No Game No Life - Volume 9 Chapter 2.4
“Hmm… unreasonable premises and developments you say?… What do you mean specifically, my
beloved Spieler?” Einzig replied, tilting his head in wonder.
“Is it a lack of coherence? A lack of meaning? Or perhaps a lack of justification for their actions…?”
── I
t’s everything
. Is what Sora wanted to say, but he kept quiet.
Einzig anticipated that everything. In other words, his reply would contain an answer to everything. Thus,
full of confidence, strength, and ferocity, Einzig told them his answer──!!
“L
ove has no coherence!
Asking the heart to be logical is a fallacy! There is no meaning behind two
people attracted to each other coming together! J
ustification is nothing more than an addendum ──
That’s right! It’s just as it was drawn in those pieces of art!!”
── But why?
“Aah, a civilization that can define love so clearly and concisely! Drawing this so naturally is the height
of academic achievement!”
── Exactly how many pages does it take to get to the erotic developments?──
Einzig’s words were revering authors engaging in those timed battles. And the fact that Sora was almost
convinced by him for a second, put Sora at his wits’ end. But then, several voices called out to him. They
were the words of everyone who had been staring at the pictures:
“Hmm… I see you in a different light now Sora-dono. The wolf tribe should indeed have big breasts. You
have good taste.”
Ino said, staring at one of the animal eared girls so hard he almost drilled a hole in the picture.
“… What are they even doing in that picture? ── No. Well it doesn’t really matter now does it?”
Miko said, feigning calmness with a red face. Was that something too extreme for someone with zero
experience in love?
“Master, Master!? Please grant me this knowledge too!!”
Jibril said, drooling excitedly. She wanted to recover the data if possible, and,
“Or if that’s not possible then let’s put it into practise, please, please──!!”
If not, then she wanted to experience it herself, so she begged for a teacher.
“… Shiro. Your big brother wants to crawl into a hole and die but… would you get buried together with
me?”
“… Mhm. Okay…”
── In the end, it was nothing more than shame play.
Sora cried on the tatami floor, as he hardened his resolve to be buried in the earth together with his little
sister.However──
“However, no matter how great our information, this unit still doesn’t understand love enough to be
loved.”
“… Before love, how about you try to understand consideration or delicacy…?”
Even though he talked about love, it seemed that Einzig didn’t notice the wound in Sora’s heart. The
machine man nodded deeply and:
“Understood. I shall understand those too and return as soon as I can, my beloved Spieler! Please look
forward to it!” Einzig said his piece with a reliable and refreshing smile.
“I won’t look forward to anything, all right!? And I keep telling you to not come back!!” Sora just
screamed in response when suddenly ── he was interrupted. The relentless pervert (Einzig) and the
obscene things around him had disappeared.
“……………………. sigh…”
Thus he sighed, and at the same time, peace finally returned to Miyashiro.
“Well then, when are y
ou
going to go back?” Jibril muttered. Everyone followed her gaze to an empty
spot, from where a single voice answered:
“… Answer: If Master tells me to go back, then immediately.”
Both Sora and Shiro ── No. There probably weren’t even any traces of spirits.
“Emiline!? Eh, you were here!?”
“Affirmation: All this time.”
When Sora called out to her, the Ex-Machina girl showed herself, lifted the hem of her skirt, and bowed.
It seems that she had been using some sort of stealth even the Warbeasts couldn’t see through very
carefreely.
“… Why? Are you not going to go back together with the other Ex-Machina?”
“Boast: Master ordered us to ‘please disappear from his sight
’. So following that order, I became
invisible.”
… That was just like one of Sora’s sophisms.
Everyone turned towards him with half-lidded eyes, but Sora was worried about something else, a certain
sense of wrongness.
── Einzig was… a perverted piece of junk. Let’s leave it at that.
However, why was only Emiline not doing the same as the other Ex-Machinas?
Was it because she was a ‘Befehl’ (Commander) like Einzig? ── N
o, wait. In the first place, Emiline
hasn’t even tried to seduce me like the others. Sora suddenly noticed.“Annex: Master is this unit’s master. This unit’s default position is beside her master. However, at night it
fluctuates between above and below.” The real robo maid was saying that she was, first and foremost a
maid, right?
