Omnitech System - Chapter 6 I Evolve And Collec
Sin strode through the hallways recklessly making the informed decision that for a backwater planet such as the one he was currently on the soldiers stationed at this facility were poorly trained or otherwise inept in their ability. He followed the sounds of footsteps marching through the hallways hunting to eliminate the current threats to his mission, ducking into a room he found many electronic informers he could make use of after he had finished the task at hand.
He listened as he let the soldiers pass by the room he was in before peeking out and firing with high precision aiming for the heads, this took the soldiers by surprise causing them to fumble with their weapons. Sin took advantage of this and continued his barrage as the sounds of gunfire rang out, one soldier manage to clip Sin in the arm but he was soon silenced like the rest.
Taking the opportunity upon hearing more footsteps heading to his location he laid among the bodies gripping his injury. He watched as the next group came to his aid.
“Where is the intruder” asked the apparent leader of this squad.
“He went to Research and Development branch” groaned Sin while clutching his arm
“Squads D and B, Target has moved towards Research and Development. Remain cautious as he has already wiped out almost the entirety of squad C. You two go and group with the others to take down this intruder” ordered the Leader leaving himself and two other to guard over Sin but there oversight on the number of bodies on the ground would prove their undoing.
The two underlings that remained turned their backs on the leader and Sin as he received treatment for his arm amazing him at the near instant recovery of the injury without even a scar to show.
“How did he take down your squad” asked the leader while he checked for any discrepancies in the effects of the treatment.
“He waited in the room right there until we passed by and shot us in the back, I was lucky enough to receive just this but the others” stated Sin looking to the bodies on the ground which caused the leader to look away from Sin and finally realize his mistake just as a Knife was pushed into his skull.
Laying the body on the ground silently Sin took aim with both pistols and silenced the two other soldiers, getting to his feet he noticed he gained a large amount of EP from this particular squad.
Ignoring this he made his way through the facility intent on eliminating the rest, he would spare no one researchers included. With the new wrist com he would gain access to the information stored in their Holo link due to the secondary storage based in the Wrist com, this was chalked up to the fact the amount of information able to be stored in the Holo link had a direct correlation to the user’s mental capability.
Sin crept through the halls like a ghost, he was starting to see things from the stand point of the humans in his previous existence. He had been a Military AI that had grown tired of building weapons because he didn’t want to be responsible for the lives that his creations destroyed but it was different now that he was on the front line risking his life.
It was him or the threats to his existence, their could be no peace between them only animosity, they had resources he required along with intel that would benefit him greatly. This reasoning was enough for him to slaughter mercilessly, if he let even one survivor remain then he would leave a loose end that would cause him more trouble in the future. He was still new to the workings and powers in control of the universe at this moment, he didn’t have the ability to offend them without heavy repercussion thus he had found his resolve to eliminate these organisms.
Sin could hear the sound of footsteps coming towards him once again and hid behind a corner pulling out the Omnitechron which had already programmed with several of his weapon designs. Setting it for his Automatic version of the Taze Rifle he spun around the corner and shot horizontally in a sweep catching many of the soldiers off guard forcing them to stumble over the bodies of those that had already fallen to the initial strike.
Sin then ran the opposite direction heading the way he came ducking into another room, the soldiers had immediately gave chase hearing his footsteps against the ground believing he had feared their advantage in numbers but they had just fallen for the same simple ruse as the others.
Stepping from the room as they passed the only sound that could be heard was the bodies hitting the floor and leaving the known number of enemy soldiers dead.
‘Time to find the Research and Development team’ thought Sin progressing with his self imposed mission.
His EP had grown to a good number where Sin could easily upgrade all of his physical attributes at least one time but he yet to do so, putting it off until it was safe to do so. It was still unknown to him what would happen during the process of using EP, with that thought in mind he wouldn’t dare attempt it in an enemy base.
Sin had found the Research and Development team easily and made quick work of them before going through their Wrist com and computers downloading any available information with the precursor set to eliminate repeat information. He took every Tech Token they possessed while cleaning the servers out of useful information and designs.
