Omni-Mastery - Chapter 506: Pulling The Thread, Rushing Towards Conclusion!
Considering that this was the epitome of my time within this Domain, it only made sense to spend everything that I bought in preparation for it in the System Space!
Swish! Swish! Swish!
‘Let’s see how long you can hold back.’
The tension that spread all over the battlefield made it feel like we were inside an oven. However, the view created by my full-on attack was like a cool breeze that took all my worries with it.
Hundreds of swords stuck to the intangible barrier like fierce beasts waiting for the right moment to jump right at their prey!
“Be ready, everyone. We will rush them once their shield falls off!”
“We shall follow the True Dragon’s lead!”
“Don’t you dare falter!”
Despite being at the very end of their ropes, the Dragon Clan’s Soldiers cried like there was no tomorrow. At this point, even if this was the end of them, they were going to see this through.
‘That was super effective.’
Although I was a fake created through Omni-Mastery’s cheat evolution process, the Dragon Clan’s Soldiers were almost fully assured that I was an actual dragon on par with their ancestor.
Rather, now that I had shown them ‘Full Dragonization’, it was probably harder to convince them otherwise…
Still, while that made me feel slightly guilty, I more than welcomed their misunderstanding.
I had already been exhausting my resources and reserves since earlier, if the Dragon Clan gave up, defeating the Demon Army on my own would be unlikely even if I broke down their barrier.
‘I could hold on with my physical stats, but…’
With how controlling the leader of the Demon Army was, I was bound to be ganged up on even at the cost of half their army.
My attacks would still be devastating, but once I lost the ability to deal more damage than I receive after being surrounded from all sides, my survival would be questionable.
Of course, that was just a hypothesis that didn’t include Light or the sleeping Dragon in my arm. It was also even possible that I could survive all on my own. However, I didn’t want to bet on that while our situation was already desperate enough!
‘Here I go.’
Since fear tactics were now out of the window, a straight rush was the only option left!
The Rain of Swords was already doing a great job draining the intangible barrier, but the most effective way to use my remaining energy was to deal damage with my own hands!
‘One big strike.’
[ ‘Fusion'(Incomplete) has been activated. ]
[ ‘Lightning Cloud’ has adopted the (Great Sword) form. ]
As taxing on energy consumption as it was, ‘Fusion’ was still the only peak ability that I could rely on to try and make an opening in the already weakened barrier…
“Oryahhhhhh!”
I wasn’t big on war cries, but at this specific moment, I just felt the urge to scream everything out. The battle situation was reduced to a very basic attack and defense trade-off that schemes didn’t really matter.
While my advantage was being able to make a better plan most of the time, I couldn’t deny that my heart was thumping at the thought of such an intense and direct exchange!
“I will support you, Ian!”
The Dragon Clan Leader seemed to have finally dealt with the strong opponent that remained outside of the energy barrier as he appeared next to me.
Although I didn’t know him for long, it felt reassuring to run towards the barrier in a pair.
“Raaahhhh.”
‘Of course.’
Naturally, I couldn’t forget Light either. While things might have seemed better for the Demon Army at the moment, it was hard to say the same after their shell would be peeled.
‘There is no better way than this to wash your necks for us.’
This was nothing but a very sturdy balloon, once it burst, the enemies that would be joined together in a very small area were the same as a pile of free kills!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
A sword strike so heavy that it looked like a drill, a lion’s oversized claw charged with lightning and thunder, and finally…
‘He can even do that?’
The Dragon Clan Leader’s face stretched, almost completely transforming into that of an actual dragon as he bit the barrier just like that!
‘Open sesame!’
Crrckkk
It wasn’t immediately broken through, but the troublesome barrier was no longer intangible, visible waves spread through it, revealing its faltering nature.
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Not even a second had passed, but the strikes continued while the faces of the oppressed Demons turned even darker.
They might be unable to cower due to the leading Demon’s control ability, but he was obviously incapable of controlling their expressions!
Thud!
[ You have absorbed… ]
A small hole opened within the barrier as cobweb-like cracks spread through it alongside a notification of absorbance.
‘As expected, Essence was one of the main components.’
I was surprised for a split second, but a smile quickly blossomed on my face. It seemed like the job was far easier than I expected.
Just like the thread that would leave clothes in pieces after being pulled on, the opening that we created might not have been enough to jump through. However…
‘I can eat through this like candy!’
[ You have absorbed… ]
The numbers that rang in my air were negligible, but it was like these tiny essence particles were what held everything together including the Corruption Energy.
With the system absorbing the essence and rinsing off that Corruption, the barrier was already doomed for dissipation!
“Crazy!”
The main culprit behind this situation had been donning a confident smile till now, but even he couldn’t stop his face from crumbling alongside his ‘trustworthy’ barrier.
‘Out of options yet? Either way…’
He might not be a shaman, but he did the same kind of annoying things that Shamans do, and there was one rule that I swore to follow when hunting demons.
‘Always kill the Shamans first!’
Even if he had other devious abilities, I had no plan to let such an irritating vermin breathe any longer than this!