“Question: For the time being, how are we going to sleep together tonight? Is this unit above or below? I
wish to make preparations.”
── But even considering that, her attempts at seducing him into making babies were just like threats, and
had devolved into things like this.
Emiline’s question was phrased as if sleeping together was already a settled matter, and in response:
“… I’ll correct myself. I’m sorry, but for the time being, please go back ── Ah, also, before you go back,
may I have a moment?”
“Consent: Both above and below are alright.”
“Neither is alright! What did you think we were going to do?… I simply want to ask you a question…!”
Sora said in a tired voice, and thought.
He couldn’t guess the real motive behind the Ex-Machina’s behaviour at all. Even if they had some sort of
hidden objective, right now, he had no means to determine what it was. That’s why he had stopped
himself from making this retort for a very very long time:
“… Why are you guys dressed in maid clothes.” Sora said that single phrase as if it was being squeezed
out of his mouth. However──
“Self-explanatory: When talking about robots, they should be maid robots.”
“What I’m asking is where did you learn that simple idea?!!”
── The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.
Emiline had answered something similar to that, so Sora couldn’t take it and groaned.
Was that information they learned from Sora’s hentai manga?… No, it wasn’t. All the Ex-Machina had
been wearing maid clothes ever since they first came to visit.
… There may or may not have been a butler too, however Sora had obliterated him from his memory.
“Answer: After the Great War, we Ex-Machina put a lot of thought into it. The meaning of our existence.”
Emiline spoke, bit by bit. Dispassionately. But also fluently.
“Continuation: That meaning is a wish. The one who gave us Ex-Machina our ‘hearts’, the Prayer──”
She talked as if she was just reproducing audio data ── robotically and without hesitation.
“Recollection: Wished for the realization of the Spieler’s ── or in other words, her beloved’s, wish.”
However, when she said that, Emiline’s eyes were dazzling. Her face was like a doll’s. Her eyes, her lips
were somehow artificial ── however.
“Aspiration: That answer was very compelling. Every unit agreed with that answer.”They contained something that a simple machine, a simple doll would never have.
“Conclusion: We shall devote our all to Master, serve you, and become your strength. That is this unit’s
── the Ex-Machina’s ── wish, the meaning of our existence.”
Emiline finished, with a voice clearly containing an emotion ── hope.
And thus, it became quiet…
Silence had fallen on Miyashiro’s residential tower. Sora awkwardly opened his mouth:
“Ah… to think that a carefree retort would lead to such a serious topic, but you see…”
He was wondering if it was really a good idea to destroy that atmosphere. However, Sora was almost
certain that a certain doubt that he couldn’t get rid of was valid, so he gathered his courage, and retorted:
“… You don’t really need to be maids in order to do that, right?”
Even taking into account what Emiline said, there wasn’t really any reason as to why they needed to be
maids. There were other ways to fulfill that wish. In fact, the maid clothes are completely unrelated.
“Affirmation: There are eight possible roles corresponding to that conclusion. We decided on maids
for──”
And so, Sora’s doubt was affirmed by a nodding Emiline. As expected, it was just as Sora thought. And it
was also a not very maid-like reason:
“Disclosure: No particular reason.”
── They had no particular reason.
In short, she had just confirmed that they were only ‘pseudo-maids’. Only Sora could accept it, while the
others became completely exhausted.
“… Ehh, a lowly, inexperienced piece of junk who’s just playing a new character wants to become
Master’s servant?”
The one who didn’t like that answer the most was a certain person ── correction. A certain angel.
Weapon? Flügel? Anyways. Sora couldn’t decide on how to refer to her29, but in any case──
“What’s more she’s merely one of the supporting actors who are getting sold by the dozen, and yet, she’s
disregarding me… It looks like we have a serious problem here.” Jibril said, increasing the revolutions of
her halo as she approached Emiline.
