Nightmare Came to The Place I Escaped - Chapter 104
The mercenaries had given up even halfway listening to their leader, who wasn’t saying a word, let alone a plausible strategy. They looked down at the man who was shooting arrows at them with his body bent.
“…Boss. The noble…”
“Shut up, it’s already too complicated! It doesn’t look like Master Oates, so who the heck is he?”
Silver hair
He couldn’t see his face clearly from such a long distance, but it was clear that the man had silver hair.
There was only one thing that the shining silver hair showed, that they were a member of the Imperial family of the Levskaya Empire.
In addition, only one member of the Imperial family showed that much talent in martial arts.
“Huh, I think it’s His Majesty.”
“What?”
“The man in the carriage we attacked is the Emperor!”
The face of the mercenary who said that turned white.
It was only natural that they would end up being fugitives after they finished this job.
However, if the man standing over there was the Emperor, this raid wouldn’t be successful in the first place.
That meant they were all going to die. It was just a meaningless death for all of them.
The mercenary got up from his seat, he clutched his hand that was trembling with fear, and began to run quickly.
He must’ve thought this was the only way to live.
This plan was a complete failure. No wonder they were told they were being paid a high salary, otherwise no one would’ve accepted this request.
So if they wanted to live, they needed to run away right immediately. That was the only way.
Twang!
“Ugh!”
However an arrow flew toward the fleeing mercenary, who eventually fell.
“Haa!”
The leader raised an eyebrow when he saw a person nearby was hit by the arrow.
“Hey! You didn’t say anything about this! There was no mention of the Emperor riding in that carriage!”
“Tch, I didn’t know that either. How was I supposed to know that the Emperor was going to be riding in there to the capital!”
Diana was angry that she had to endure this unexpected variable.
“This is crazy! Because of you, we’re all about to die!”
“Hey, if you have time to talk nonsense like that, shoot your bow.”
“What?”
“If you want to live, if you don’t want to be killed like a dog, kill the Emperor.”
The leader chuckled at Diana, who looked into his eyes and coldly ordered him to go. The woman seemed insane, judging by her out of focus and flashing eyes.
The leader looked at the darkening sky and sighed softly.
Even at this very moment, his men were falling all around him, unable to offer up any resistance.
At this rate, all the mercenaries who came with him were about to die.
If he shot at the Emperor in this situation, the moment he revealed his position he would be exposed, and would lose his life before the first arrow was shot.
If he were to fulfill that woman’s orders, it was nothing short of suicide.
“What are you doing? What are you doing sitting still!”
“Shut up. It’s already over. Can’t you see?”
“What?”
“There’s only one way we can live, and that’s to run away.”
If he waited a little longer in hiding, when the forest was covered in complete darkness, that was when he was going to run.
“Ha? Run away? You’re going to take the money, and run away without finishing your work?”
Diana raised her voices to the fullest, and battered the large leader.
“What’s the use of all that money when I’m about to die? Well, I can only fulfill the contract if I’m alive.”
“Here’s the thing. If you got the money, you should pay the price!”
The leader covered her mouth with a big hand as Diana screamed. Judging from the Emperor’s archery skills, it would be the end of them the moment their position was discovered.
If the Emperor’s attention was drawn to the loud noise, it would be them that his next arrow was after.
“Hey, shut up before I kill you first. Don’t whine next to me because I have a headache.”
The leader quietly warned, annoyed at Diana’s high-pitched voice. It seemed that what he just said wasn’t a lie as he grabbed the dagger from his belt.
It looked like this wasn’t just a casual threat, but that he would really kill Diana if she uttered any more words.
“Ha!”
Diana let out a small laugh at the murderous intent directed towards her, then bit her lips hard.
At this rate, Rachel and Ian would escape again. In the end, it seemed that she couldn’t take revenge on anyone.
In the end, it was herself who would become the fugitive.
“Not like this.”
Diana gritted her teeth, and spat out a curse.
It was something that couldn’t fail like this.
She had to hurt Ian and Rachel somehow. Diana had to avenge the insults she’d suffered, those who’d made her miserable.
“Hey, when are you going to run away?”
“What?”
“You said you were going to run away. Why are you still sitting down?”
“Ha? Wait a minute.”
The leader laughed at Diana, who’s attitude had changed. However, he simply gave a small laugh, and told her about his plan.
“When it gets a little darker, I’ll run away then. If I move now, I’ll get hit by an arrow.”
At his words, Diana looked up at the sky and turned to the mercenary who was on the ground after being hit by an arrow.
“Ha…”
A deep sigh came out of Diana’s mouth.
