Npc Into Player: Let’s Wreck This Game - Chapter 296: War Is Coming
“I… killed him,” he said while closely watching her reaction.
And she simply glanced at him with extreme shock.
“He… is level hundred mayor!” she couldn’t help but exclaim in shock.
“and I killed him,” he casually said as if he was talking about killing level one NPC here, “at least… temporarily.”
“Temporarily?!!” Her shock was even bigger this time. “What the hell is this supposed to mean?”
“He had a gear that can grant him an extra life like players,” Bloom explained, “so around this time he would be resurrected in the town and would come fast at us with all his might.”
“This…” she was shocked to say anything before collecting herself in a few minutes, “what did you do exactly to him?”
“I… took something so precious to him,” Bloom said, “an item, an item that’s so important to him.”
“And why did you even do that?”
“It’s my own business,” he simply said, “but I need you to consider something else.”
His tone made her refrain from asking more. “Consider what?” she asked with a helpless look over her face.
“War,” he said, and his words changed her face the next moment as she realized what he was hinting at.
“I… doubt my town can sustain such a war,” she bitterly said and didn’t continue.
“Do you think he would come alone?”
“He would go to my two other uncles and I believe with some money and promises of good gears they would join him.”
“Hmm…” Bloom thought for a moment there before saying, “then I’ll need you to send messages to them… if the wealth is what they wanted, then I’ll gladly give them more than your uncle will promise.”
“This…” she seemed not to be convinced by his words, “he will promise them my seat, can you offer them more?”
Her words managed to shut him up and kill all the plans he had regarding these two uncles.
“They are after your seat?” he couldn’t help but ask, while he was feeling sympathy towards her.
“They even tried to force me to marry one of their sons one time,” she bitterly said, “and if they would gain what they long desired by war then they would gladly join their entire forces.”
Bloom could only shake his head in sympathy. “Then we need intel about their forces.”
“This… I can easily get,” she said, “but at least they will bring a thousand NPC army to my gates. Can we defend the town then?”
He smiled and only said, “Leave this war to me, all I want from you is logistic support.”
She glanced in doubt while he only smiled. He wasn’t overconfident as he knew a thousand army of level fifty and above NPCs was something no player could face at this time.
Yet he still held great hopes over the system quest he was now about to finish.
“Also I need to know their levels, main gears and also their factions and classes if possible.”
“I… will try to do my best,” she didn’t promise to get him these answers and he understood how difficult it was to get such answers at this short time.
“When do you think they will attack us?”
“Soon,” Bloom said, “I believe they won’t take more than a couple of days before coming to us. By the way, how long is the marching distance to the Swor town?”
“March?” she noticed the word he selected.
“Of course we won’t allow them to enter the town by teleportation, right?” he laughed as this was pretty obvious.
“Well… I think perhaps a day at least or even two,” she hesitated, “but one of my uncle’s towns lies even closer to me. I believe they will move there and march to my town.”
“How long?”
“A day at most.”
“Then we have a day to prepare then,” Bloom nodded before he noticed the end of the road was at the horizon. “You go back and start your work there,” he suddenly said.
“What about you?”
“I have something to do here,” Bloom changed his eyes before adding, “start blocking the teleportation to anyone belonging to their three towns. Also one of my trusted subordinates will come to your mansion and ask for tickets. Give him as much as he asks and I’ll pay you once I return.”
She watched him in doubt before her doubts turned into amazement. “You don’t intend to amass player there?”
“That’s the only way to face such an army.”
“But…”
“Just don’t worry about that, I told you this war will be handled by me,” he firmly said, “just leave a message to Tondel about my butler… his name is Antoan and he will come to see you soon.”
“Antoan… alright, I will make sure to prepare enough tickets then,” she paused before adding, “how many can you gather in less than a day?”
“If I used my old identity then I can amass a grand army,” he bitterly laughed, “but I can’t use my real name for now. So I hope we can get enough to stop this army at your walls and gate.”
She didn’t say anything until they exited the range of the town and the tickets regained their function again.
“Don’t do anything stupid,” she warned.
“Don’t worry about me,” he smiled, “I’m not that easy to be killed.”
“I… can see that,” she only glanced deeply at him for a long minute before she used her ticket and left the place returning to her town.
“Now… it’s time to see what the system will give me in return to this quest,” he turned to move towards a nearby forest before hiding there and lied in wait.
He wanted to see with his two eyes what that bastard would do.
He didn’t hear any system alerts since running away from the town, and that made him quite restless. As he lied in wait he started to check his system notifications, waiting for the alert announcing his clearance of the quest.
Yet there was no such one… yet.