“You are just p
laying a character
. In that case, how about I personally fix your character ── radically fix
it I mean ♥”
29 This was about counters in the original. Counters are used to count things in japanese and are different depending
on the type of thing. First, Sora used a counter for people 名, then one for humanoid forms 体, then one for small
things 個, and finally one for machines 台, before saying that he couldn’t remember the appropriate one for
weapons.
With that, she turned a large amount of spirits in the atmosphere into a stream that flowed into the
growing light in her wings.
She wanted to physically change her character── or rather, she wanted to destroy her character using a
blade of light.
“… H-hey, Jibril…!”
It was a storm of spirits so strong that even Sora and Shiro, who couldn’t perceive spirits, felt it.
However, she couldn’t activate that power. The Ten Pledges existed. She couldn’t inflict any damage.
But even so, both Miko and Ino couldn’t stop their hair from standing on end at her unreasonable
destructive power.
“Objection: This unit became Master’s servant just a little while ago. Indeed.” Emiline faced off against
Jibril with her trademark cool face.
Her expressionless face, was faintly, but clearly, sneering at Jibril──
“Report: This unit already offered her everything to Master 6000 years ago. The inexperienced one is you.
Impudent. Idiot. Hindrance. However, since you are Master’s possession, he would scold me if I
carelessly broke you.”
Provoking
her.
“All riiiiiiiiiiiiight I get it! This was all my fault for keeping you here!! We’re done here, okay bye!?”
Sora screamed, panicking. However, he was clearly being drowned out by rumbling sound that
accompanied their hostility.
“It would seem that you have a very big mouth huh♥ How about I make it a little bit bigger by punching a
hole through you♪”
“Wry smile: It is possible to exterminate the Irregular with this unit’s current armaments. Easily. Let me
prove it, Master.”
“Listen! Please listen to me okay!? I was in the wrong here, so for the time being, please go back! I’m
begging you!!”
“… Jibril, s-s-sit…”
First, with Sora and Shiro’s order
, Jibril fell into a seiza. Then with Sora’s request
Emiline started to
prepare for teleportation.
“… piece of junk doll.”
“Reply: Chicken. Lesen ── Apocryphal teleportation: Shurapokriphen.”
Glaring at each other, they each had their last words, and with that, Emiline disappeared.
■■■
And thus, this time peace really returned to Miyashiro’s residential tower.“… You… just what did you bring into my house…?” Miko protested with a groan. She understood the
general situation and the current state of affairs.
“It wasn’t my fau── No, it was
my fault… sorry to have bothered you. We’ll leave soon.”
“… Forgive us, okay? … Miko-san…”
Sora tried to argue for a moment, but then he shook his head and honestly apologized together with Shiro.
The ones who came to Miyashiro were Sora and the others. For Miko, it was almost as if they had brought
a storm with them.
They had come to Miyashiro to escape from the Ex-Machina in the first place. However, the Ex-Machina
had already found their hiding place, they’d surely come again… Therefore, they couldn’t stay here for
long. They had no choice but to ask Jibril to teleport them to a place where they wouldn’t be found out
again but──
“… Hatsuse Ino. They came here to rely on you… Help them.”
“As you command Miko-sama… However, I believe we don’t have any obligation to help them out,
right?”
──It was just as Ino said. Miko had absolutely no obligation to help Sora.
When they saved Miko’s friend, Holou, it was nothing more than Miko and Sora using each other. He is a
gamer, and what’s more, a designated representative. His trust
will never mean getting along with each
other ── However,
“We have no obligation. However, I don’t want to make an enemy out of that monster
.”
That’s right── It had been an order calculated with cold self-interest. With that, Ino turned towards Sora
and sat in seiza30.
“… Hmm. So in short, they mistook Sora-dono for their beloved. I can sympathize with that.”
“… Y-yes… It’s very surprising, but I’m glad you understand…”
Ino had spoken with a sorrowful expression, so Sora felt a small bud of friendship sprout…
“Indeed… I cannot help but feel sincere sympathy towards the Ex-Machina… What kind of sin do you
have to commit to experience such misfortune?! They fell in love with this shitty monkey of all
things!!…”
And when Ino shook his fist and continued, Sora cursed his own delusion.
