No Where To Run: Trapped With My Archenemy - Chapter 61
UNEDITED CHAPTER- PLEASE WAIT, We are having heavy rainfall and my network is low
For a moment Yojiro felt that his heart stopped beating as the horror they were trying hard to avoid had finally found its way towards them.
“Ming Jiang, are you there?” The voice from the other side asked when he heard a pin drop silence from the receiver end.
“Yes…yes, sir,” Yojiro replied as soon as he regained his bearings and quickly stood up from the seat, quickly stormed outside.
“We collected your contact number from the Rising Ravens club’s register. I assume that you have visited the club on new year eve.”
“Yes sir. I was there when the accident happened.”
“Were you alone, or did you go with a friend?”
“My cousin was with me.”
“What’s his name and where do you live,”
“His name is Lin Tian…both of us are from dragon city and currently we stay in a rental place next to the Jing university.”
“Are you a student? Will you be able to come to the south city police station and give your statement?”
“Today, sir?”
“Yes, if it is possible.”
“Actually sir, our second term admissions are going on, and we are unable to leave the campus premises for two days. Can we give our statement later?”
“How about I come there?”
“Sir, if policemen come to the university regarding some enquiry, everyone will mistake us.”
“You don’t have to worry about it, I won’t be coming in my police uniform.”
“Sir, I’m a student on a charity scholarship. If someone hears that I visited the club with that money, I will be in trouble, sir. Please understand, sir, my entire future will be gone.”
“Huh, let me discuss with my superiors and get back to you.”
“Thank you so much, sir.”
“What happened?”
“Police, they want our statements.”
“We can’t just go and give random statements. Our stories should match with each other’s, otherwise, it will lead to more susception.”
“Also, we should inform it o nechan or else she won’t think twice to kill us,”
“We barely avoided getting our asses hit.”
“I have tried to avoid a confrontation in the police station. Let’s see if it works out.”
“God, what kind of mess is this? I just want to go home.”

“Captain, we have collected statements from almost 90 per cent of the visitors of Rising Raven on New Year Eve. There are very few people are left. They are students, and most of them are busy with the new term and course registration. I did tell them that I will directly come to the university and collect the statements. But one of them has a request.”
“What is it?”
“He is actually on some charity scholarship, and he took money from it and went for clubbing. So there is a chance that he might lose the scholarship. So he asked whether it is possible to meet somewhere else.”
“Oh please, do it. You know how hard is to acquire a scholarship, but make sure to collect as much data as possible, including his personal contacts. We can’t take any chances.”
“Okay, captain.”
“Should I come with you?”
“No, captain. I will do it.”
“We do something, take Bing Wen with you. He is a dire need of sunlight and some travelling
Just as she remained there petrified, the phone in her hands rang loudly, pulling her out of the dazed state.
At that moment, the closed door of the bathroom opened and steams leisurely entered the room.
“What are you doing here, miss Ming?” Wan Yi Jun asked as his eyebrows creased into a deep frown,
Wan Yi Jun stepped out of the shower wearing a pure white bath towel, and the first thing he noticed in the room was the girl who stood next to the bed, holding his phone in one hand.
“I…I…” All of a sudden, Ming Yue felt that she had run out of excuses as she blatantly stared at the half-naked man before her eyes.
Well, no one could blame her, though.
Wan Yi Jun’s tanned body appeared glistening from his recent shower. His muscular chest and abdomen reminded her of a perfectly carved statue.
“You?” Wan Yi Jun narrowed his eyes and took a step forward, intimidating the other.
“You…you…”
“I?” He moved closer to Ming Yue, whose face just turned red like a tomato.
All of sudden, Ming Yue threw away the phone at him and covered her eyes,
Whether it was because of Wan Yi Jun’s high reflex, he caught the phone in the air like a pro.
“What are you doing here, miss Ming?” Wan Yi Jun asked in a serious tone. Though he was surprised by her actions, he couldn’t overlook the fact that she got inside his room without any permission.
“Please wear some clothes, master.” Ming Yue almost screamed as she tightly shut her ears as if she doesn’t want to show her embarrassed face.
“I’m sorry, master.” Ming Yue somehow regained her bearings and dragged her legs away from the bed.
“Construction workers are here, master. I came to inform you, but you weren’t replying. So I came inside and found your phone ringing…I will leave right away.”
“Hmm, please leave,”
“I’m extremely sorry, master.”
“It’s okay. I will come out in a moment, and please attend them.”
Ming Yue almost ran out of the room, holding her life in hand.
The moment she stepped outside, Ming Yue collapsed onto the floor as if she lost her balance.
Even she wasn’t sure why her heart was pounding so hard,
Whether it was a shock of finding her picture on Wan Yi Jun’s phone or watching him half-naked, she wasn’t sure either.
After a long moment, Ming Yue took a deep breath and calmed herself.
When Wan Yi Jun came out changing, he couldn’t find Ming Yue anywhere.
“Did I scare her? Miss Ming?” He called out in a worried voice. He wasn’t sure whether he acted as a police officer and almost interrogated her, just like he did on the first day they met each other.
“Master, I’m here.”
All of sudden, Ming Yue’s voice was heard from the courtyard and
Wan Yi Jun walked towards the door to find his confused maid standing next to his car.
“Are you sure?” Wan Yi Jun asked doubtingly, as he walked out of the house and stood next to Ming Yue.
“Yes, look at the marks in the soil. There were at least six or seven construction workers.”
“Hmm,” He picked up his phone and dialled the number of the agency that was in charge of renovation marks. But for some reason, they didn’t pick up.
“Master, I think they left.” She informed with her eyes focused in the direction of the gate left wide open. “Those construction workers, I saw their truck and even talked to one of them, but they just left without a word.”
“What did the worker say, miss Ming?” He casually asked while dialling the number once again.
“What the hell?” He almost dropped his phone onto the floor,
“I think they left the mansion out of fear.” Ming Yue expressed her opinion based on what she heard earlier. Though she felt that the construction worker appeared brave, it didn’t guarantee that rest of his team would be brave enough to repair a haunted house.
“That man said that the previous team members saw some shadowy figures in the house, and that’s the reason why they quit working here.” Ming Yue shared whatever he heard from the worker without any second thoughts, only to shock Wan Yi Jun, who didn’t expect such a reply.
“Aiissshhh…” Wan Yi Jun pressed his temples and almost cursed at his bad luck.
“It’s alright, master. There is a construction worker where I live. Should I ask him to get it done?” Ming Yue asked when she felt an opportunity coming on her way to infiltrate into wisteria garden’s inner chambers.
“Let me try once again. If I’m unable to persuade the agency to work here, we can think about it.” Wan Yi Jun said as he moved closer to the car,
“Okay. Master, are you going now? I had made breakfast. Please eat it and go.” She simply crossed his path and asked once again,
“Should I pack the breakfast, then?”
“Didn’t hear me, Miss? I got no time for you.” Wan Yi Jun harshly shouted and unlocked the car,
“Hmm, sorry, master. Please drive safely,” She apologetically bowed her head and moved away from him.
It was evident that Wan Yi Jun was in a bad mood, so she didn’t dare to make him any angrier.
However, Wan Yi Jun didn’t get inside the car, as he stood staring at Ming Yue’s reflection on the windowpane.
“Did you forget anything, master?”
“I’m sorry, miss Ming. I didn’t mean to hurt you. It’s just I had something else in my mind.”
“You didn’t hurt me, master.”
“This is for you,”
“What’s it?”
“This is my old phone, you can use it till you get a new phone and spare key to the mansion.”
