Not A Cultivator - Chapter 151
The girls were stricken with amazement. It’s Fei Bao Xing, again. Without any doubt, his analysis was accurate, every single thing he said was on the point. Since everyone focused on the spirit beasts, no one would have thought the keys would be in the same situation where the fake keys were previously, lying down on the ground.
Of course, it was part of the test. Silver Hands Owl was very proud of its past where they have produced several high-class thieves. To be one of them, it was a necessary requirement to have a broader point of view and to search in an unexpected place.
The finding of the blue key only proved the point, and the girls knew that. But, for them have to be pointed by Fei Bao Xing, they just could not accept it. Especially, Guan Ru Yi who hates him the most, because of him, she felt like she was slapped hard in the face. Moreover, she complained in front of her Young Lady Min because of it. Blood rage rises through her temple, biting down her lower lip hard that blood trickled down.
Yet, the man himself, Fei Bao Xing was surprised as well. He only said that in a spur of the moment because he was pressured to. His analysis was nothing more than an unproven hypothesis, In fact, he was prepared for it goes false and being scolded by the girls.
“With this, we have secured 11 points.” As always, Chang Miao composed herself not to express emotions more than necessary before declaring the next move. “Now that we have confirmed that the blue key does exist, we should explore more. I’ll be looking for a suspicious spot on the ground and dig it, Ru Na will be in charge of cutting down trees, and Ru Yi will flip any rocks she sees. However, if we spot a spirit beast, don’t let it go, we just can’t let a key pass by no matter how small it is.”
The Guan sisters nodded, then concentrated on the task given. But from the command, Fei Bao Xing was not given anything to do. It was because he’s not considered as their team or he was a dead weight in searching and was left out only to do the thinking. Either way, it was not a good feeling for Fei Bao Xing, but he could not express his displease and decided to shut his mouth.
It was not long before Chang Miao found a suspicious soil, where the grass was too dry and different. She swiftly places her palm on the ground as if she was used to it. Suddenly, the land around began to move and left a crack on the ground. Just like a fountain, the soil shook upwards, and with it, a key flew along.
“Another blue key. Chang Miao, good job!”
“As expected of Chang Miao, that was a very skilled move.”
Then, Guan Ru Na discovered another Blue Striped Squirrel as she quickly captured it and stole the key.
“Ru Na, you work very fast just like always!”
“That’s my sister, your skill has improved again. I won’t lose…”
Just like usual, the girls praised each other. But, when Fei Bao Xing pointed out his idea, no one said anything to him, not even a thanks. As time goes, he felt the girls just casually brought Fei Bao Xing along, and he was treated just like another luggage. At this awkward situation, Fei Bao Xing let out a big sigh since there was nothing he could do.
Guan Ru Yi was currently making a smile, but she felt a bit of unease as it has been quite a while since she discovered any key. Flipping the rock earlier was not counted as it was a coincidence. But, just like her sister, she would like to be useful to the group. She just could not help but grin every time she praised by Young Lady Min. As a result, she concentrated harder on doing her task.
“Hoot… Hoot…”
A small voice resounded in her ears. She quickly looked upwards and discovered a spirit beast hanging upside down from a tree branch.
“There’s a blue key on that owl!” Guan Ru Yi pointed at the spirit beast.
It was a Water Moon Owl, another spirit beast which was in the same rank of Blue Striped Squirrel. Although, this owl was considered a bit superior as it flew fast considering its level.
“Good job Ru Yi! You even discovered a blue key.” With a sincere smile, Chang Miao gave her praise.
“Yes… Everyone wait here, I’ll go get it.” Guan Ru Yi was excited as she was appreciated by Young Lady Min. However, she can’t stop here, she chased after the Water Moon Owl to finish the job.
Fei Bao Xing stumbled down since Guan Ru Yi let go of his hand to chase after the owl. At the time of the fall, he felt a sudden cold chill down his spine as if his intuition tells him something was wrong. As someone who’s at the edge of death many times, unexpectedly he developed an instinct to detect some kind of danger.
Although from the current situation, only Guan Ru Yi was in action, and nothing was going wrong. But, he could not see anything in this darkness, so he had to be cautious.
“Did you just say a spirit beast carrying a blue key?” He asked, just in case.
“Yes, a Water Moon Owl” replied Chang Miao. “Is there any problem?”
“Water Moon Owl! A low second rank…” Fei Bao Xing face gone pale. “This is bad… If a Blue Striped Squirrel of the same rank only offers a green key. There’s no reason for this one to carry a higher value key. Call Guan Ru Yi back! Before it’s too late.”
Chang Miao creased his eyebrow “Aren’t you just exaggerating?”
As the more time passed, the worse feeling he felt. He nervously explained, “…It’s just another one of my analysis. But, don’t you think the name Silver Hands Owl is weird? It must have something to do with owl… I’m afraid that Water Moon Owl was trained.”
As Fei Bao Xing has proven previously with his analysis, Chang Miao took his advice seriously. She nodded before she issued an order, “Ru Yi, come ba…”
However, it was too late. Guan Ru Yi had chased after the Water Mon Owl. Unlike the average of the species, the one she chased was faster and agile. As if the owl was leading her to some kind of place. In the end, she was too late to realise what happened.
“Kyaaa… Help!!!”
From afar, Guan Ru Yi’s shriek was heard by her teammate.
“Oh, No! That’s Ru Yi…” Chang Miao said as she launched herself toward the voice. With Guan Ru Na following from behind, the two girls left Fei Bao Xing alone by himself.
“Help me!!!”
Guan Ru Yi’s cry was still heard, she must be in terrible danger. Fei Bao Xing clenched his fist tightly as he looked towards the source of the voice. Fei Bao Xing made up his mind.
He turned around and walked towards the other direction away from the voice.
[There’s no way I’m going that way, it’s just the same as seeking death. Once whatever that is caught the girls, I’ll be next. I’ll have a better chance of surviving by going the other way!]
Without the ability to see n the dark, Fei Bao Xing slowly trying to makes his way to safety. In the corner of his eyes, he sees a speck light.
“Ooohh… A light. I’m almost at the exit of the forest, I’m saved!”
Without any further thought, he ran towards the light as he laughed maniacally.
“Hahahaa… I’m saved! I’m saved! I’m saved… Wait! What!?…”
“Gyaaaaooooooo!!!”
However, what awaits him was not the exit. In fact, he was still in the middle of the forest.
Not far from him was Guan Ru Yi severely injured and fainted.
In front of him, was none other than a spirit beast. With at least three times taller than him and its length was seven times his height. With its scary dead eyes and sharp teeth that make everyone shuddered.
Its eyes were set on the new fresh meat, Fei Bao Xing legs became weak before he fell into the ground. He became hopeless in this situation as he anticipated his death.
However, he still could not understand what happened.
[How… Guan Ru Yi’s voice was from the other way around. Why is she here?]
“Hoot… Hoot…”
It was the Water Moon Owl. With its ability to cause confusion, it’s manipulating the group that the voice came from the other way. As a result, it was Chang Miao and Guan Ru Na, who went in the wrong direction.