── Damned geezer.
Swallowing the insults he had on the tip of his tongue, Sora spat out a question:
“Tell me frankly… How do I delicately make them realize that this is a misunderstanding?”
── Actually, it was no laughing matter.
30 A very particular way of sittingWe’d be troubled if the Ex-Machina went extinct. They are our allies, so they probably won’t go extinct
for now. However, that was only because of a misunderstanding.
If Sora handled it poorly, they could become enemies and at worst ── he’d lose the omnipotent special
effects machines.
“… Someone as indecent as you must have been stalked tens, no thousands of times because of a
misunderstanding right?” Sora said.
He wished Ino had been stabbed just like that for for every single misunderstanding. However, since the
Ten Pledges existed, the geezer was ──very regretfully── still alive.
In any case, if it’s Hatsuse Ino, he might
have some way to deal with stalkers──
That’s right, Sora didn’t have many expectations. He was just grasping at straws.
“… Sora-dono, seriously, what happened? This isn’t like you at all.” But Ino said that, sharply narrowing
his eyes.
“To think that I was forced to come here because someone who can’t understand s
omething so simple
.
How humiliating.”
“……………………. What. Did you say………?”
── Something so simple.
Ino’s eyes were somewhat tinged with disappointment when he said that. However, even seeing that, Sora
was still bewildered. So Ino sighed, and told him the simple solution to his problem ── that is:
“Don’t be so fucking scared of your first time, you shitty monkey. You just need to hurry up and do what
needs to be done.”
── A misunderstanding you say? That doesn’t really matter
.
Ino had bared his fangs and while he was at it he also bared his true nature. The greatest advocate for
thinking with your lower half in history laughed, and──
“Jibril, we’re going back. This time, be sure to make it so Emiline and the others won’t be able to
follow──”
Sora had been wrong to have any expectations, even for a moment. He and the others stood up, and
prepared to go back.
“… Sora-dono, could it be that you really haven’t noticed?”
However, they were stopped by Ino’s voice. He sounded truly puzzled and surprised from the bottom of
his heart.
“The Ex-Machina have a ‘Hardware lock’ that doesn’t let them reproduce with anyone but a specific
person, right?”
“That’s right! Therefore, even if I make babies with them it wouldn’t solve any──”“In that case, you should just do what they want and sleep with them. I
f it is really a misunderstanding,
then they won’t be able to reproduce.”
……
…………
……………………?
“……. Eh? Ah awah…?”
Sora pondered about Ino’s statement for one full minute, and then answered with a silly voice.
What would happen if he made babies with them? They have the wrong person. He’d get rejected by the
lock. Okay. It was a misunderstanding. The end.
… No no no… wait wait wait. Calm down Sora, you 18-year-old virgin!!
It’s weird, too weird. Whatever the circumstances might have been, how could I have overlooked
something like that──!?
── Something’s wrong.
Sora was confused. However, Ino continued as if he was questioning him:
“What’s more, the ones who misunderstood were those girls themselves. Plus, they confused you with
someone from 6000 years ago.”
“… Y-yes… you’re right…”
“Sora-dono, you are just fulfilling their demands. No one has a right to judge you for it you know?”
With that, Ino’s argument became even stronger.
“If you prove that they have the wrong person, then they’d have to accept that their beloved is dead. Then,
their only choice would be to play a game where they Pledged to release the lock and lose. After all,
they’d just go extinct if they stayed like this.”
… eh … huh? Why was I refusing them again…?
Sora was getting shot down by a rain of perfect arguments. However:
“………….. Nii,” his younger sister whispered. Her eyes were so cold they had a negative Kelvin
temperature, so Sora panicked, recovered his sanity, and screamed:
“Wait! That’s right! Doing 18+ stuff in front of Shiro is ────”
“Sora-dono… Please calm down and think about it. First of all, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
you to have intercourse you know?”
“── you just went and said that it’d be a once in a lifetime chance, you bastard,” Sora couldn’t deny it,
but he still grumbled. Ino kept questioning him:“Yes, and there’s also Sora-dono’s circumstances. Would it be okay for you to let the Ex-Machina go
extinct?”
