“Yanee, you’re back!”

Cynthia Tan came bouncing towards the door as soon as Yanee stepped in the office. Tohru had to make some phone calls and secure her flight tickets so he asked her to go inside first which was good for Yanee. Why?

Because she wanted to drag someone at the corner somewhere to scold her.

“Yes, I am,”Yanee retorted with a glare and she quickly pulled Chummy towards the inner office.

They went inside Tohru’s office first so they could go to the resting area within where she slept and took a bath last time. As soon as Yanee closed the door, she attacked Chummy with pinches on her sides.

“Waaaah!”Chummy squealed as she tried to evade the pinches to no avail.

Yanee was a pro-level pincher.

“Hey! Stop Stop— I surrender general,” Chummy laughed and cried at the same time as she wiggled away from Yanee’s merciless hands.

In the end, the pinching stopped and Yanee went on a tickling attack that reduced Chummy into a giggling pool on the floor.

“I give up! I surrender,” she gasped.

Satisfied at her handiwork, Yanee finally relented and even helped Chummy up and ushered her onto the sofa.

“What happened?” Chummy asked amidst tears.

When she laughed a lot she cried as well. It’s a forever combo. She took out a hanky and dabbed at the corners of her eyes.

“What did I do to merit the ultimate Yanee Lee brand of punishment?” she added as she looked at Yanee who continued to pout at her.

“What do you think?”Yanee countered, narrowing her eyes at her friend who tried her best to look innocent.

“Er… You didn’t like the undėrwėȧr I packed for you?” she asked and Yanee almost snorted. “I swear I just folded them and placed them in the luggage. Ami was the one who took them from your drawers.”

Urgh…

Yanee wondered how the conversation turned to be this weird. She decided to be a bit direct.

“Did you or did you not talk about me with the boss?” she asked her pointedly.

“Ah…”Chummy placed a hand to cover her mouth, but Yanee already saw the amused twitch of her lips and she raised a brow.

She was not really mad at Chummy. She just wanted to give her a hard time to pay back for all the brain malfunction moments she suffered since Tohru confessed to her.

“So?”she prompted and Chummy squirmed with a sheepish smile as she placed her hands on her ŀȧp.

“Well…” she started as she obviously fought breaking into a smile.

“Cynthia Tan a.k.a. Chummy a.k.a. ex-BFF,”Yanee recited making the other panic as she reached out to pull her arm.

“Awww…. Don’t be so mad at me okay? I was just helping the boss to get to know you more. I mean even if he looks like that he’s totally a shy prince,” she cajoled which made Yanee’s lips twitch in amusement as well.

Calling Tohru a shy prince conjured a very funny image in her mind. Who the heck was a shy prince? Tohru was one shameless potato, alright?

“I was just thinking of you— I mean he’s an amazing guy. He seems to sincerely like you and I love you so I want the two of you to get together okay?” Chummy continued to pacify her.

When she remained unspeaking, Chummy continued to blabber on.

“I just told him bits and pieces about you— but of course if he’s really making a move I had to tell him about the shameless bastard so he’d be more patient with you and understand you better why you’re so reluctant with relationships.”

Yanee already knew this tidbit thought. Tohru already told her about his conversation with Chummy and the rest she already determined. However, instead of being patient with her, it backfired totally. It made the potato hasten his pursuit of her, not giving her a chance to breathe and think about it before she said yes.

Well, she’s not regretting that now of course.

“Ah— Yanee, my loves, don’t be mad at me anymore, okay?” Chummy begged looking all pitiful. “If you’re really not interested in him then I would stop talking to him about you. I won’t pit you and him together anymore too. I won’t meddle in your love affair anymore.”

With this Yanee finally laughed because Chummy’s face was so funny.

“Alright, alright, stop beginning,” she said as she patted her.

“You’re not angry anymore?” Chummy asked in surprise and she shook her head.

“I’m not,”Yanee answered. “But you don’t have to discuss me with the potato okay?”

