(Hello lovelies, on the spirit of Valentine day here is a little gift from me to you. This is one of the stories in the collection of Romantic scenes between Su Liya and Lu Yaozhu, stretch out for your enjoyment)
******************
Prince Wu’s mansion, the main Courtyard.
After weeks of construction, Su Liya and Lu Yaozhu’s new residence was set. Throughout the construction, Lu Yaozhu brought Su Liya with him to check the progress of construction. The first time the couple visited their new home was three days after Lu Yaozhu was newly conferred Prince Wu.
Su Liya and Lu Yaozhu sat on the carriage as they rode slowly to their new home. The residence was a street away from the Duke’s mansion at the golden section of the capital. Su Liya had passed this street a few times on the way to the palace. It was homes to the senior members of the royal family, the roads were squeaky clean. There wasn’t a single vendor on sight and security was almost as tight as it was in the palace.
The residence in this section of the capital was magnificent with one grander than the other. Su Liya who sat next to Lu Yaozhu leaned to the side, her head resting on Lu Yaozhu, firm shoulders. Lu Yaozhu held her closer, his chin inches away from her hair. The sway of the carriage was calming, Su Liya had grown to appreciate cuddling with Lu Yaozhu.
She played gently with Lu Yaozhu’s hair while breathing gently. This was a position she now preferred these past few months. Lu Yaozhu rubbed her back gently, there was no need to few the silence with words. They had grown past that stage and were used to quiet company. Su Liya pulled away from his holiday the carriage stopped, she drew a stay strand of her hair behind her ear as she tried to make herself decent.
Lu Yaozhu came down the carriage as soon as it came to a stoop and the step was set by the footmen. He stretched out his hand and helped bring her down the carriage, the Elderly steward Uncle Xie stood by the gate as they arrived. He gave them a salute before giving them a tour of the residence. Su Liya and Lu Yaozhu walked into the residence hand in hand. They looked around and took note of the parts of the residence that needed to renovate.
The steward led them to various parts of the residence before coming to the main courtyard. Lu Yaozhu dismissed the servant as they got in, instructing them to wait outside while they accompanied Su Liya to explore what was to be their new residence. They had let go of each other’s hands at some point, with Su Liya walking ahead.
The courtyard was spacious and grand, unlike the usual arrangement of most residents at this time. The main courtyard was constructed as a single building as opposed to the usual separate pavilion used by most couples. Small flower beds surrounded the building, which was a sight to behold. Su Liya stood back and admired the scene in front of her.
She began to imagine the little touches and adjustments that she could make to their residence to improve it and make it more their taste. She jumped and glanced up as a hand wrapped around her waist. She smiles up at him stepping into his hold. Lu Yaozhu pulled her close and kissed her softly on the forehead.
“I lost you for a second there, like what you see”, he said raising her chin and moving closer. Su Liya sensing that he was going in for a kiss pulled back, cheeks heating up. She glanced over her shoulder but didn’t see any of their servants behind them. Su Liya gaze moved back to Lu Yaozhu with creased brows, “where are the servants, I don’t see them behind us”.
“I sent them away, needed to have you all to myself without an audience”, he pulled her tighter and brought down his lips to hers. Her temperature heated up, as they got closer. Su Liya held the front of his shirt and wrapped her hands around his shoulder. Lu Yaozhu socked gently on her lower lips, Su Liya stood on the tip of her toes slipping her tongues past his lips.
Their tongues tangled, he pulled her off the ground their lips still merged. Su Liya hooked both legs around his waist as he stepped forward. Finally stopping at the balcony and placing her on the balcony as he deepened the kiss. Su Liya pulled away to breathe, eyes locked on his while breathing fast. Lu Yaozhu glanced around them and moved his lip a few inches from her ears.
“It is too open here, once you have gotten your breathing in check, let’s go inside. I bet there is a bed in there”
Su Liya blushed at that and glanced down. She jumped to her feet and ran into the living room. Lu Yaozhu grinned and walked in calmly. Su Liya leaned lightly on a table and glanced at him. “This courtyard isn’t like the usual”.
Lu Yaozhu walked to the table and leaned over her, both hands placed at her sides. Grinning he replied, “Yes, the former Prince that occupied this residence was a romantic”, he moved close to her ear and whispered, “like me”.
Su Liya smiled, “so you are a romantic? How cute, what is his story”.
“He was a doctor and fell in love with the only child of his teacher. She was quite the beauty, well according to people. Don’t know it was long before my time. She had a genetic illness that left her bedridden most of the year, this also meant that she could never have a child. Her body couldn’t stand that, most people would leave when they discovered that but he never did. He was madly in love with her as I am with you.
“The Emperor back then was very fond of this son of his so he gave a decree and married the two love birds, together with a concubine. You see he hoped that his son would get the concubine with a child but that never happened because the couples were inseparable. They stayed together for a decade and even after his five died. He never remarried, like I said a romantic”.
“Like you”, she chuckled, blushing.
“No not completely like me, I would never marry a concubine. One woman is enough from me” he moved closer and pecked her cheeks.
Su Liya bend over his hands and stepped away, “I guess they shared a room, cute”.
“My parents also shared a room, they were each others soul mate. Sometimes I feel that my mother only stayed alive because of us. My dad died in battle, I still remember the day my mother was informed of my father’s death. It was like her world had come to an end, she refused to eat or sleep. She just sat by the door, waiting for my father to return. Nobody could convince her to get up, my sister was only 5 and a half years old but my mother barely looked at her.
“She was in her a world of her own, one night I sneaked into her room and found my mum holding a knife. She wanted to join my dad, I was so scared and ran to her and hit the knife away. She looked at me silently for minutes before finally breaking into tears. I never told anyone about this but given our relationship, I feel we should talk about that.”
He walked to her and held her hands, “don’t act like my mother, if anything happens to me one day. You are allowed to cry but don’t try to end your life. I would never want you to do that, don’t lose yourself in me. Love me but save a little of yourself and hold on. Life is precious, so don’t let go. I love you so much but I don’t ever want you to let go.
“I want you to be alive and visit my grave yearly to complain about me. I want to hear you tell me about how things are, inform me when our child makes you angry. Tell me when our children are getting married and if you want to remarry introduce me to him. I should have the last say in these things, I need to check that new man and make sure he is right for you. I don’t know how long I have here but I want to spend every waking moment with you. I love you”.
Su Liya helped his shirt and pull him down, ” me too” she kissed him gently. They stopped before it got more heated up, after tidying up their clothes they left the room hand in hand.. The servants didn’t notice anything out of place although they were a little suspicious.