That’s right.
She couldn’t die like this.
The mercenaries would die soon, as the poison spread through their bodies.
As long as she ran away from here, there was no way the Oates family would find out she was the ringleader behind the mercenary attack on the carriage.
She had no money left now, and no time to ask for help.
If she survived first, she could wait for another chance.
Diana wrapped her hand around the medicine bottle that she put in her pocket to drink after the task was completed.

“Ha…”
Rachel, who was wandering around Ian’s office anxiously, let out a deep sigh.
Roosevelt Dante brought Rachel to the office, he said he was tired, then quickly disappeared. The action was so swift that there was no time to catch him.
Rachel was worried about Ian and Mike, but she quietly stayed in the office because she remembered Ian’s request not to be caught by others.
Some time passed.
Knock Knock
Rachel’s head turned hurriedly at the knock on the office door.
“Your Majesty, it’s Harmond.”
Knock Knock
As Ian said, Harmond arrived at the office when the time came.
“It’s time to report on state affairs.”
Rachel hurriedly opened the door of the office for his long-awaited visit.
Ian told her to stay out of sight, so she thought this would be better than answering.
“Your Highness?”
Harmond entered the office carefully, wondering at the sudden opening of the office door. Ian had never opened the door when he visited.
Harmond looked around the room as carefully as he could, and quietly poked his head behind the door of the empty room.
“AHH!”
“Quiet.”
Harmond, who found Rachel behind the door, frowned in surprise and raised his voice.
However, when Rachel warned him in a small voice, he hurriedly lifted his hand to cover his mouth.
Tak
Rachel, who thus silenced Harmond, hurriedly closed the door of the office and continued.
“You must’ve been surprised, but we don’t have time.”
“Lady Oates, how can you be here…”
Harmond hurriedly looked around the office, where he’d met Rachel in an unexpected place.
No, where had His Majesty gone, and why was the lady here alone?
His Majesty knew that Lady Oates would arrive in the capital by tomorrow.
“Where’s Your Majesty? I received a report that you’ll arrive sometime tomorrow, but how is the lady here now…”
“…The Prophet brought me here.”
Rachel wondered for a moment whether Harmond would believe her, but decided to tell the truth and ask for help.
The reason Ian told her to ask Harmond for what she needed was probably because Ian trusted him. Rachel didn’t know much about Harmond, but he seemed to be the only one she could ask for help right now.
For a moment, silence reigned in the office.
“The Prophet?”
“Yes.”
“The Prophet with dark hair and red eyes?”
However, Harmond laid out the appearance of the Prophet as if he had met him.
“Yes, he must have seen the future.”
“When it comes to the future…”
“He saw a future where Diana Avery attacked the Oates carriage. His Majesty is there in my place.”
Harmond hesitated for a moment, as if confused by Rachel’s words.
“But I don’t think he prepared anything because he was in a hurry. So, Sir Harmond, you need to send the Imperial knights.”
“Then where is His Majesty now…”
“He’s riding in the carriage instead of me, but I don’t know how far he’s traveled. Sir Harmond, we’re running out of time, so please hurry.”
Mike, Ian, and a few of the family knights were all with the Oates’ carriage now.
She didn’t know how many mercenaries there were, or where they might be attacked. Obviously, it was a very unfavorable situation for Ian’s party.
Rachel’s heart was beating so fast that she felt dizzy.
“Come on, Harmond!”
“But My Lady, the only person who can move the Imperial Knights is His Majesty.”
The confused Harmond let out a small sigh.
“But that’s not completely the case, I could ask the captain of His Majesty’s escort. However, I can’t explain this situation to them right now…”
“Sir Harmond.”
“I have no choice but to impersonate His Majesty, and issue an order…”
Harmond frowned as if pondering for a moment and blinked.
“I’ll take responsibility. If something goes wrong or His Majesty reprimands you for this, I will take responsibility.”
Rachel glanced at her watch and urged him to speak.
“I’ll take responsibility for this, so please help me.”
As if they didn’t have time to worry about this.
Ian was known for his excellent swordsmanship, so she thought he would come back safely.
However, there was a ‘just in case’ thing. It would be more advantageous for him if the Imperial knights arrived.
“Harmond, please.”
“Ha, no.”
“…What?”
“If things go wrong, I will take responsibility.”
Harmond nodded as if he had made up his mind when Rachel eagerly grabbed his hand.
Harmond’s eyes, which had been shaking slightly until now, changed to be more calm. Soon, the confusion in his eyes disappeared and a sense of responsibility took over.
