No Where To Run: Trapped With My Archenemy - Chapter 79
UNEDITED: PLEASE WAIT FOR 1 HOUR
Once the security alarm rang in the mansion, Wan Yi Jun and Ming Yue stormed towards the living room to check the footage from the CCTV.
Officer Han?
“I thought he is not coming today,”
“It’s alright, we can manage it somehow.”
“I will go and get him.”
“That’s it…They are living alone in this mansion…It’s just them, and nobody else knows about it….even officer Han doesn’t know about her…Now everything just falls into its place.
She is the reason why captain rejected miss Zhi.”
“Good lord, when are you going to stop sticking your nose into someone else’s business?”
“I’m not sticking my nose into captain’s business. I’m just happy that he has finally decided to put his life before anything else.”
“10 dollars, if they are having an affair.”
“You are betting on your superior’s personal life do you know that?
“Of course, 50 dollars if just a house owner and servant.”
“Deal.”
“Don’t you dare to take part in this crazy fit, Senior Fei,”
“No…no…I’m out… I don’t care as long as Captain is happy.”
“That means, he also thinks that she is captain’s girlfriend and they are living together.”
“Officer Han, we tried to call you, but your phone was switched off.”
“I wasn’t feeling well, so I just turned off my phone and slept.”
“How are you now?”
“I feel better, that’s why I’m here.”
“You could have called me and informed me that you are coming.”
“Do I really need permission to come here? And what’s with the new security system?”
“Are you still allergic to shellfish?”
“Ahhh…you made Shellfish, don’t you?”
“You said you weren’t coming.”
“So what? This is my house too.”
“Yi Jun…”
“Who are you.”
“I’m Ming Yue,”
“Ming Yue…! How come I haven’t seen you before…”
“Why don’t we eat something and talk later?”
” Hmm, master, actually, I have made some dumplings earlier and kept them in the freezer. Is it okay if I serve those for your cousin?”
“Yes. It’s totally fine.”
“Let us help you, miss Ming.”
“As we e
Even after hearing Ming Yue quoting her wound as an action to repay her kindness, Wan Yi Jun couldn’t completely accept her answer as he felt that it was so unfair for choose death over life.
“The place where I lived, it was a custom to be indebted to people who show kindness towards to you… especially when you are at your worst.” Ming spoke in a mellow voice that silently sunk into the darkness spread over the bedroom.
“But why hurting youself to pay your debt to someone else. I’m sorry, but it feels somewhat barbaric to me.” Wan Yi Jun said his mind without sugar coating his words. Though he was a descendant of a mighty warrior clan who happens to follow such kind of practices, since he grew up abroad, he never tried to acknowledge any of the customs that was88 part of Wan clan or the wisteria gardens.
Even after hearing Ming Yue quoting her wound as an action to repay her kindness, Wan Yi Jun couldn’t completely accept her answer as he felt that it was so unfair to choose death over life.
“A couple of years ago. I was the ugly one, so I was supposed to be sent to a brothel.” Ming Yue paused for a moment when she heard Wan Yi Jun clicking his tongue as if she said something wrong.
“Everyone called me ‘the lucky one’ and envied me for bringing the highest bid to the table…but what I wanted was freedom. But I couldn’t break away from the golden cage they have locked me in. So I asked him to do me a favour,”
While Ming Yue carried ahead with her story, Wan Yi Jun, on the other hand, was trying to connect the dots with her previous story with this new one. Though she sounded believable, for some reason, he struggled to draw a clear picture from Ming Yue’s words.
“I asked him to kill me, but that idiot, he just made a slashed me to scare off the buyer.” Ming Yue said with so much ease as if it was no big deal for her.
“Him?” Wan Yi Jun asked when he noticed the gentle affectionate tone as she spoke,
“The one whom I mentioned earlier.”
“The one whom you like?” He inquired to confirm his doubt. From the way she spoke about a special someone in her life, it was clear that it was a man whom she loved. But still, Wan Yi Jun’s mind was lingering on the credibility of her story.
“It would be better to say that I’m indebted to him.” Ming Yue mumbled in a barely audible voice, “The gratitude and admiration towards someone who would put himself in death’s hands to save someone else.”
“It sounds love to me,” Wan Yi Jun unknowingly remarked, picking up hints from her soft voice.
“He was barely eighteen when I met him for the first time. The youngest son of a rich family in the city.” Ming Yue’s lips curled into a gentle smile when she dwelled into the memories, “We literally met on the streets, and like every other man, he also looked at me in aversion, but deep down in his heart, he also wanted to sleep with me. But what to do? He was still a minor. So we decided to become friends with benefits and wait until he turns eighteen.”
“Hmm,” Wan Yi Jun half-heartedly replied while recalling the story Ming Yue has shared with him. “But didn’t you tell me that you lived as a maid for your lady and her patron who happens to be a smuggler?”
He tried his best to keep his question as genuine as possible so that Ming Yue won’t feel that he was being sceptical. However, Ming Yue, on the other hand, didn’t even hesitate to ask Wan Yi Jun whether he doubts her.
“Do you find it difficult to believe my story, master?” She gently perched her body up using her right hand as a support and glanced at Wan Yi Jun, who sat on the bed with no intention to sleep.
“No…It wasn’t like that. I was just curious about your age. It seemed like you are still in your twenties.” Wan Yi Jun quickly explained what he was actually in his head. Ming Yue looked too young to go through all these terrible things in life.
“I was sent to an orphanage when I was thirteen. I stayed in the courtesan house till sixteen, then I lived with my lady for two years, and when she died, they dragged me into the brothel when I was barely over eighteen.” Ming Yue stopped and looked around the room before continuing, “Here, I’m almost twenty-five years old and works as a maid at wisteria gardens. Does this answer your question, young master Wan or do you want me to explain more?”
“No. I told you, I was just curious because you are still young and…While I was at your age…” Wan Yi Jun didn’t complete his words when he felt that its wrong to compare both of their lives.
“I grew up in a world different from yours, master, and there, people mature faster… A place, too dark and gore for people like you.” “Ming Yue corrected him.
“It’s my fault that I compared your life with mine. I’m sorry, Ming Yue,” Wan Yi Jun quickly apologized for his mistakes and tried to change the topic before it was too late, “But where did you live all these years?”
“I lived in various cities, before coming here. Different cities, different people, and finally, I’m here.” Ming Yue gave an ambiguous reply,
“I’m sorry that you had to go through such a painful ordeal.” Wan Yi Jun couldn’t think of any other words when he listened to her.
“It’s alright, master. All these painful ordeals made the person whom I’m.” She added with a faint smile. Of course, if her parents were still alive, she would have grown up as a young miss of an elite family without any experience of the world outside her mansion.
“So, where is he? the person whom you like? The one who made you promise?” Wan Yi Jun inquired when he realized that he had diverged from their first topic. However, Ming Yue’s casual reply made him shock a little bit.
“You are not in contact with him?” Wan Yi Jun asked once again. After listening to Ming Yue’s protests, he really thought she was in a relationship. However, this was something unexpected,
“Well, you are a young master of a prestigious family, and do you think your family would allow you to be in contact with someone who almost made you into a murderer?” Ming Yue’s question struck Wan Yi Jun like a sharp arrow of self-realization.. Of course, his family also abandoned Tsuki just because she was a murderer’s daughter.