“It would… not. But if I get separated from Shiro──”
“Sora-dono can just ask Jibril-dono to block light and sound, then there’d be no problem, right?”
That’s right, Ino kept easily solving problems one after another ── and that’s precisely why.
“Isn’t that better than the guilty conscience you’d get for letting a whole race go extinct?”
As if it was inversely proportional to the number of problems, Sora’s sense of wrongness became worse
and worse.
── Wrong. Something’s wrong.
Ino’s assertion was absolutely correct. It was an exceedingly simple and clear argument.
Such a simple argument ── and he had simply overlooked it… but was that really the case?
The Ex-Machina’s conduct. The way they set Sora up. The way they seduced him. Many things felt
wrong. For example:
“And one last thing. If their demand was just to ‘Choose one of us, and make babies with them’, that
would also allow you to do things like what they had been proposing just now
. I cannot understand why
you’re refusing.”
Half ignoring Ino’s words, Sora arranged his thoughts and put them in order.
Sora kept trying to identify the cause of his sense of wrongness ── until finally, in the end…
He made a very deep dogeza31, and reached a decisive conclusion──
“How about you have intercourse with all of them, and choose one to have babies with afterwards?”
“I have to save the robo girls!? I’ll go back home immediately, please forgive
me, master!!”
── That he had simply overlooked it──!!
Why did he overlook it? Because it’s human to overlook things!!
“Sorry for bothering you Miko-san! Jibril, we’re going back to Elkia, time doesn’t wait!!”
“… To think that you were truly just a bother. How refreshing…”
“Understood. The preparations for long distance teleportation will take a bit of time.”
As he bathed in Miko’s cold eyes and Jibril’s light, Sora said:
31 A very deep b
ow“Okaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Good grief, you guys are reaaaaaally lacking enthusiasm you know!? I mean,
there’s no other way!! Don’t you want to save the world (beautiful girls) at least a little? It’s our
destiny!!” Sora lamented. The levels of coolness he reached there were so high his head froze over.
Seriously, there is no limit to my own foolishness… why didn’t I think about it using common sense?!
Twelve begging beautiful girls fell in love with you, and changed their appearance to fit your tastes!? And
yet you reject the advances of these mecha maid girls, these custom-made maids? Who do you think you
are!? You are nothing more than an 18-year-old virgin, Sora! Have you no shame!?
“… Nii but they… have the wrong person… you’d be… deceiving them…”
While Sora was harshly chastising himself, Shiro pouted at him in a bad mood. Normally, Sora would
stop right there, but today ──
“That may be so… However, if there’s someone that can be saved by that, your brother will deceive,
trick, and lie as much as he needs to…” Sora answered, with merciful eyes that carried the weight of the
original sin.
“Even if I am to be blamed and hated as a result!! Even if I have to resign myself to take all that hatred”
It was as if he was preaching philanthropy, the love of all living things. However, his eyes were stained
with pure self-interest. He excitedly said:
“Now let’s go say goodbye to Sora, the 18-year-old virgin, and say hello to Sora, the 18-year-old
non-virgin!!”
Sora’s scream was as if he was about to face destiny itself, when suddenly:
“… Hm? Ah… Sora-dono. Isn’t that just a little bit wrong…?” Ino said, thinking.
“Yes, what is it master!? Is it new guidance for your foolish disciple!? Bring it!!
” Sora answered
excitedly.
“Well… the other party is just a machine you know? Plus, they referenced and recreated Sora-dono’s
hentai manga…”
“Yes, but so what?! What’s wrong with that!?”
It felt like Jibril’s preparations for teleportation were taking much longer than usual. In the meantime Ino
sighed, and as if he was proposing a hypothesis to a very difficult problem, he said:
“That would be… just ‘A dutch wife’. It’d be like doing it by yourself, right…?”
…………
“Sora-dono losing his virginity
you say? … Hah. There’s no way.”
…………
And then… suddenly.