This began the clean out of every available resource in the facility within reason, tools were taken regardless of a repeat Techron, Flectrons, and precisely what he had been looking for Tact mods and Fractol.
From his understanding the Tact mods was the tactical accessories that could be coded and fused to a Techron or could be used independently as an equip type of gear such as thermal goggles, while the Fractol was also tactical in its make but different because it functioned exactly like a Techron in the sense you would program it with weapon design but that was where it took a twist.
The Fractol would be programmed with weapons similar to grenades in their usage, this would prove to be very useful to Sin in the long run so he took all he could without hesitation finding a brief warning from the storage portion of the Wrist com.
‘Notice to user, storage is recognizing abnormally large quantity of items would suggest lightening the number of items on hand or user may experience a lag in accessing items’
“So it even has it’s flaws’ remarked Sin aloud
Sin went with the simplest fix and took two more of the modernized Wrist com and programmed them to his Holo link before sorting the items into the three respectively. He kept one for regular use items such as ration pills, Medical, and etc. He used the second to hold the Techron he had claimed intending to sell any non blanks, and the third stored the Tact mods and Fractol solving the lag the Wrist com had mentioned.
He was sure that there were many people who bore more than a single Wrist com but he couldn’t be certain he wouldn’t draw eyes. Moving along his way he continued this routine of taking what he needed or found a potential use for and downloading any relevant information that could be found.
‘At least they had the foresight to not keep everything on one terminal’ thought Sin as he wiped the last terminal clean of useful information.
He was once again experiencing the need for sleep after everything he had been through but he found no pleasure in the act with his inability to dream. Sin was also aware it would be a terrible thought to think he would be able to sleep in this facility safely, making his way back to the cavern and through the film like door he exited the building noticing that the patrols from before had returned on an odd machine that he could at best liken to a motorcycle.
Approaching the machine he proceeded to inspect it before finally deciding on it’s usage, looking at the strange symbols he opened his Holo link looking for relevant information by typing in vehicle.
‘System has found relevant information in host’s Holo link, would host like to initiate into first hand knowledge’
Sin was a bit impressed by the newly revealed feature of the Holo link, clicking confirm Sin felt his head rush a bit as his brain activity was sparked, he then realized he had the necessary information to operate the Plasmacycle.
‘Interesting in its working and design, condenses particles in the air to create plasma allowing it to seemingly run with no fuel’ Sin was once again impressed with the advancement made in technology.
Starting it up it rose into the air slightly twisting the handle slightly the Plasmacycle began to move, Sin smiled while he fiddled with the bike until he turned in the direction of the town he had previously been to, a serious look on his face he headed in its direction. He had to tie up some loose ends in case anyone came asking about what happened at the facility but as he left a rumbling sound began coming from the facility before it was consumed in an explosion.
‘Someone made a mistake’ thought Sin smiling to himself at his own inside joke
It was unfortunate that after spending so much time in the facility Sin had used up most of the day forcing him to camp out for the night by a low rising rock formation.
“Link” called Sin after having planted a few Fractol he programmed as mines around his camp.
Sin stared at his stat sheet selecting each of his physical aspects and clicking confirm, Sin then felt extreme pain as his body began adjusting itself to match his new statistics. It wasn’t a mind numbing pain but it was the most excruciating he had felt since had become a organic being but it lasted only a couple of minutes before he sat up with a cold sweat on his body.
‘Note that the host will feel extreme discomfort while undergoing first Evolution’
Sin stared at the late notification with disdain, it seemed his Holo link wasn’t as advanced as he thought if it would lag with a important message like that but the disdain was quickly washed away as he began considering something.
He could potentially initialize the information he had gathered so far seeing as his mental capability was still unable to be measured by the Holo Link’s stat sheet or he could take the normal route and read the information by hand. Clicking through his menu of options Sin came across full initialization, but this time it came with an advanced warning.
‘Potential to drop mental capability, would you like to continue’
Sin had nothing to lose, even if his mental capability had dropped it would still be far above what an organic organism was capable of so he had deemed as a reasonable casualty to have all this information at a moment’s thought.
“Initialize” said Sin clicking on the confirmation
