Never Judge - Chapter 1110 1110
“This way sir.” Yu Zimo said as he guided Al and Andrew to another building at the back of the main mansion.
It was a detached two story house that could be a luxurious villa all on it’s own.
“This residence has multiple rooms, you can use them as you wish.” Yu Zimo informed Al and Angelo as he gave them a quick tour. “If you need anything, there are servants assigned to this residence, but they stay off site for your privacy.”
Al nodded as he analyzed what Yu Zimo was telling him.
He was glad that Guan Ming had taken into consideration everything that they needed.
The residence was private and he could use it as he saw fit for his investigation.
“How soon can we set a meeting with the first target Ilya Pavlov?” Al walked into the residence with Angelo and Yu Zimo following closely behind.
Despite being in deep discussion with the two other men, he managed to notice that his and Angelo’s bags had already been brought to the residence.
Guan Ming’s staff were tuly efficient.
“Ilya works for a gang that likes to pretend that they don’t operate in the city.” Yi Zimo explained. “We can call him in to meet with a representative from our side at anytime. He wouldn’t dare reject an invitation.”
Al nodded as he absorbed the new piece of information.
“The boss said you will attend as his representative so that you can do the interrogation yourself.” Yu Zimo added when he noticed that Al did not respond to what he had just said.
“As his representative?” Al asked, confused by Guan Ming’s sudden offer of power and position to him.
“He told me that it was something you were more than capable of handling.” Yu Zimo said in a suspicious tone.
Al nodded but didn’t confirm anything.
Instead, he waved for Angelo to layout on the table Ilya Pavlov.
He looked through the information as everyone remained silet, waiting for him to say more.
“In two days,” Al declared. “I want to meet him in two days.”
Al had already calculated that that timeline would give him ample opportunities to learn more about the man.
He was someone that liked to be prepared, and even if he had less resources now, it didn’t mean that he would skimp on his preparation.
“Very well, Mr. Lawrence,” Yu Zimo said, addressing Al by his true name.
Al frowned as he looked at the man.
He was a little bit older and in all honesty Al didn’t think that Yu Zimo was the type to belong to an underground organization.
The man before him looked way too clean.
He seemed more like someone that would be working at an office rather that for some mafia don.
“Yu Zimo, who are you truly?” Al finally asked, breaking the awkward silence.
“Sir?” Yu Zimo asked as he tried his best to feign ignorance.
Al chuckled as he spotted the panic in Yu Zimo’s eyes. He was actually quite impressed with the man because if Al hadn’t been trained for these kinds of interactions he wouldn’t have spotted the change in the man’s demeanor.
“I doubt Uncle Ming would trust just anyone with this task.” Al grinned from ear to ear.
“No, the boss would only give this to his most trusted, yes.” Yu Zimo nodded, trying his best to keep his calm disposition.
“Indeed,” Al said, nodding. “You’re his nephew aren’t you.”
Yu Zimo seemed to be shocked that Al had managed to piece together what information he had laid out before him and figure out the truth.
“H—how did you—”
“It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out,” Angelo said, joining in on the conversation.
“You too?” Yu Zimo asked, shocked that even Angelo had figured out who he actually was to Guan Ming..
“Only family is kept this close.” Al smiled as he offered Yu Zimo a glass of wine. “So how are you related to him?”
Yu Zimo was silent and didn’t say a word.
He seemed to be contemplating if he could trust Al or not.
After a while, he finally gave in and spoke.
“My mother is his half-sister.” He said as he decided that Al and Angelo were trustworthy enough.
“You’re uncle—”
“My mother’s full brother.” Yu Zimo said, frowning at Al. “Just like you, my family dynamics can be pretty complicated. That’s why I’ve taken my father’s family name rather than my mother’s. I’ve also chosen to work with my uncle to protect myself.”
Al couldn’t help but chuckle at how intertwined their lives were.
Yu Zimo’s uncle had once attacked his family and now Yu Zimo was helping him.
“What else do you do for Guan Ming?” Al questioned the man. “I doubt that this is your first task. Uncle Ming isn’t quick to trust, but he wouldn’t hand me over to a complete newbie.”
Yu Zimo chuckled and shook his head.
He was still amazed at how quickly Al infered things about him and how accurate the other man could be.
“No, I was pulled from my ordinary tasks.” Yu Zimo admitted.
“Are you his right hand man?” Angelo prodded.
Yu Zimo smiled and shook his head.
“I’m not capable enough, but maybe someday I’ll be his or my cousin’s right hand man.” Yu Zimo admitted. “For now, I just do veri specific jobs and handle the most troublesome factions of my uncle’s organization.”
Al nodded.
Yu Zimo might not currently be the right hand man to Guan Ming, but he was definitly being groomed for the role.
The similarity in leadership style between Guan Ming and Al’s own father, Raymond Lawrence astounded Al.
Yu Zimo was undergoing the exact same training that Tristan was.
In the recent years Tristan Lim had been exposed to the underworld and decided that it was something he wanted to continue doing.
His father, Raymond Lawerence’s second in command, Ian Lim was more than willing to give his son the reins someday.
“I guess we will be working together much more in the future.” Al said with a grin.