Sora finally felt like he had all the missing pieces, and everything finally clicked:“Aaah… I see… so it was like that…” Sora said quietly, with the smile of a monk that had reached
nirvana.
“Jibril… Sorry for wasting your time, but can you change the destination?”
“── Eh? Ah, yes. Then… where shall we go?”
Many things felt wrong, but now, he could finally see why they felt wrong. The Ex-Machina’s conduct,
their words, but most of all, the thing that felt the wrongest too──
“Anywhere is fine… As long as the Ex-Machina can’t find us, anywhere is fine…”
That is ── just by doing this and that with the Ex-Machina, everything would be solved. Why didn’t he
think of such a simple solution?
── It wasn’t because it didn’t occur to him. It was because he unconsciously noticed.
“… There’s no way something so good could ever happen to me… hahaha… I knew it…”
It looks like Sora will remain an 18-year-old virgin for the time being.
That was what the laws of the world said ── what history was destined to be.
With that, Sora shed some tears, and leaped through space.
■■■
The red moon illuminated Kannagiri Island ── Sora and Shiro were walking around the residential area
on its outskirts.
They were getting close to the house of a certain Warbeast girl they both knew, Hatsuse Izuna──
“… This is relatively close to Miyashiro but… will the Ex-Machina really not find us here?”
Sora thought a certain someone who was floating in the air would for sure teleport them to the other side
of the world.
“Y-yes… it’s just like that saying from Master’s world: ‘It’s hard to see what’s right under your
nose’──”
That’s right, that certain someone was Jibril. She had a self-satisfied smile, but she was also totally
exhausted:
“I used long distance teleportation to teleport this close, and ‘severed’ the spatial fissure after. Even the
Ex-Machina can’t reopen ‘severed space’, and after using that much power, they surely wouldn’t think
we’re less than 300km away.”
── What’s a ‘severed space’? Sora and Shiro had no idea, but:
“… To think that a Flügel like Jibril has to get this tired to lose them… The Ex-Machina are amazing”“Well, although they’ve become pieces of junk over the years, they were the ones who destroyed the god
of war, Artosh; I personally recognize them as worthy ‘enemies’” Jibril said somehow gladly, but Sora
thought:
──I
s that really so?
It is true that they were undoubtedly a transcendental race. That they were ranked tenth was a total fraud.
According to Jibril’s book about them, that was because originally they couldn’t use any magic.
Instead, they designed pseudo spirit circuit connection nerves ── those tail-like cables, to burn spirits like
fuel. Then they used those to power devices (of their own creation) that can p
roduce the same effects as
magic ── it seems like strictly speaking, that is not magic.
However, the fact that they were approaching the 6th rank using that technology was pretty crazy. What’s
more, when the Elementals became part of the Exceed due to the Ten Pledges, they could no longer burn
spirits for fuel. Forget about their devices, the Ex-Machina themselves should have no source of power
anymore and yet ── they kept operating without problem.
── They adapted. When they were suddenly unable to keep burning gasoline, they switched to renewable
energy.
And it was probably done instantly. Give me a break, those cheats are way too outrageous ── however:
Sora had played a game of chess against that transcendental race of cheats ── if they really did defeat
Artosh, then── Sora thought, when suddenly.
“… By the way, was that really all right Master? Uhm, not going back to Elkia I mean.” Jibril’s muttering
caused him to sour his expression and stop walking.
“Ah ── N-no! Of course I didn’t mean to object Master’s decision, but!”
When Jibril saw that, she panicked, descended from the air, folded her wings, and kneeled.
“Granting Master’s chastity to those lowly late comers pretending to be your servants would be too much
of an honor for them! Before that, please use your number one slave’s body to ──”
“… That… wasn’t the point… Jibril… freeze, don’t move…”
Jibril had gone from an apology to stating her own desires and undressing, but Shiro forcefully stopped
her. However, both the frozen Jibril, and the cold Shiro turned towards Sora with the same question in
their gazes.
── Why did you give up on the Ex-Machina’s j
uicy proposal?
Meeting those gazes, Sora ── suddenly made a small smile and,
“Was that really all right you say? Haha… There’s no way that was all right, goddammit!!