Chummy burst into a chuckle. “I knew it— he’s the potato you’ve been talking about,” she giggled. Nonetheless, upon realizing what Yanee’s words meant made her lose her smile and she saddened.

“What?”Yanee wondered what happened. “Why did you look all depressed suddenly?”

“Nothing,” Chummy answered. But it was really obvious that there was something and that made Yanee curious.

“Spill,” she ordered as she poked her on the cheeks.

“Awww,”Chummy complained with a pout as she rubbed her cheeks before letting out a heavy sigh, looking forlorn. “I was just thinking that it’s waste.”

“What is a waste?”Yanee didn’t understand.

“You and boss,” Chummy answered matter-of-factly. “You both look good together. Like I said, he seems to seriously like you, you know. I was hoping you’d get it on and start dating him.”

Yanee’s curiosity doubled.

“Why do you want me to date him seriously?” she wondered.

“Because I’m the best BFF Forever out there and I have this huuuuuuge feeling that he will treasure you. Who wouldn’t be sad about this?”

Chummy looked all out depressed now and Yanee was about to pat her and ȧssure her that it’s fine when the girl bounced back on her own.

“Ah! It doesn’t matter. If the boss really likes you he will wait for you. It doesn’t have to be now. That way we can also see how patient he can be. I’ll tell him not to give up,” Chummy announced seriously so suddenly making Yanee’s lips twitch in amusement again.

Who was it that promised not to meddle in her love life again just earlier? Why was she rescinding her statement now?

Yanee flicked her nose. “Stop that.”

“Awww…. Yanee— you meanie. I was just looking out for you, okay?” Chummy complained again but this time, Yanee wouldn’t buy her pitiful act.

“You just said you won’t meddle in my love life so don’t,”Yanee told her pointedly.

“I did, I did… But it’s a pity,” Chummy looked like she really didn’t want to give up.

Yane was going to try and bully her more, but she reckoned that the potato might be back soon and mess with her tempo so she stopped teasing Chummy.

“You don’t have to meddle with my love life. If Tohru has questions about me he can ask me directly,” she said and she watched Chummy’s reaction.

At first Chummy nodded in agreement as if what she said made sense. Then she froze as she blinked at her several times and pointed at her.

“You…”

“I what?”Yanee asked in wide-eyed innocence.

“You called him by his name,”Chummy said almost accusingly.

“Did I?”Yanee countered nonchalantly still acting innocent but chummy was like a dog with a bone.

“You did— you did!”

“So I did,”she admitted and realization struck in Chummy’s eyes.

“Oh. My. God!” She looked totally thrilled. “Are you together now?”

Yanee nodded her head. “We’re dating. But still in the getting to know each other phase,” she confessed and Chummy squealed.

“That’s great!” She jumped up and down excitedly. Yanee was touched at how genuinely happy she was for her.

Alright, Cynthia Tan a.k.a. Chummy could be her BFF Forever again.

“Oh my! Yanee I’m so happy for you!” she said as she threw herself at her in a hug.

Yanee had no choice but to catch her. It was in this situation when the door opened and Tohru stepped in.

“Why is it that each time I leave you guys alone you always hug each other?”Tohru asked teasingly as the two broke up.

“Ah boss, I’m just congratulating Yanee,” Chummy told him unabashedly making his grin widen into a full-blown smile.

“Ooooh, she finally told you,” he said with approval as he raised his thumb up in her direction.

“I didn’t expect you’d sweep her off her feet this early, boss. You really work efficiently,” Chummy commented which earned her a pinch on the side from Yanee.

“Of course. If not I would always worry that someone would be shameless enough to snatch her form under my nose,” he told her proudly making Yanee roll her eyes heavenwards.

“Ya! You two talk as if I’m not here,”Yanee complained and Chummy giggled as she stood up properly.

“Then this third wheel will leave now. Being a light bulb is not my thing,” she announced before waltzing out of the room.

Urgh…
