No Matter How Long Time Passes I Still Love You - Chapter 183
Currently, everyone sat around the circular conference table with a solemn expression. Their eyes aimed towards one person; Qian Ling. While everyone was scratching their thighs in anticipation to Qian Ling’s story, she was taking her sweet time tasting tea.
Finally, Ariana couldn’t take the silence in the room. “Auntie Qian Ling, what happened during the past year? We tried looking for you, but couldn’t.”
Qian Ling smiled as she placed the cup of tea down. “You couldn’t have found me because I was purposely hiding from everyone. My body needed time to recuperate from the injuries and venom in my blood. To avoid enemies from finding me, I could only hide.”
Before Qian Ling had step foot into the hospital, she swore she wouldn’t talk about anything that wasn’t asked. The main reason for this is that she wanted to avoid talking about Alexander.
Grandpa Xia nodded since it made sense for her to hide from those bastards out there. “I heard from Zhi Hei about your successful revenge plan against the Shi family members. Now, your daughter is in charge of Shi Corps. Congratulations.”
Raising the corners of her lips, she replied, “Thank you. I finally avenged and returned the sufferings I’ve had for all these years to them. I’m glad Shi Xue didn’t end up like any of them.”
Zi Yan could care less about the details. All she wanted to know was Susu’s condition and when she could start treatment. As she opened her mouth to ask this question, Qian Ling answered.
“Susu’s condition is good, so I will start treatment soon. When I give her treatment, I need to be alone with her in the room. The treatment’s duration would be approximately half a year. During this time period, her immune system will function like a newborn’s body. Meaning, she could get sick much easier than before.”
“The weather is becoming colder. It’s ideal for her to stay in a room where heat is turned on daily. She will also need to consume more vegetables and fruits to replenish necessary vitamins. Her meals will be based on the meal plans I write for her. After treatments, she would need sufficient rest. There may be side effects and her appetite would worsen.”
“As her family and friends, please endure her random mood swings and emotional moments. This is a normal part of the process and sometimes, she might be too tired to even talk. Allow her to take the rest when she needs it. Try accommodating to her needs since her body would be going through hormonal changes and immense pain.”
Qian Ling described the stages of her treatment. Nobody would be able to understand Susu’s pain because they aren’t the ones accepting treatment. Even though she could make her get a full recovery, the pain from this treatment would be unbearable.
The way she had described it made it sound like eighteen levels of hell. Her words made everyone around the room gulp and worried for Susu. “Are there any ways to reduce the pain? Like painkillers?” Zi Yan couldn’t imagine seeing her daughter go through the pain. Even if it’s a little, she would like to find a way to lessen the pain.
Qian Ling shook her head in response. “The drug injected to her body plus cancerous cells had made the situation complex enough. I’m performing treatment on her to get rid of both of these at once. It is extremely painful, but she needs to endure it. Even if she groans in pain, painkillers are not allowed at all times.”
Sighing, Qian Ling begins explaining another major change to her body. “Since this treatment is equivalent to renewing her body, she would lose her current psychic abilities. The power in her body will be drained. That is also one of the reasons why this treatment would cause such pain. I will give you guys a list of herbs that must be gathered for her baths.”
“The herbs used will strengthen her poor immune system during the treatments. Right, she must stay in a room where there is a bathtub she could use. The herbs collected must be up to a year’s amount. You can gather more than a year’s amount, but definitely not less. Understand?”
Her instructions were clear and precise. The strictness in her tone showed no rooms for negotiation. If the herbs are not gathered completely, the treatment will not begin. Therefore, once the list of herbs was passed out to them, everyone started looking for it.
Ariana found an opportunity to ask about Alexander’s whereabout. When she asked, Qian Ling replied, “We’ll talk after Susu recovers. She’s the most important at the moment.”
During the following month, Susu had to drink bitter tea after every meal. Qian Ling would drop by and check on her condition to make sure her body was improving. Finally, the day of the first treatment came.
Everyone sat outside the private VIP room while waiting for the treatment to complete. The first session took three hours. When Qian Ling walked out of the room, her face was slightly pale. After taking some rest, she instructed Zi Yan, Lily and Ariana to fill the bathtub with boiled water.
Herbs were then scattered into the water. After the water changed to a light green color, they helped Susu remove her clothes and placed her in the bath. The water would be cooled down enough to not burn her skin when she bathes in it. Qian Ling stayed in the bathroom and continuously checked on her pulse during the bath session. Around half an hour passed when Ariana, Lily and Zi Yan were told to help Susu out of the bath.
When they entered, the earthy herb fragrance had been replaced by a weird smell. With one look at the tub of water, the herbs had turned slightly muddy. Fortunately, none of the thickened content were stuck to Susu’s body. After wiping her body, they carried her weakened body to bed.
Susu was too fatigue to say a word after the first session. The moment she reached the bed, she fell asleep. Even during her bath, her eyes had remained close. When she woke up, dizziness hit her badly that she ended up sniffling. Her body had no energy to even lift a finger.
There were times where Chen Mu asked yes or no questions and she couldn’t answer. According to the planned meals, everything was in liquid form for her to consume. Chen Mu would support her with his body while someone else would slowly feed her the meal.
It was difficult for her to eat at first because of severe nausea. Even when that happened, she still had to finish her meals. If she didn’t, Qian Ling would take over to eventually make her finish the food. The cycle repeated for the following months.