” Sora’s
scream echoed through the residential area; it had been so loud the neighborhood would probably
complain, so Shiro immediately covered her ears.“How many times have I been stopped just before the moment of truth!? How far will this world go just
to test meeee!?”
However, the dam holding his resentment had broken, Sora couldn’t it stop anymore. He complained with
tears in his eyes, and thought:
── Ahh I get it, it’s fine already! No sexy developments? Fine, I don’t care if there are none now or in
the future!! I get it, goddammit!! I’m not so uncouth as to play a softcore game wishing for hardcore
content!! But you know what!?
“In that case, don’t bait me like that!! You implemented a hardcore event, both the characters and pictures
are ready to go, and yet it’s impossible to raise a flag ── was it because of bad business practices, or is it
just a damn bug?!”
Debug your stuff properly. That’s what Sora was trying to say, almost crying ── No. The debuggers and
programmers were not at fault here. Sora shook his head and corrected himself:
“I guess that’s right. Because I could do it if I wanted to. If I went back to Elkia right now, there’d be a
harem waiting for me.”
Just
raising a flag was possible; j
ust
having the event was also possible.
“B
ut if I did, it would be checkmate!?
What is this, if not senseless harassment!?”
If that event occurred, the game would become impossible to continue. And of course, replaying it was
also impossible.
Well then, that is indeed a shitty way to make a game, but whose fault is it? The producer’s? Or perhaps
the director’s? The writer’s──!?
Half-convinced that the ‘fourth wall’ really existed, Sora started looking for the war criminal responsible
for this──
“…Nii… calm down…”
“If you did it, it would be checkmate… what do you mean by that, Master?”
But his sister’s chilling command, and Jibril’s bewilderment barely managed to stop him in his tracks.
Sora let out a very big sigh as if he was exhaling his very soul, and sat somewhere on the alley.
“… What do I mean, you say? I mean exactly that…”
What about what Ino said? If the Ex-Machina realized they had the wrong person, they’d release the lock
and reproduce. Why you say? Because if they didn’t, they’d go extinct. It was something very obvious.
── However, it was also very wrong.
“Even if the Ex-Machina realized they had the wrong person, they s
till wouldn’t reproduce
── They’d
rather go extinct, just like that.”Thus, it was impossible to go down the porn route. That’s what was stopping Sora. Shiro looked at him
dubiously and asked:
“… Are you saying that… the Ex-Machina… want to go extinct…?” Shiro asked, as Sora leaned against
the alley’s wall, and fell into his lap with a plop.
“I wonder about that… If they have taken the initiative and really want to go extinct, then they’ve
probably been going extinct on their own accord for a long time already but…”
Sora calmed down. His little sister was in position, so he put a hand on her head, and continued.
“At the very least they seriously think that even if the worst happens and they go extinct it doesn’t
matter.”
Jibril and Shiro’s gazes were asking for proof, however that was very simple:
“If that wasn’t the case, they wouldn’t be able to threaten us with their extinction. It wouldn’t be a real
threat.”
‘If you don’t do this and that I’ll die!!’… If you didn’t plan to die for real, that wasn’t a real threat.
How far had he been able to read a machine’s feelings? Even Sora wasn’t very confident about those
predictions.
However ── when the Ex-Machina challenged Sora to a chess game using their own extinction as a
shield… their eyes were serious
.
That hunch was very close to a certainty; it made Sora accept their game ── and…
── It also gave him a very bad feeling.
“… Hey… The Ex-Machina were the race that triggered the end of the Great War, right?…”
Then, they were the ones who created a world (game) where everything is decided by games right? But
then why would they be willing to allow their race to go extinct…
“Why are they acting as if they were really willing to ruin this game…!?”
He doesn’t know. They confused Sora with someone from 6000 years ago, but he doesn’t know why, or
how, or anything.
“… Did their thought processes really break down? Aren’t they bugged?”
If that was the case, then everything would be a lot easier, but… Then, there’s no way Sora’d be able to
solve anything at all.
“Then, although it may be presumptuous of me… I have two proposals for you, Master.”
