No Where To Run: Trapped With My Archenemy - Chapter 93
Unedited: Please wait for some time
Once the clock struck 9, Wan Yi Jun’s steadfast attempts to seek permission for visiting Gui Xiang had finally become successful, when they received a mail from the commissioner’s office, approving their request to travel.
Since the decision to leave the imperial as early as possible, the eagle team gladly had their dinner and left Wisteria gardens before its too late.
As soon as the last car drove out of the compound, Wan Yi Jun locked the gate and looked at Ming Yue, with a conflicted look on his face.
Well, the real issue starts now.
“So master will be gone for at least a week. Should I help you pack your bags?” Ming Yue sounded rather excited as she offered a hand to help him. But watching her docile expression, it was Wan Yi Jun who started to worry instead of Ming Yue who will be left alone in the mansion from tomorrow.
“No, thanks, Miss Ming. But will you be okay to stay here alone after what happened to you?” He asked while signalling at the strange accidents that occurred in the mansion last night. “What if something happens, again?”
“I don’t think so, master. We had guests today, and nothing happened here. No accidents, no glass break or whatsoever.” Ming Yue sounded rather aloof and a bit more confident than the house owner.
“But you will be alone here for god knows how many days. Should I ask someone to stay here for your protection?” Wan Yi Jun, who couldn’t stop fretting over Ming Yue’s security, kept suggesting various methods to ensure that she would be safe and secure until he return, from Gui Xiang.
“Are you kidding me, master? You put security systems all over this place, just for my sake. Why do I need more protection? I will be alright.” Ming Yue repeated as many times as possible to put Wan Yi Jun’s mind at peace. To be very honest, it started to irritate her as he acted as if he was overly concerned about her. Thanks to Han Ze Min’s desperate and clingy efforts to make her agree to his fake relationship deal, Ming Yue was on the verge of her endurance level. If she had to put up with Wan Yi Jun’s clingy personality for something similar, even she doesn’t guarantee what will be her reaction.
“I will go and stay with my old landlord until you return, is that fine?” Ming Yue asked as a last resort to put an end to their conversation. “She would be fine if I stayed there for a couple of days.”
“I’m sorry, I don’t have many acquaintances in this city…otherwise..” Wan Yi Jun apologetically said while unknowingly ruffling his hair to let out his frustration, “Wait a minute, let me ask my friend if he could let you in for a couple of days.” When he got a sudden idea, he immediately fished out his phone and went through the contact list.
Watching her calculations go wrong in a couple of seconds, Ming Yue suddenly grabbed Wan Yi Jun’s wrist and stopped him from contacting his friend.
“What are you doing master? I’m perfectly fine with staying here alone. Didn’t I tell you that I know how to fight?” She asked while trying hard not to grit her teeth in annoyance.
“Yeah, but…Woah!!!” Wan Yi Jun unknowingly groaned when he felt a sudden pain rising from his wrist. Shockingly he lowered his gaze at his hand and looked at Ming Yue’s deadly grip over his wrist.
He couldn’t believe it, she just twisted his wrist, without any hesitation, that too with her injured grip.
“See, I know how to take care of me…” Ming Yue proudly declared while a lethally enchanting smile bloomed over her face,
From the moment he had witnessed how Ming Yue handled the drunken man at the brothel, he was actually wondering how powerful she is and how heavy her punches were…
Now that he had experienced it in real, he did not doubt that she will be able to take care of herself.
And of course, it would be shameful to even think that someone like her, who had suffered enough in her life will flinch before an attacker.
“Should I give a demo of what else I can do, master?” Ming Yue casually asked, as if fighting with him was no big deal for her.
“No, I trust you…completely…” Wan Yi Jun smilingly gave her a nod of approval, and Ming Yue released her grip over his wrist as if nothing had happened,
“how’s your wound? Shouldn’t we disinfect and bandage it?”
“It’s already late, please go to sleep.”
“Nope, you should take better care of yourself.”
“I will leave my car, here, so that people might think that I’m home.”
“You are worrying too much.”
Only she knew how badly she had to try to deviate Wan Yi Jun and his team’s attention to something else and send them out of the city for a while.
So that she can finally start working on her mission.
“How did it go? Are they suspecting us?”
“Nah…to be very honest, they didn’t know who to suspect. You guys are totally safe.”
“Huh..That’s a relief.”
“Anyway, we can finally focus on our own mission.”
“What is it, Nechan? What’s our mission?”
“Well, you don’t have that much work. It’s something that you have already done in the past.”
“We just have to keep an eye on someone and get his detailed schedule and his contacts and everything for the next to weeks.”
“I’m on it, but who?”
“Who?”
“You don’t really have to follow him, even his assistant would suffice, got it.”
“Yes, sure.”
“Han Shi Zhong, the chairman of HK corporations.”
“Chairman of HK corporations?”
“Yes. If you can’t do it, please do tell me beforehand.”
“Nechan, he is the one who practically rules this country…Nah this continent itself. Do you want to spy on someone like him? Isn’t dangerous?”
“Only if you get caught.”
“But still.”
“Wan Yi Jun and his team will be going out of the city for at least two days, if you can at least gather his daily schedule, inform me as soon as possible.”
“Nechan, what exactly are you planning? Tora is bugging me to tell your location so that he can come here.”
“Don’t you dare speak a word about imperial to him?”
“Then tell us about your plan? Are you planning to kill that chairman?”
“Kill him? Nope, I have no plan to kill. He has to live…he has to live long enough to see his empire crumbling down before his eyes.”
“Hmm, should we start from his house or his office?”
“From his house. Keep a tab on every single person who are meeting him and his family for the next two weeks.”
“I’m not saying that organ trafficking is behind the missing case. I’m just giving you an option. You can take it or ignore it.” Ming Yue gently shrugged her shoulders,
dragged into any kind of a mess.” Han Ze Min smilingly said and gave a thumbs-up sign to Ming Yue, evidently showing that he has grown closer to her.
The moment, Wan Yi Jun noticed the change of tone in his cousin’s voice, an unknown bitterness spread over his mind.
“But we didn’t find any record of money transactions or did we?” Wan Yi Jun looked at the rest of the team for an answer, only to receive a “no” in
He purposefully called out for Ming Yue by a pet name showing off his closeness to the only girl in the room.
“Since there are no records for money transactions, we have to depend upon some other material evidence, like witness statements from Shu Li Li’s friends and families and call records.” Wan Yi Jun hopefully looked at Bing Wen, who sat there with a laptop.
They have already gone through the witness statements numerous times and couldn’t find anything helpful.
“Captain, I have something to say,” Fei Yan gathered everyone’s attention all at once,
“Didn’t we say that we couldn’t find anything common between the Shu Li Li and the missing case?”
“Hmmm.” Wan Yi Jun gently nodded in agreement.
“But there is something common between the reopening of that missing case and Shu Li Li.” Fei Yan signalled Bing Wen to hand over the laptop and he immediately took out the enquiry report of the missing case.
“Do you remember when Shu Li Li’s friend mentioned an assault attempt in their apartment complex? The timeline of that incident parallels with the reopening of the missing case.”
“When they found out skeletal remains from the mountain?” Wan Yi Jun excitedly asked when he finally found hope,
“Yes, captain. Both the incidents happened two years ago. If we look more into it, we might find something.” Fei Yan confidently suggested, “There were some difficulties to acquire the list of sanitation works from the agency, but somehow I managed to gather the names.”
Fei Yan took out a small notepad from his pocket and gave it to Wan Yi Jun, which he handed over to Bing Wen,
