“Okay, you’re all set!” The girl said, returning the card to him. “Let me take you to your computer.”
Giving the perky girl a slight smile and a thumbs-up, Yuning followed as she walked through the densely packed aisles for 10 minutes before finally arriving at an empty computer.
“Here we are computer XY-150. You will be able to use it for three hours, and if you need any assistance, just press the yellow button on the side of the computer. Have a good day!” the girl announced in one breath before turning to leave.
After the weirdly dressed girl bounced away, Yuning sat down at the computer and inserted the access card into a small device next to the monitor to activate it.
Seconds later, the computer turned on and opened to the Bubble search engine. Yuning also noticed that on the bottom left corner of the screen was a small timer counting down.
Knowing that he had no time to waste, Yuning thought back to the things he needed to do, and the first thing to come to mind was to check his account. So that’s what he did.
It felt like second nature to him as he put in the web address for SnowyPig bank and typed in the previous owner’s username and password to enter the account. He didn’t even have to think about it. It was pure reflex.
Deciding not to dwell on the fact that he subconsciously filled out someone else’s information like it was his own. Yuning checked to see how much was in his savings account.
‘$6,000 left, that’s not bad. I can work with that.’ Yuning mused while going over figures in his head. ‘That could last us about 3-4 months if I don’t waste it on unnecessary things.’
Happy that the previous owner left a decent amount of money behind, he closed out of his bank account and pulled up his oncologist website.
Logging into the site, he quickly made an appointment. However, it seemed like most of the days were booked, and the soonest he could see the doctor was two weeks from now.
After making a note of the date and time, he had to go on his phone, Yuning decided it was time to look for information about being a manhua artist.