“Allll right, let’s hear them! What’s the first one!?”
Sora pointed at Jibril in desperation. She had her hand raised this whole time.“If the problem is that their Race Piece will disappear if they go extinct, then how about we safekeep a
single unit and kill the ──”
“All right, that’s completely out of the question! Denied! Next!! What’s the second one!?”
Seeing her good idea getting shot down so quickly, Jibril got depressed, but still continued:
“This may be unpleasant but… How about leaving the misunderstanding as it is?”
… Hmm. This time it was realistic suggestion, so Sora let her continue:
“Luckily, your duty to make babies with them has no deadline. If you never fulfill it then, at the very
least, they’d remain as your self-proclaimed allies, and the Elkian Federation would have one more race…
wouldn’t that be favorable for us?”
“Aah… that’s not a bad suggestion. I also thought about it. However, there are two problems with it.”
Sora said that with a bitter smile, took Shiro under his arm, and stood up──
“First one! My reason, my force of will won’t hold up in this kind of situation!!”
── L
et’s do perverted stuff ~♥. That kind of situation.
I need to keep ignoring beautiful girls who are constantly seducing me like that forever…?
That was a divine technique only the (super human) protagonists of teen rated love comedies could
master. It was impossible for a normal person like Sora.
“And second! I’ll say it as many times as is needed: they have the wrong person
── !!”
── The Ex-Machina would still not reproduce.
According to Einzig, he was already 5982 years over his service life. Someday they might just suddenly
go extinct, and that’d be unacceptable, but more importantly──!!
“What if someday they realize they have the wrong person!? Who knows what’ll happen then!!”
“B-but that’s their own misunderstanding… They have no reason to blame Master ──”
“For 6000 years their love has gotten worse and worse to the point that they are almost extinct. Do you
really expect that kind of logic to work on someone like that!? If it did, they wouldn’t be on the verge of
extinction would they!? So heavy! Their love is way too heavy!!”
── From the beginning the Elkia Federation has had almost no allies.
Getting betrayed by members could even be said to be a p
remise
of the Federation ── So internal
hostilities aren’t really a problem. The problem was that ── They have absolutely no idea what the
Ex-Machina are going to do──
“And that’s precisely why at that time Emiline is going to grab a kitchen knife and say ‘you have
deceived this unit’ and then ‘I will kill you and then myself’ ── I can picture it already! If it really
happened how would we even handle that!?”What would happen if a real yandere were to use the Ex-Machina’s uselessly reliable transcendental
abilities?
── Their worst enemy would make their explosive debut right then and there.
If the whole race made a coordinated attack against Sora, there’d be no way to deal with that.
Sora trembled at the unspeakable horrors in this world, when:
“In that case, I have a third proposal… No, it’s exactly what Master’s first demand said──” Jibril raised
her hand and said, as if she was asking a question.
“Unlocking the lock through a game… You can make those pigs accept the bet by betting that you’d fall
in love with them. Then, if you win, the Ex-Machina and an appropriate pig could get married and live
happily ever after. Wouldn’t that solve everything?”
… Yes, well, omitting some unnecessary ‘pigs’ here and there, that had been Sora’s f
irst plan: Use the
power of the pledges to release the ‘hardware lock’ and force them to reproduce on their own accord.
That’d mean to forcefully break the heart of someone who has been in love for 6000 years. Jibril was
asking if it was okay to try something like that again, so Sora asked back:

If you never fulfill it then, at the very

wouldn’t that be favorable for us?”
“Aah… that’s not a bad suggestion. I also thought about it. However, there are two problems with it.”
Sora said that with a bitter smile, took Shiro under his arm, and stood up──

── From the beginning the Elkia Federation has had almost no allies.
Getting betrayed by members could even be said to be a p

… Yes, well, omitting some unnecessary ‘pigs’ here and there, that had been Sora’s f
irst plan: Use the
power of the pledges to release the ‘hardware lock’ and force them to reproduce on their own accord.
That’d mean to forcefully break the heart of someone who has been in love for 6000 years. Jibril was
